Please post your offensive and defensive playbooks in this thread. As a reminder, playbook selections must be finalized by either your 3rd game or your 2nd user game (whichever comes first). Once your playbook is finalized, you cannot change until the offseason.

If you are using a custom playbook, you must post each formation used in your playbook as well as the base playbook you used as a starting point.

NOTE - I'm going to be paying close attention to any defensive custom playbooks, since I've discovered that you can essentially put in nearly every defensive package into one playbook. Unrealistically extensive defensive playbooks will not be allowed.

WSU-I am going to roll with WSU's Playbook for year 1. I am not messing with the customization yet, probably in year 2, or whenever I get the chance

I am concerned about custom defensive playbooks. Its kind of unrealistic to allow custom playbooks to contain fromations from more than one base defense.

How many different defensive plays do you call in a game? (20-30) You could easily trim down all the redundant plays and get the best plays from every formation. The reason multiple was not total BS last year is that you were given limited play selection from both the 3-4 and the 4-3. Now you can just get every play you wanted from either formation plus the other 2 base defenses.

The best thing from me to do would be to grab everything I think is effective from every formation. There is no reason to only specialize in 4-3 or 3-4 when I can just have both and any play I wanted from both. This seem unrealistic and unbalanced to me. What do you guys think?

I was talking to Cole about this earlier, and I'm not really a fan of defensive custom playbooks. I'm going to post a new thread with some revised defensive playbook rules. For now - Cole, either remove the 3-3-5 stack looks from your playbook or just run the Multiple playbook you used as a starting point.

I have just been using the 4-3 on defense. I might want to edit it to get the 46 from the last years multiple playbook. Also my favorite nickle zone play is not in the 4-3 playbook so I might look to see if it still exists and add it. I was not trying to ride you personally about your playbook. I just thought it might be an important issue. Better to get this stuff out of the way early.

I plan to get my offensive playbook out tonight. I am still looking to make some snips and cuts before my game tonight.

OK - do me a favor and make sure you get that playbook posted prior to the advance. Pretty sure you are the last to have not posted an offensive playbook.

My Offensive custom playbook is bugged. If i try to use it in offline games, I freeze up at the game loading screen. If I try to use it in user games, it switches me to the team's default playbook. From now until at least next season, my playbooks are as follows:

    OFFENSE: Run Balanced (default)
    DEFENSE: 4-3 (default)

Moving forward - the Multiple defense playbook is no longer allowed.

Did we decide for custom pbs as long as they follow the down linemen principle then?

I have only taken out 1-5-5 as my custom pb for this season so I don't even have the option to use it. But I would like to add a couple limited 3-3-5 looks to my 3-4 base next season. Would this be allowed?

I noticed that with the 4-3 if I wanted to use a custom playbook I could take out the 1-5 and add every 4-2-5 formation and play.

You can and for now that's allowed.

I'm going to readdress it in the offseason, and don't be surprised if defensive playbooks are gone by season 2. I'm really just not a fan of them.
