Hey I thought i'd make a new recruiting thread for season 1.

Ill get Virginia Tech's number of scholarships available tomorrow when I play my game.

    I had 3 instant commits.

    4* DT Henry Davis #169 (#10) 70 OVR
Will Provide depth and could very well become a starter at some point in his time at VT.

    4* QB Cole Day #80 (#2 QB) 81 OVR
This guy is 6-7, 246lbs, and has 89 speed. Will have the chance to compete for the starting job day one but could be redshirted if it seems he wont be the starter in his first year. He will certainly cause terror in ACC defenses for years to come.

    4* ATH Matt Baker #54 (#11 ATH) 73 OVR
This guy will most likely be a defensive back, though its yet to be seen if he'll be a FS or CB. At 6-2 and 179lbs he is certainly built more like a CB and those above-average catching abilities could help cement the CB situation.

Fsu landed a 4* ATH, I'm not sure what his true rating is as i did not scout him. I guess it will be a wait and see with the guy.

I have 17 seniors plus 2 available roster spots. Do we still count a 2 scholarship cushion each year as well? If so I have 21 spots available.

I picked up one instant commit, Kenny Collins a 6'4'' 263lb 3* DE who looks to be a gem, 76 overall after +7 so far at 78% scouted.

that is always fun to find, I initially started blasting an hour into each recruit during offseason, but I found that when you only do 40 you get the giest of who is going to go up and who is going to drop in rating. It allows you to have enough time to scout those 3 start guys and find the gems.

Are there any recruiting restrictions as far as how many 5 and 4 stars guys we can sign?

Two more signings for Virginia Tech.

    4* DT Dylan Wiggens #192 (#12 DT) 78 OVR
Big and lean, he will be an excellent pass rusher for VT.

    4* OT Jeff McDuffie #196 (#12 OT) 76 OVR
Solid in all aspects, should develop into a starter

Man, kids these days just do not respect A&M. So far just one 3* TE. Have a few kids with soft commits.

Coming into recruiting week 4 left me at a real disadvantage. CPU was recruiting 7 guards. 7?! I have two commits, a C and TE both middle of the line 3* guys. Sheesh.

rule of thumb though is that you can never have enough linemen. Both O and D that goes for.

Aggies pick up two commitments this week. Anthony Edwards is a 6-2 250 big back that will see early playing time for the Ags. Edwards comes in with surprising speed for a kid his size but will mostly be used to block, not many catches.
    Edwards.jpg

John Wood comes to College Station at the WR position trying to fill in for the seniors leaving this year. He shows great burst of speed of the snap and will have to compete with some of the young talent at WR. The Ags have gotten the 3 commits on the offensive side but should have many defensive players commit soon.

A&M picked up a QB and a pair of MLBs to bring their commitment total up to 6 on the year. Ryan Montgomery comes in behind a fairly deep group and will probably redshirt his first year with the Ags. Nate Tyler is a thick JUCO transfer with deceiving speed for a kid his size. He has a good jump off the snap and can hold his own up the middle. Victor Wallace comes in with expectations to see the field his first year. He will be helping fill the void as A&M reloads their LB corps. Wallace has great acceleration and shows good moves at getting off some blocks and in coverage. Look for him to make an impact early for the Ags. A&M has a few other high sought after prospects that have given verbal commitments but have not yet pulled the trigger.
