After taking the head job at Miami I had to axe my recruiting coordinator as well.....we are almost to week 9 and I have no visits my top 10 guys on my board had C+ and B- visits at best.....two recruits being 1 star fulbacks that are not a necessity at this point.

Look for the canes new recruiting coordinator to spark some interest in the near future.

on a side note....Coach Fpuent is battling me for the #6 ATH Darin Williams. A 6'1" 190 player with B+ Speed, B- Break Tackle, and B- Agility. With a B- visit I don't know if that was enough to sway him one way or the other

Year 2 - Florida Gators Recruiting Board Room

    SIGNED
[IMG] WR Jim Bowling, 6'0", 168 lbs, from San Francisco, California
IMPACT: This recruit will make a welcome addition to the receiving corps of the Gators. His speed and ability to find the open holes in defenses is a trait the Gators will look to exploit this coming season. Look for him to get possession using the 5-receiver formation.

[IMG] HB Travis Ingram, 6'0", 196 lbs, from New Kensingston, Pennsylvania
IMPACT: Just what the Gators need...more power and speed at the HB position. This recruits speed with his hands will make him an outstanding for upcoming QB Jordan Reed.

[IMG] HB Zach Abrams, 6'1", 216 lbs, from Wantagh, Nevada
IMPACT: The Gators are bulking up at key positions and planning on future departures from key All-Americans. Even though you can't easily replace the likes of HBs Jeff Demps & Chris Rainey...they are off to a good start with the signing of these 2 recruits in Ingram and Abrams.

[IMG]WR Troy Chavis, 6'4", 174 lbs, from Barstow, Florida
IMPACT: This recruit will make a welcome addition to the receiving corps of the Gators. His height mixed with speed and ability will help the Gators sustain drives and find much success in opponents endzones. Look for the Gators ot utilize his height in the redzone and in goal line situations.

[IMG]K Jonathan Davis, 5'11", 181 lbs, from Roseville, Michigan
IMPACT: This recruit will have an immediate impact on the Special Teams play of the Gators in the year 2012. He was brought in to work and learn from Jr. K Jonathan Phillips. He will take over the reins as starting K for the Gators upon Jr. K Jonathan Phillips departure.

    SOFT-SIGNED
The Gators report no recruit has soft-signed as of this posting.

    RECRUITING SEASON OUTLOOK
The Gators, concentrating on key positions, have done very well with this recruiting class. They have signed top picks at the positions of HB, WR, and K...and now look to solidify an already tenacious defense. The offensive line was a concern last season, so special emphasis is being put on recruitment efforts now. We will keep a sharp eye out on any recruiting efforts accomplished with offensive or defensive linemen. Whereas, the departing seniors will not decimate the Gators, the coaching staff is already gearing up for year 3 departees. We look for great things to come from the Gator's camp about the recruiting hopefuls listed here, and any forthcoming.
