I'm doing this differently than I have in the past, since there aren't that many players that really seem to be 'MVP' candidates this season due to the difficulty everyone is having in running the ball and the amount of turnovers on the year. So.....we are moving straight to the final 3.

Between now and the end of the bowls I need everyone to post a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finisher.

    The candidates are:

Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson - Tyler has had a great year thus far, leading all user QB's in yards (2,921) and he is currently 2nd in TD passes with 27 (trailing only Jeff Driskell of Florida, who has 30 on 50 more pass attempts). His user game stats are below (the game vs Alabama was a CPU game after the EA screwjob in week 4):
    • vs Georgia (W) - 103 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT
    • vs TAMU (W)- 328 yards, 2 TD, 3 INT
    • vs Auburn (W)- 300 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT
    • vs Mizzou (W)- 206 yards, 2 INT
    • vs South Carolina (W) - 263 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT
    • vs LSU (W) - 200 yards passing, 2 TD, 1 INT
Missouri QB James Franklin -This kid has been the best 2 way threat at QB among user players this year, as he ranks in the top 10 among user teams in passing (7th with over 1,900 yards and 18 TD's) and rushing (526 yards and 5 TD's). He turns the ball over at a bit of a high clip, with 18 total turnovers on the year (15 INT's and 3 fumbles), but he has been the straw that stirs the drink for a surprising Mizzou offense, which is the 2nd most prolific user offense on the year. His user game stats are below:
    • vs LSU (L) - 158 yards passing, 1 TD, 2 INT, 55 yards rushing with 2 TD's
    • vs FSU (W) - 189 yards passing, 1 TD, 2 INT, 94 yards rushing
    • vs Bama (W) - 113 yards passing, 0 TD, 2 INT, 92 yards rushing with a TD
    • vs Arkansas (L) - 137 yards passing, 0 TD, 2 INT, 30 yards rushing
    • vs Auburn (W) - 185 yards passing, 3 TD, 2 INT, 81 yards rushing
    • vs TAMU (L) - 186 yards passing, 0 TD, 2 INT, 47 yards rushing, 1 TD
Georgia Bulldog Defense- I really looked to see who off this unit is the MVP, and really it's been a group effort, so there ya go. This group has been what has led to the team winning the SEC East with a game left to play moreso than anything on the offensive side of the ball. The senior laden back 7 (3 of 4 LB's and 3 of 4 in the starting secondary are graduating) has been nothing short of awesome this year, and I just try and stay out of their way. As of week 11, Georgia is #1 in overall defense, #1 in run defense, and #1 in turnover margin. The most unbelievable stat is that there has only been 15 red zone possessions by opposing offenses all season. The user game stats for the defense are as follows:
    • vs Arkansas (L) - Allowed 7 points (14 points came off of turnovers by the Georgia offense), 114 yards of offense and forced 3 turnovers
    • vs Tennessee (W) - Allowed 7 points, 123 yards of offense, forced 3 turnovers and scored a TD
    • vs South Carolina (W) - Allowed 7 points, 226 yards of offense, forced 4 turnovers and scored a TD
    • vs Florida (W) - Allowed 28 points, 290 yards of offense, forced 3 turnovers and scored a TD
    • vs FSU (W) - Allowed 3 points, 153 yards of offense, forced 2 turnovers
    • vs Auburn (W) - Allowed 7 points, 202 yards of offense, forced 5 turnovers, scored 1 TD

I'll update this as the remaining user games are completed, but I wanted to get the initial post up and running.

I think I'll wait until the UGA-Arkansas SEC Championship game.

I figured that is what most will do, but I wanted to get some of the legwork in while I have time.

Cheez is evidently a bit quick on the trigger.....

    Coach Boom's MVP voting:

    1. Georgia Defense - The defense has been dominant all year, even in the team's only loss.

    2. QB James Franklin, Missouri - The Tigers rely on Franklin more than any other team relies on any one player. Franklin makes the offense go and is instrumental to Missouri's success.

    3. QB Tyler Wilson, Arkansas - Wilson is the leader of the best team in the SEC, but has a myriad of weapons around him to whom distribute the football.

Franklin is out for me. What should be the deciding factor is the SEC championship, with Wilson going up against Georgia's D.

Georgia vs Arkansas will tell it all. Right now Wilson is in the lead on my ballot for the game winning, last second td after a pedestrian game against my D. Georgia I haven't played and Mizzou I play in week 13. Still a lot to decide for me.

I'm gonna wait til Franklin plays Auburn and TAMU....... and the SEC title game. There is still time for Franklin to get back in this race or drop all the way out

Stats are updated through last nights games. I believe that Mizzou QB James Franklin is done until the bowls, and Arkansas/Georgia have the SEC title game left to play.

Well...after last night Tyler Wilson gets my vote, and 2nd and 3rd are kind of irrelevant, but I will take my defense 2nd and Franklin 3rd.

It's pretty straight forward I think.

    Wilson
    UGA D
    Franklin

    Wahoo!

Wilson finishes his senior season with 4,444 yards and 44 TD (22int). After A shaky start, Wilson put in the time on the practice field, and improved throughout the season.

Picture and Hightlight of the year incoming (tonight).

I agree with everyone else..... after my Auburn Win, Franklin was "on the rise" and then his second half collapse against TAMU sealed his fate. He has a good shot at this award next season though!

With 8 first place votes, Tyler Wilson is the winner. Congrats whygodwhy1111.

Took me a bit to find the free time, but I compiled some Highlights from the 2012 Tyler Wilson campaign. Jayrah you probably do not want to watch the last 2 plays. Also that mascot is really underplaying the celebration of the 45 yard pass play to win it as time expires.

haha nope don't like them. Tell me something, do you get a lot of highlights that do not play correctly? Like 3/4 of the plays I want to highlight have a slide effect through half the play and it looks terrible.
