All teams but SMU (which doesn't count because he joined late) are represented if I am correct. Good first year fellas!

I don't deserve much credit here. Hopefully next season, though.

Next year should be tougher, but this is a pretty decent spread, and we didn't exactly dominate all the awards.

I'd still like to know how that Thorpe award list ended up the way it did. How does one get almost every spot? Are all of those guys even starters?

The guy who won was my starting CB, the second place guy is the back-up SS but is my Fourth CB (my first and third CB were hurt week 3 for the season) Then 3 was my starting FS and 5 was my starting SS

Also in my defense, my FS had no business being in the Thorpe. He had 41 tackles and 2 picks, hardly award worthy

    a) awesome game!
    b) congrats bruce! well deserved.
    c) i have to admit a slight bit of weirdness with the counterclimactic natl champ game played b4 other bowls...lol. we should make it a rule that champs have to wait until all other bowls are played.

oh...and ive asked this like 5 times, but i see a ton of the leagues have rules on who you are allowed to talk into staying. do we have these? i think we should probably come up with something at least. as brokenhearted as i am, in real life, no way in hell ryan williams stays following a season like that. thoughts?

Yeah we have the no talk if they've won an award or are 95 overall and above. I think that's it.

That is a major award isn't it? So all-american doesn't prevent the discussion right? But a Blietnikoff does?

I imagine an all-american would be OK to talk into staying, but any award winner would not be OK. We can extend it to all americans if you guys want, but I don't think that was the nature of the rule when I stole it from another league.

FYI - Pryor is a 94, and he didn't win anything. All that hype, and some douche from TTech wins it. Oh well, at least I get to chat up Terrelle in the off-season.

OSU has got to be the preseason #1 if Pryor stays for his senior season.

as gay as it is (jealousy), i think pryor staying is pretty legit. just not an nfl 1st round type for-sure guy.

as for me, ryan, we'll miss you and think of you as david wilson breaks your rushing record next season!

Let me play devil's advocate here: What happens if say, Marcus Lattimore wins the Maxwell as a sophomore, then as a junior (because he cannot leave yet) he suffers a season ending injury in week 3, misses the season and does not win. Does that major award from a year ago create a situation where we forego any discussions?

I agree as well. I think the season in which a player makes the decision is the only one we should look at.

What about redshirt SO that have won an award. Cameron Meredith is a RSSO, can I try to talk him into staying?

    Players leaving
A player will not be allowed to attempt to sway a player from the pro draft if he:

    - is > 95 OVR
    - is a JR that has won the Heisman
    - is a JR and has won a major award (Thorpe, Maxwell, Biletnikoff, etc) and is > 90 OVR

This doesn't state anything about redshirt SO.

I re-read part of the Play or Sim thread where the talk of James was and Arch. said go for it. I talked him into staying, then finished reading the thread and some guys think that if he wins a major award you can 't talk to them. If the majority feels this way. I'll cut him as soon as we get to cuts. Everyone let me know what you think.
