You didn't have to even add Skinnie hadn't played yet if -5 is the current leader :p

Anyone else having a better go at Torrey Pines compared to Scottsdale? For some reason I like this course...

I was -5 last night and coulda-shoulda been -7 :( missed 2 easy birdie putts by user error.

I could be wrong but course felt longer that Scottsdale , but calm winds allowed me to hit some nice approach shots.
I expect some guys to be -10 per round.

I was -10 in my first round and that was with some pretty good birdie chances I missed and a bogey on 18. I have a tendency to get too aggressive on 18, I think in all the rounds I have played at Torrey, par is my best score on 18 because I can't seem to make myself play it conservatively......

I am sure everyone will be happy to hear that my controller broke the other day :(

I had to go buy a new one, and it is much stiffer. It has messed my swing up for now and will take me a week or two to figure out. But the good news is that I think it will work even better than the old one once I do get the hang of it. The old one was loose and didn't allow for barely any over swing no matter how far I pulled it back... The new one allows a full range of motion. Until I tried the new one I had no idea the old controller was limiting my shots. Also, the new one let's me get a fast swings with the driver with little to no effort, so I am having to slow down my swing to make sure they come up perfect. While the old one was really hard to get anything past perfect. So for now, don't expect me to be dropping mad scores for a while ;)

I shot an -8 .... Have some work to do, but I dribbled a few birdie chances pass the hole, purely because I was being a complete pussy on the downhill putts as i had to drain a 30fter back up the hill for par on the front 9 - which I didn't fancy doing again.

I couldn't buy a putt in the second round... But I called up Marshaun Lynch before the third round to get me in the right state of mind

Once again I stand corrected on the weather settings

I told EA fixed it,but apparently I was wrong and this week tournament will play easier than planned.

I have not heard from them that they fixed it yet, fingers crossed that I will hear from CamLeeEA soon :(

I will send a follow up PM to the discussion I had with him, and see if I can get a response? They are playing as a mix of breezy and calm, tending towards calm, but I did still have some winds that rated above what is allowed in calm settings, so it is a definite mix of conditions, not just straight calm. I had a few that were at 15-18 MPH, which qualifies as breezy. Also, the greens and pin positions are much harder than at Scottsdale, IMO. Scottsdale is a joke of a course, flat greens and barely any tucked pins on it.

And this may be related, but does live weather ever work?

Live weather does work, but it can be really unfair to the members that only have a few opportunities to play. I for one would be able to wait the weather out and be sure to play on a day that was sunny and calm every time. Live weather is great for head to head matches, but really unfair for a week long schedule, IMO.
