almost bit the dust in week 1. Struggled like no tomorrow on offense, I pick up a fumble with 0:01 left in the 4th for a go ahead touchdown to win 21-14. I posted a quick recap not much detail on the dynasty hub I was in a rush.

The "Coach Boom" era has begun! Florida opened up its season in impressive fashion against overmatched FAU. After the overcoming some first quarter jitters, Florida looked good, real good. UF tallied over 300 yards rushing with impressive runs from Demps, Rainey, Gilleslie, and even Andre Dubose. The 1st team got to sit the last series of the 3rd quarter and the entire 4th quarter.

Brantely looked sharp connecting with a 45 yard streak to Deonte Thompson. Freshman phenom Jeff Driskel gave the offense a new wrinkle with a couple of nice option runs.

    FYI to all members.

Make sure we are reading and following the rules that are in the League Description section of our forum. I check stats every week and as soon as games are played and the stats are on the Dynasty Wire. If I see anything that is bogus, such as running up the score late, keeping in starters, not punting.kicking on 4th down and having 4th down conversions and attempts during blowouts, just stats that are not sim, you will face punishment up to and including removal from the league. Which could involve repercussion from the site.

#11 Wisconsin played host to the UNLV Rebels in the opening week of play. The Badgers looked stout on defense from the first series of the game holding the Rebels to a 3 and out which would happen several more times during day. One safety was recorded when UNLV, who was on their 4 yard line after an amazing punt from Brad Nortman, ran an option play and the ball was fumbled through the side of the endzone.

The stars of the defense were Beau Allen who ended the game with 2 tackles and 2 sacks, and Devin Smith who scored off an interception in the 3rd Qtr.

Throughout the game, moreso in the first half, the Badger passing game was its own worst enemy. Russell Wilson would end the day with 1 TD to 3 INTs going 10-22 for 164 yards. The redshirt senior Nick Toon, the leader of the wide receiver corp, caught 5 passes for 77 yards though no touchdowns. Jared Abbrederis, the (RS) Sophmore, would catch 2 passes for 43 yards and 1 TD. A few other players got in on the passing game with 1 catch a piece.

The real stars of the game were the running backs James White and Montee Ball who combined for a total of 244 yards, and 3 TDs. Wisconsin hopes that the running game will continue on strong through the season to help aid in the passing game of the highly touted Wilson, and keep their first half struggles to the first game of the season.

The Badgers pulled their starters in the 4th Qtr, though the second string, while running the ball exclusively, still managed to score once due to poor tackling by the Rebels.

Wisconsin now turns their attention to Clemson, South Carolina where the Tigers await in what is sure to be an exciting Big 10 - ACC battle in the second week of the young season.

The Noles took the field last night at TCU and it was a much anticipated first game for Florida State. Being ranked in the top 10 after the "lost decade" carries a lot of weight on the this program. TCU has been a team over the past several years that has been knocking on the door of greatness. This game at TCU for Florida State was a big measuring stick for the FSU program and what this team could build around for the 2011 season.

The games started fast and ended slow for the 2011 Florida State Seminoles. After getting a stop and score on their first defensive and offensive opportunities the Noels carried a 28-0 halftim lead. Manuel was sacked a few times but ended up hitting 8/11 for 150+ yards and 2 TD's. The game appeard to be in hand so Fisher pulled his starters but to open the 3rd quarter Freshman Devonte Freeman took the opening kickoff of the half 97 yards for a score. Freeman also ended the game as the MVP due to his kick return and ability to continually move the the chains for offensive unit and wear out the clock.

The 4-2-5 the Horned Frogs were using was very soft as sometimes the would have no one in the middle of the field allowing the Florida State ground game to shred the defense. We think this was more of a coaching issues than personnel issues.

Things are sure to change and change quickly with the #1 team in the land (Oklahoma) coming to tally in 2 weeks.

    Miami Gets Past Maryland

Miami started the Yr off with a Big Acc Matchup vs the Terps. and Miami didn't need their passing game much as Lamar Miller stole the show as he rushed for a career high 276 yrds and 3 Td's. Harris still threw for 181 yrds and 1 td. But it was the Miller show today. Miller started the game with a Big 72 yrd run for a td, then added a 59 yrder later in the 4th quarter. Maryland wouldn't go away as their QB threw for over 300+ in the game. Miami held a 27-10 HT lead Then stretched it to 34-10 before Maryland woke up and got to 34-24 before Miami scored on the Miller run and Maryland scored again to trim Miami's lead to 41-31. Then Miami picked up crucial FD's to close the game out as Miami wins their season opener.

    Next Week Miami Battles UT.

    Clemson Claws Trojans

    [IMG][IMG]

    23 - 0

Troy, Alabama - Clemson took on the Trojans of Troy University in their opening game of the 2011 season and played a near perfect game. There were problems along the way, but the defense held Troy to zero points and the offense found success in the running game. HB Andre Ellington had a record setting game with 241 yards and 3 TDs on 30 carries. QB Tahj Boyd has work to do as he only completed 4 of his 12 passes and threw 1 interception. His patience needs to improve in order for his accuracy to get better. The defense faired well holding Troy to 258 yards of total offense, but not surrendering any points. Next week, Clemson will talk on the Wisconsin Badgers in a big cross conference meeting.

The Champs go down in flaming flames to Mississippi State 38-7

Auburn's head coach Gene Chizik knew coming into the 2011 season, his team was unlikely to repeat the year before but after the 1st half of the Mississippi St game, Chizik said this team looks like it could struggle to even see a bowl game with the way it went down. Auburn's defense was embarrassed by giving up 38 points, the offense was held to 20 yards in the first half with the quarterback musician chairs. Chizik settled on letting the young true freshman Kiehl Frazier get his feet wet and took all the snaps and led the team on it's lone touchdown pass to Emory Blake in the 3rd quarter. Mississippi State's Dan Mullen has done magic with the Bulldogs in the short time he has been the coach and looks to keep improving and this win maybe the one it needed. Chris Relf was named player of the game with his 244 yards in the air and 3 touchdowns. Auburn will look to rebound next week with another up and coming team Washington.

    Tigers Maul Badgers

    14 - 42

Clemson, SC - The Tigers played host to the 9th ranked Badgers of Wisconsin. Both teams knew going in it was going to be a physical game, but nobody knew the outcome would be what it was. The Clemson defense pulverized the Wisconsin offense at the tune of 5 interceptions by 5 different Tigers. They held Wisconsin to 208 yards of total offense and only 38 on the ground. For the Clemson offense, Tahj Boyd led the assault. He completed 7 of 10 passes for 216 YDs and 4 TDs. HB Andre Ellington managed 88 yards on 18 carries and a score. WR Hopkins caught 2 passes on the day for 108 yards, both for TDs. Next week for Clemson, they continue their Big10 party by hosting the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Miami Takes on Tenn In Orange Country, Upend the Vols 24-14.

Knox- Coming into the Game Miami knew they had to play well to pull out the win in Hostile Territory. early on It was the Defense that Made a Statement as Bray tried to squeeze a pass and it was picked off and returned to the Tenn 4 yrd line. Then Miller took the Handoff and found paydirt as Miami went up 7-0. Then in the 2nd quarter Bray was picked off again and again Miami made Tenn pay for their mistakes as they drove it to the 1 yrd line and Fb Hagans went in and Miami extended the lead to 14-0. Then seconds later Tenn found life as they crossed mid-field and then Bray found his reciever Hunter and a Big 39 yrd Td to cut the Miami lead to 14-7 as they Half ended.

2nd Half found both Defenses ready for a fight as they traded blows most of the quarter. Then on Miami's next drive Harris found his Reciever Byrd and he took it for 51 yrds and a Huge TD for the Hurricanes and a 21-7 lead. Tenn tried as they might got a drive together and went for it on 4th down and The reciever Dropped it, One of Many for Tenn in this game specially in Crucial situations. Then later in the 4th, Miami tried a sideline pass and it was picked and returned for a td and Tenn was down 21-14. Then Miami put together the Drive to end the game. As they moved the ball down thanks to their Rb Harris who broke a huge 44 yrd run and Miami continued to melt the clock. Then on 3rd down Harris was sacked and then Wieclaw nailed a 40 yrd FG to put Miami up 24-14. Tenn tried a drive but again the case of the Drops again for Tenn as they Turned the Ball over and Miami Killed the rest of the clock for the win.

    Miami is Now 2-0

    Leaders
Miller 24 carries for 119 yrds and 1 td.
Harris was 4-10 for 82 yrds and 1 td and 1 int.
Byrd was the leading reciever for the Canes with 51 yrds and 1 Td.
Leading Tackler for Miami was Cain with 9 tackles and 5 solo and 4 assisted and 1 Int.
LB Futch Had the Other Int. His stats were 4 tackles and 3 solo 1 assisted and 1 Int.

Next Week a Rematch Vs The Ohio St.

Florida shocked at home by in-state rival USF. 44-28

Well, everyone is Gator country was expecting a rebuilding year. They just didn't expect this. BJ Daniels came into the Swamp and dominated. He threw the ball all over the field. When he wasn't finding open receivers he was using his legs to carve the Gator defense. Daniels was the story of the game and Florida's inability to stop him. What a difference a quarterback makes.

The Gators looked in control early. After running the opening kickoff for a score and marching down the field for a touch on their 1st possession, the Gators were looking to continue the momentum from last week. Brantley played o.k. only 1 interception, but he missed on several 3rd down conversions. Brantley is going to have another opportunity to keep his starting role next week when Tennessee rolls into town. The running game never got going. Demps averaged 1.6 per carry. This is a far cry from his ability. The smaller speed back just don't fit Coach Boom's offensive game plan. He is going to have to recruite some serious tailback with size and power.

A couple of stars are starting to emerge on Defense. Super Sophomore's Jelani Jenkins and Matt Elam continue to shine. They were the lone bright spot on the defense. Each player had double digit tackles. Jenkins earned his second forced fumble in as many weeks. many of his tackles were behind the line of scrimmage.

Tennessee rolls into town next week and the month of October is just around the corner. Florida has the toughest schedule in the country during that month. Games against defending National Champions Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and wrapping up in Jacksonville against UGA. These coming weeks will be a test of character for the Gators. It will be fun just to sit back and watch.

    Go Gators!

Taylor Martinez left the field tired and angry at his offensive line

First home game of the year coming off of a big win on the road Taylor Martinez came into this game feeling confident and all he got was an earful from Fresno State D ALL GAME. He had to scramble to stay alive in the pocket leaving him with, what the coach says, 'unacceptable' 13 carries. Coach after the game said 'there is no way I want my QB running like that he can get hurt, but when that's the only option you have is to use your legs because you have no time to throw it's what has to been done. Quote me now, we will be more prepared next week when we play Clemson!' Coach was very angry and left the conference room throwing a chair because he could not believe the way his team played. It felt like the whole Nebraska football squad gave up tonight. Let's hope they can switch it around before a big game vs. Clemson.

Manuel and Seminole Freshmen Shine Against Lowly FIU

The Seminoles were not overlooking FIU with the big game against Oklahoma looming next week. Manuel played great football into the early 3rd quarter. Manuel hit on 8/11 for 288 yards and 3 TD's to 3 different wide receivers before being pulled to rest for next weeks game against Oklahoma. Manuel was quoted as saying "that when you prepare and study for a test there is no reason to be nervous about taking the test. I have done everything that coach Fisher has asked and I am completely comfortable with this offense and the players we have on the field. We are ready for this game against Oklahoma and what they did to us last year. We need to make a statement this week".

Manuel wasn't the only player that shined for the Seminoles. Week one Devonte Freeman had a huge kickoff return and nearly a hundred yards on the ground. This week James Wilder Jr. came into the game and punished FIU's run defense. Wilder had 9 carries for 115 yards including a 50 yard run and 1 TD. Not to be put on the back burner Freeman who stared in week one came in alongside of Wilder and totaled 12 carries for 83 yards and 2 TD's. These two backs that Seminoles have are without question the future of the offense.

Next up is a huge game against the #1 Oklahoma Sooners in what will surely be the game of the young 2012 season.

Seminoles dominate Sooners in revenge game

One year after being thumped by Oklahoma and thoroughly embarrassed there was a lot of talk all summer about how bug this game would be formthe Noles and what it would mean to this program to payback the sooners for the beating they took in 2010.

The effort of the day came from the defense where senior Terrance Parks registered 2 int's one FF and resulted for 2 scores on his own. Rising junior Chris Thompson went over 200 yards with help from a 97 yard dash and smash to punctuate the game. The lone downside was junior QB EJ Manual. He started off hot hitting Sr TE Beau Reliford for a 31 yard TD but endedbeing sacked 6 times and throwing 3 ints, one being a pick 6. The pass protection was a big problem for the offense and was a major reason for the bad game that Manuel had.

Next week the ACC conference play gets going with a big game. Can the Noles stay on a high after the big payback win against Oklahoma? Or will clemson protect their house at death valley and get the early leg up and pace the way to the ACC championship game?

Nebraska Wins In A Close Overtime Road Victory

A week after losing to a no name team coach had his team out on the field the very next day working with the offensive line and trying to find answers on the offensive side. Coach knew that going into this game he had quite the handful as he had to face the Week 2 Off POTW Tahj Boyd. Also coach sent a lot of focus on Andre Ellington as he has had both weeks filled with huge games. He knew he had quite the handful with these two guys. Coach after the game, 'I was very impressed with the defense holding down the fort like they did, there were a couple of times that I thought for sure they were going to fold and give up a touchdown but man was I wrong'. Defense should feel proud of themselves for only giving up 5 yards on 10 rushes from Andre Ellington. Clemson did find other ways but yet again in the 2nd possession for Clemson in OT Tahj Boyd drops back and throws a pick that ended up costing the game.

Rex Burkhead was the difference in the game and I think both coaches can agree. Even though he didn't register the lone touchdown for Nebraska, he keep pushing the ball down the throats of Clemson. "He was finding weaknesses in the defense all night. From the first 20 yard run to the last 8 yard run he had them in his hands all game." Rex is a good Senior to have on any team and we are lucky to have him teaching our Freshman Aaron Green who saw a lot of action Week 1 but has yet to find the field since. Coach may have to make some arrangements to let the freshman on the field.

Frazier with the comeback, down 21-0

Auburn drug themselfs out of a early 21-0 game at half with the arm & legs of freshman Kiehl Frazier. Frazier accounted for 3 touchdowns with the game winning touchdown with 0:11 left with no time outs, Frazier led the Auburn Tigers down the field from the 30 yard line to find Quinn Carr in the endzone to take the 28-27 lead leaving little hope of the Huskiers to come back. Auburn's defense played great in the 2nd half, causing a interception with 3:05 left in the game down 6 points giving the Tigers great field position but 2 plays later Kiehl Frazier turned over the ball, Auburn is forced to burn all 3 time outs before getting the ball back to the offense with 1:14 left and Frazier made up for his 3 interceptions with a game winning drive.

Nebraska wins in 2nd half of Wyoming game

Going into this weeks game Taylor Martinez was overlooking the game while he threw 4 picks and fumbled twice. After getting more than an earful from the Coach he was threatened on losing his job. With the threats he had to return some kind of offense to keep his job. He had to use his legs to get his confidence before he threw 2 touchdowns. During the game the Cornhuskers lost running back Rex Burkhead for the remainder of the game this leaving speedy Fresh Aaron Green and powerful Soph Mike Marrow to take control. While Green got the yards and a late td Marrow was getting the ground and pound yards. Marrow standing at 6'2 235 had nothing but praise from coaches. "He really helped us in the short yardage and even found the endzone a couple of times that gave us the lead, also having (Aaron) Green back there and getting a late td to put a cap to the game really helped. I think having Rex on the bench does hurt because we do like to give him the rock but this is giving our young RB staff some looks and we like what we have to work with once Rex leaves this season." While the Coaches seem happy with the future they still need to focus on this year. The year is not over yet and next week they have to travel to Wisconsin to face the Badgers. This is a must win game and they know it so expect this team to be crisp going into the Wisconsin game.

    Clemson Closes out Hokies

The Clemson Tigers took to the road and headed to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies and walked away with a very impressive 28-16 victory. HB Andre Ellington managed all 4 touchdowns and the defense sacked QB Logan Thomas 6 times on the day.

#1 team in the country goes down in an upset!

    [IMG][IMG]

#1 Alabama got stuffed in "The Swamp." The Crimson Tide couldn't figure out the Gator defense. Coach Boom came up with a game plan that held the Tide without an offensive touchdown. Florida's offense did just enough to bring home the "W".

Jelani Jenkins continues to be the start of this season. He is really coming into his own and the voters for the Butkus award must take note. Jenkins set the tone for the entire game in the 1st quarter. Jenkins intercepted and pass and took it to the house to give the Gators a 7-0 lead. Alabama just couldn't get it going.

A stable of runners for Florida controlled the game. Efforts by Demps, Rainey, and Burton dominated the clock to give the Gators the edge in time of possession. Brantley got it done by being a game manager.

Florida looks to build on this momentum as they look to the rest of the month. Upcoming games with LSU, Auburn, and Georgia await.
