    Schedules in 2011

So do we have any plans for schedules in 2011?

Not sure what you guys were doing toward the end of NCAA 10's days or if some of the things we did earlier in the year carried on.

    Some questions ...

    - Do we require a fourth human vs. human game? Or just have the three conference games?

The biggest issue here is going to be the Big Ten, since one team is removed from their conference schedule each year, and a pretty good chance the team will be human after rivals are taken out of the equation.

Certainly easier to figure out a way to add an extra fourth HvH game for somebody than a fifth.

    - Do we do required games against the Big 12, SEC and ACC? I'm thinking we throw the human conferences in a hat, and the computer conferences as well. We then pick for the first year matchups.

Then each year the computer conferences move one slot to the west. Something like this ...

    2010 2011 2012
Big East SEC Big 12 ACC
Big Ten ACC SEC Big 12
Pac 10 Big 12 ACC SEC

so everybody would play a team in each conference once every three years.

we'd then rank human teams 1 to 4 based on season records (with tiebreaker being head to head). Since each of those conferences have championship games, team 1 plays the champion, team 2 the runner-up, team 3 the second place team with the best record, team 4 the other second place team.

    Thoughts?

    Lol confusing.

Usually us simple folk just ask who wants to play who and matchup here n there to get 4 user games lol

Yeah that's confusing as shit. Here's what I would like for Louisville:

    - 1 OOC user game
    - 1 tune up easy CPU game in week 1
    - 1 Top 10-15 cpu game
    - 1 home game vs either Memphis or Kentucky (my rivals)

maybe the specifics are confusing but the concept isn't ...

everybody plays one game a year against opponents from the SEC, ACC or Big 12 based on record. And the conference you play rotates each year (ala the NFC v. AFC games).

it'd take about five minutes for me to post all the matchups once we know the results of the conference champion games.

shit i could do it now based on current records ...

    Washington vs. Oklahoma
    UCLA vs. Missouri
    Stanford vs. Texas A&M
    Cal vs. Nebraska

    Rutgers vs. Alabama
    Pitt vs. South Carolina
    USF vs. Arkansas
    Louisville vs. Tennessee

    Purdue vs. North Carolina
    Wisconsin vs. FSU
    Michigan State vs. Georgia Tech
    Illinois vs. Clemson

in 2012 the Pac 10 would face the ACC, Big Least the Big 12 and Big Ten the SEC.

i use to do something like this when we first started back in '09. Sounds good to me... puts some meat in the schedules for our CPU games.

that's what i'm thinking. plus there'd be some overlap so we don't have computer teams going undefeated without one of us having a say about it.

and i'd be willing to do all the leg work behind getting this running if Helli was cool with that.

(btw ... wtf is up with Florida being like 5-6?)

i disagree...leaves teams like boise st and tcu untouched and can get to the bcs title game.

i say we take out the top 12 cpu ranked teams in the pre-season regardless of conference

nah don't like that idea because you could end up playing the same team multiple years, or teams from the same conference year after year.

I had that happen in NCAA 09 - ended up playing Ole Miss three years in a row.

if that's a true concern we could add a fourth group to the mix - non-BCS conference schools. So each year one of the conferences would sit out.

i.e. in 2012 nobody would play the Big 12, instead the Big Least would play the top four non-BCS schools from the year before. then in 2012 nobody would play the ACC, with the Big 12 against Big Least and top non-BCS against Big Ten.

Why don't we figure out when the offseason is going to be first.

No one says you have to play the same team year after year.

2011 - you could get #4 ranked Oklahoma for example
2012 - you could get #8 ranked Miami
2013 - you could get #3 ranked Boise St

don't need to line up everything. I would just rather take out the 12 most dangerous cpu teams to make the BCS title game/go undefeated. So we don't have a situation like this year, when Mo goes undefeated, but might not make the title game because Alabama and Boise St got a free run without playing a user

just my 2 cents alteast. ill play whichever cpu team you guys schedule for me as my "hard-bcs buster game". just want memphis or kentucky on the schedule every year since those are my 2 rivals, neither are in the big east.

I think teams like Boise and TCU need to be added to the user schedules. I think with a little effort when making the schedules we can make sure no CPU team gets a free pass.
