What does everyone think about increasing the Salary Cap to account for year-over-year progression and salary MAX payouts? I was thinking a 1% increase every year or a flat $2- $5 dollar increase year-to-year.

Why? That favors teams with higher overall ratings - in effect the rich get richer. and are able to keep more of their over progressed players. further devaluing their low rated draft picks as they will just trade them for emerging players form weaker teams and continue to have max accelerators. The cap now is structured to force successful teams to make tough decisions and in some cases be forced to let a top performer walk due to cap squeezes.

Well I figured since the NFL does it and an increase of $2 dollars every year, isn't drastic enough that the better teams will be able to get "richer". In fact the complete opposite of what you are saying should happen. Essentially a small increase will allow more teams to compete. The model the NFL has in place is to create parity by allowing teams opperating below the cap to be more agressive in Free Agency. Teams already near the cap obviuosly won't have that flexability.

    Just throwing it out there.
