Florida State breaks the seal on the 2017 recruiting class.

:5stars: ATH Calvin Walter 6'0 221 from Fultondale, AL. Kid projects to fullback, with B- pass block/hit power, C+ speed/strength.

UF adds 2 in week 1:

    G Jason Wilson :5stars:

Wilson is a pretty solid G. He ranks in the ESPNU150 and for whatever reason, is the one position that seems to love UF lately. He'll come in and add depth to an already stacked OL. Jason also considered FSU and PSU.

    CB Andy Arnold :5stars:

A solid combination of speed (A-) and acceleration (A) with great coverage skills and play recognition (B range) Andy will likely see playing time next season.

    Name Position Caliber Height Weight
    Jason Wilson G :5stars: 6'3" 274lbs
    Andy Arnold CB :5stars: 6' 171 lbs

Caliber Name Position Height Weight Hometown Key Attribute
:4stars: Jason Roberts WR 5'10" 175 lbs Rahway, NJ B Speed, B+ Spectacular Catch
:4stars: Dan Harvey (JUCO) TE 6'4" 264 lbs Benbrook, TX B- Speed, B- Catching
:5stars: Willie Langford HB 6'0" 211 lbs Fostoria, OH B+ Speed, A- Agillity

WR Jason Roberts ESPN 150 :4stars:

Roberts is your prototypical Penn St receiver as he has the making as a great possession wideout. It would look as if next year would be a year for Roberts to learn the ropes on special teams but god forbid star Lance Stewart tries to declare early for the NFL draft, Roberts could be thrust into some substantial playing time next year.

MSU added :4stars: HB Ryan Harrison ESPN 150

Harrison would normally need a redshirt but because of the lack of time left for '11 will probably serve a backup role. He lacks speed but has solid all around skills.

Florida State receives another commitment this week, from another ESPU Top 150 player.

:4stars:OLB Thomas Hicks 6'5 254 from Adamsville, AL. This freak of nature may eventually move to defensive end, he has the size, speed and skills to be a dominant player there. He enters school with B speed/acceleration/tackle and B- agility/block shed/pursuit/strength/power moves/finesse moves.

Clemson has signed 3 players so far. Guard Anthony McCauley is the most exciting prospect so far. He has good acceleration and pass blocking ratings. HB Danny McDonald comes in with good juke and spin moves, but lacks the top end speed.

    :5stars: G #2 Anthony McCauley** 6'5" 300 Oviedo, FL
    :5stars: HB #5 Danny McDonald** 5'10" 183 Escondido, CA

Penn St locks up 2 more recruits:

:5stars: ESPN 150 HB Willie Langford chose Penn St over rival Ohio St and Michigan St and we couldn't be more thrilled. We currently have some good backs but we will find room for the huge (6' 200 lbs) stud. For such a big guy, Langford has good speed (B+) but his Agility (A-) is what can make him great. He also possesses B- Trucking, B- Spin Move and B Juke Move. Langford will more that likely see only special team duty next season.

:4stars:JC TE Dan Harvey much like Langford, decided Happy Valley was the place for him and not Columbus (starting to see a trend here ;)). With such few seasons left, Penn St has decided to go the Junior College route on a lot of players and Harvey is the first of what can possibly be 5 JC kids in this years class. Harvey is a huge kid (6'4" 264 lbs) but has good receiving skills (B- Speed, B- Catching, B- Catch In Traffic). He also excels in the blocking game as he grades out mostly with C+ and B-. Harvey will look to compete for the backup TE spot next year as right now Sophomore Josh Woods is probably the best pass catching TE in the country.

Stay tuned, there should be some more exciting Nittany Lion recruiting news in the next couple of weeks. :)

Clemson signs 4 more recruits this week.

:5stars: WR Marvin Harris was ranked the #1 player overall and chose Clemson over offers from Florida and Florida State. Harris is the second #1 overall player to sign with the Tigers after Marcus Smith signed 4 years ago. Harris will be on the field next year catching passes. He is a big target at 6'4" with good speed (B+) and acceleration (B+).

:5stars: CB Larry Sanders is ranked #1 at his position and committed to Clemson over offers from Florida and Florida State. Sanders has blazing speed (A+) along with great acceleration (A) and agility (B+). Sanders should be able to stick with any WR in the country but the tremendous depth built in the Tigers' secondary may find it hard for him to crack the starting lineup next year.

:4stars: CB Zach Garcia from California also signed with the Tigers this week. He was more of a back up plan as FSU and Clemson were after the same top 2 CBs. Garcia has good speed (A-) and press rating (A-) but will probably be relegated to a back up role the next few years.

:3stars: P Eric Holmes has also signed with Clemson over an offer from rival Georgia Tech. Holmes filled a need for the Tigers this season, but doesn't have a spectacular leg coming in. He may see the punting duties handled by kicker Johnny Taylor next year.

    UF Week 8 Update:

    FS Sean Brown :5stars:

Sean is a monster FS with A+ speed and A- acceleration. He is a strong tackler (B) and has decent coverage skills. Granted this is probably my last season in `11, I would of been fun getting Sean some action on both sides of the ball since he has C- catching skills too.
