This thread is to chronicle the recruiting efforts in Extreme Makeover. I started a new thread so that it can be clean for adding recruit info as we sign them. ;)

The spreadsheet allows us to track each team's recruits and ensure that we all stay within the recruiting guidelines. It also allows you to keep track of your recruits away from the game.

To post your recruits into the spreadsheet, click on your team's tab and then enter the information into the appropriate cell. Please also update the "Overview" tab with each recruit that you sign.

To edit the spreadsheet, click here.

    Recruiting Guidelines
    • Scholarship = Leaving (graduating, early draft, transfers) + 3. Ex. 16 SR's, 2 JR's draft and 1 FR transfer. (16+2+1)=19+3=22 scholarships available
    • 1-2* non-AQ (mid-major) schools are allowed a maximum of one 4* recruit per season.
    • 1-2* AQ (BCS) schools are allowed a maximum of three 4* recruits per season.
    • 3* non-AQ (mid-major) schools are allowed a maximum of two 4* recruits per season.
    • 3* and up AQ (BCS) schools have no player caliber limit.
    • 4* and up non-AQ (mid-major) schools have no player caliber limit.

Scouting Report: Played quarterback and safety in high school. Has adequate speed and a decent second gear. Not the strongest arm but is a threat as a runner. Decent tackler with a little pop. Average to good zone defender but is lost in man. His biggest question mark is his endurance. Projects to be a decent quarterback in a spread option scheme at he next level.

Quick question. Don't want to upset anyone. And I'll play by the rules. Just wondering why were only allowed one 4 star?

@BigTexas18 I think the reason for 1 4 star limit right now is to keep things realistic. You wouldnt see any low tier program hauling in 3 or 4 4 star guys per year.

AQ stands for automatic qualifier. One of the Big 6 conferences.

@BigTexas18 What @titangator said is correct. Those limits are in place to keep things realistic much like the general TSO rules.

FYI, I updated everyone's scholarship allowance on the spreadsheet. Its up to you guys to use. Its just a tool to help you guys out. If you don't pay attention and happen to go over the limit, well, the NCAA will look down sternly upon you ;)

This is what I get when I click the link. All you have to do is input the value and it ill save automatically. Not sure why you have all the different values and dropdowns. Just slick the link and input. You don't have to download, change or format anything. Hope that helps...

EDIT: I imputed the 1111 in the 4* category and then removed it ;)

I'm not sure on ipad. It does the same on mine though. I'll see if I can download a different ipad browser and see I that changes anything.

I tried with Chrome and same thing. Must be an ipad thing. If you even get on a laptop or PC try it then. Otherwise just use it as a guide

J.J. Martin (Outside Linebacker) 6-4 239 Tallmadge, OH (JUCO) **

Scouting Report: Transferring from Navarro College in Texas where he played outside linebacker. Has outstanding speed and can keep up with most ball carriers. Has good strength and some pop at the point of contact. Pursues laterally and can make plays from sideline to sideline. Is not a great coverage linebacker and can get fooled on play fakes. Is primarily a run stopper at this point as he hasn't developed the skills to become a reliable pass rusher.

Kent State received several commitments over the weekend. Each of the players that committed to Kent were at the Golden Flashes loss to Temple yet seemed dissuaded by the upset.

    Kent State Commitments

Mike Mansfield (Athlete) 5-11 172 Delaware, OH ***

Scouting Report: Small in stature but plays much bigger than his frame. Less than ideal speed but covers the field from sideline to sideline. Can provide some pop on contact and is a solid wrap up tackler. Struggles in coverage but made strides as a senior. Will be looked to fill versus the run. Considered a poor man's Bob Sanders. Also played running back in high school.

    ----------

Nick King (Outside Linebacker) 6-5 209 Loveland, OH (JUCO) *

Scouting Report: Solid tackler with adequate speed. Decent as a pass rusher but struggles in coverage. Doesn't always follow the play. Projects as a special teams player.

    ----------

Kevin Lumpkin (Center) 6-5 305 Troy, OH ***

Scouting Report: Adequate to good run blocker. Shows decent push off the line. However, does not have great strength. Not a great athlete and is not an effective pull/trap blocker.

    ----------

Robert Cooper (Cornerback) 6-1 189 Lancaster, OH ***

Scouting Report: Decent speed and can stay with a majority of receivers. Effective in both zone and man coverage. Lacks strength and has difficulty generating a bump, especially against bigger receivers. Not a great tackler. Tries to hit guys instead of wrapping them up. Has the potential to develop into a reliable cover corner.

    Temple Commitments Week 13:

Robert Sanders (****) HB - Robert is a 6' 204 pound power back that will keep Temple pounding the ball offensively. Look for him to get possibly playing time as a true freshman, depending on how the backup RB develop in the offseason.

Brett Franklin (***) G - Franklin is a bit short at 6 feet but weighs in at 302lbs. Should help providing some depth to the O-Line for run game and help with pass protection

Drew Newby (***) FB - JUCO transfer. Newby should provide some depth and more talent at the FB position which Temple needs to improve on this year

Jack Jones (***) C - Jones comes in at 6-4 287 pounds. Look for him to develop throughout the year and become a great anchor for the O-Line

Evan Stevens (***) WR - Evan has a chance to help improve the Temple pass game at 6-1 175. He will need to develop his speed but will increase the depth at the WR position that Temple severely need to improve

Kasey Collier (***) FS - Collier will fill in some of the vacant spots that will open at the end of the season. Temple's secondary has much room to improve and Kasey will be a great addition

Beau Herron (***) SS - Again will need to step up with the vacancies that will be created with seniors leaving. He is a bit small at 5-10 189 but can lay the lumber on receivers

Brandon Stegall and Randy Butler (**) SS - These two will likely be redshirted and compete in later seasons for playing time. Look for these two to work hard and increase their skills for playing time.

    Kent State Commits

Steve Holmes (Middle Linebacker) 6-2 249 Springfield, PA (JUCO) **

Scouting Report: High energy athlete at the linebacker position. Possesses great speed and will track ball carriers from sideline to sideline. Has excellent strength and creates good pop on contact. Gets off blocks and can make tackles in the backfield. Solid wrap up tackler. Also capable of rushing the passer. Decent in coverage and can stay with most running backs and tight ends. Suffered an injury in junior season and wasn't heavily recruited. Has the potential to be an elite player of healthy.

Ian Williams (Wide Receiver) 6-4 211 Englewood, OH ****

Scouting Report: Has elite top end speed. Can out run most defenders although it takes him several steps to hit top speed. Good route runner. Can run most routes effectively. Has good size but doesn't utilize it like he could. Plays more of a finesse game and relies too much on his speed. Rated highly by some recruiting services but looks to be mostly a deep ball threat at the collegiate level.

Neal Britt (Quarterback) 6-4 192 Oviedo, FL ***

Scouting Report: Very good passer. Has above average accuracy and sees the field well. Dangerous on short-to-medium throws. Lacks elite arm strength but doesn't try to force the ball. Reminiscent of Alex Smith but lacks the athleticism. Strictly a pocket passer.

Caleb Bowers (Halfback) 5-8 208 Aberdeen, MS ***

Scouting Report: Has good size and is thick below the waist. Body type is similar to Barry Sanders. However, doesn't posses great speed or athleticism. Has good moves for his size and can be powerful. Has a low center of gravity and can be difficult to bring down. Has ball security issues and is not a reliable receiver out of the backfield. Mostly a two down back if assuming he corrects his fumbling issues.

Clint McKenzie (Defensive Tackle) 6-3 278 Bradford, PA ***

Scouting Report: Has good size and strength. Can plug the middle. Capable of creating in push and dragging down ball carriers. Not a great athlete. Doesn't possess elite awareness. Probably best suited as a 1-technique tackle in a 4-3.

Jeremy Brooks (Cornerback) 6-1 174 Zephyrhills, FL ***

Scouting Report: Decent to good speed. Adequate coverage skills. Will stay with most receivers. Can contribute in run game. Smart athlete who knows the game well.
