[ ST.LOUIS, MO ] The Seahawks opened the 2020 season on the road travelling to St. Louis to take on the Rams in week 1. The Rams always play tough; particularly at home, and the Seahawks knew they would need to build a lead early if they intended to leave the Edward Jones Dome with a win. The Rams, however, had other intentions as Andrew Luck who was signed by the Rams in the off-season connected with Thurman Banks in the first quarter for a 6 yard TD reception to give the Rams an early 7-0 lead. The Seahawks would answer on their ensuing drive as Devonta Lumpkin sprinted 21 yards for a TD on a well executed screen play to tie things up at 7-7. Undaunted by the Seahawks scoring response, the Rams offense marched back down the field. The Rams wound up stopping short and settled for a field goal to retake a second quarter lead, 10-7. The Seahawks attempted to put together a responding drive of their own. However, running back Trevence Curry coughed up the rock in the Red Zone giving the Rams momentum at home.
