[ST LOUIS, MO] The Seahawks (2-2) traveled to the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis for their week 5 match-up against the Rams (1-3). The Rams took a commanding 14-0 lead in the first half only to see their lead squandered as the Seahawks scored 17 unanswered points of their own to steal a win from the Rams. In a game of field position, ball control turned out to be the deciding factor in this one as the Seahawks snuck away with a 17-14 win.

Good game, Kris, and thanks for heeding my request to allow the defense time. Your team is a lot better than you think as you definitely had me on the ropes in this one. See you for the rematch in 2 weeks!

The Seahawks offense awoke late in the second quarter as Mark Morgan hit Rob Gronkowski for a 17 yard TD reception over the middle just before halftime to make the score 14-7.

The Seahawks were able to put another three points on the board late in the third quarter with a successful 35 yard FG by Anthony Bautista, cutting the Rams lead to 14-10. The Rams were unable to respond, punting the ball out of bounds at the Seahawks six yard line with 7:12 remaining. Morgan lead the Seahawks offense on a successful drive of 94 yards using 5:49, capped off by a 14 yard pass to Charles Clay for a TD reception to put the Seahawks ahead 17-14.

The Rams were down, but not out as they had 1:23 and all three timeouts remaining following the Seahawks score. The Rams drove all the way to the Seahawks 32 yard line and were poised for a score with 31 seconds remaining. However, Earl Thomas III had other intentions as he picked off Geneo Godfrey's pass intended for Thurman Banks, giving the Seahawks possession and the field position that they needed to close out the game for the win.
