http://www.operationsports.com/news...arrives-tomorrow-details-included-mostly-mut/ So, the fix is outside of this Title Update #4?
Probably couldn't squeeze it in on this update. EA told joystick.com "We've also been told that another announcement is due later this week." So hopefully this later patch will fixes the real issues in the game.
Wow. They started out so strong with post release support but now release an update that does not address a severely crippling bug...
It's EA, when have they ever fixed crippling issues promptly? We'll be lucky to even get this patched. Wasting time on these MUT updates...
How can they not? Its been tweeted and posted to death. The salary cap glitch is like the elephant in the room that nobody wants to address.
I don't mean they don't know about the problem, I mean I'm not sure they know how to fix it. That's just speculation though.
ah, that's a big 10-4. they'll get it eventually. perhaps not with this year's release, but I have faith in their programmers to make it right.
I was prompted to download a Madden update this morning at 6:30am (EST). Could that have been to address this?
I'm not as forgiving. Maybe we are the small minority but this is a huge issue. I'm not willing to just sit on my hands and say "oh well, wait until next year" while any CCM with less than 32 teams fights off being completely crippled.
What's your alternative at this point? It's crippling 32 man leagues as well, but I can't do anything about it.
Insist that they find and fix it like all the ranters did with fantasy draft and player edits. I'd venture to say that we are a larger group than fantasy drafters and this effects them as well. They've shown a willingness to listen and respond to a huge outpouring of negative feedback and were lauded for it. Those actions solicited the response. Sitting on our hands and saying "ok, you've ruined our league with a bug that certainly should've been able to be found thought testing but we'll just wait til next year. Thanks EA. No biggie." Is the same attitude from the general consumer base that had allowed them to do all the things we've all bitched about for the past 5 years. Their consumers finally spoke out, and very loudly, and were rewarded. It's not time to take a step back and start being passive again as a consumer base.
I refuse to be one of those guys who think that bitching is the route to accomplishing anything. What people don't see is that the team working on the bullshit features people were complaining about is exactly why many of the issues *I* care about are still unresolved. You think that we would still have the on-field issues and salary cap glitch if the team hadn't spent 2 months working on fantasy drafts and player edits?
I'm not disagreeing with that. I've long questioned their priorities. However, we as a community have to understand that those bitchers and complainers got what they wanted while most of the people in the sim community have been patient and/or apathetic. Who got what they wanted, the complainers or the nice guys? It's the old adage that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. We can certainly take a more dignified approach to it. However, the precedent has clearly been set that the issues that generate the largest response solicit the most attention...
