Instead of weekly summary threads, we will keep one continuous thread. Every summary should go here, and posting summaries is mandatory for victories.

The Buffaloes kicked off their season with a win. While it wasn't pretty, the Bufs beat their rivals in Mile High Stadium.

Player of the game RB Rodney Stewart 123 yards and 2 TDs.
Next up for Colorado is a trip to College Park to take on Maryland.

    The Good:

We should have a pretty high octane passing offense. I'm running the no-huddle this year with the Syracuse playbook.
Redshirt sophmore QB Sean Renfree went 17/27 331 yards with 3 TD's no INTS.
Our two impact WR's contributed to the passing game as each caught a TD, and Donovan Varner had 4 catches for 92yards and a TD

    The Bad:
Our rushing game is PISS POOR. HB Desmond Scott had 13 carries for 36 yards, and his backup J. Hollingsworth had 5 carries for 7 yards.
Our defense is bad. We gave up 330 yards passing and 50 rushing yards.
We stall in the redzone. We had 3 FG's inside the ten.

    New season new coach

As the start of the 2010 season got underway it looked like NC State was going to have a terrible season. Heading into the 4th quarter the offense had struggled, the defense was giving up yards and the score was tied 10-10 against the Arkansas State Redwolves a team NC State was favored by 21 to. Then their new head coach stepped up and showed that he is here to make changes and to show these kids how to play football and lead them to victory. He got into Junior QB Wilson's face and told him to step up or go home. Wilson got the message, throwing 2 quick TD passes, and the running game soon followed. NC State managed to put up 28 points in the final quarter 2 in the air and 2 on the ground in a blow out win.
    Final Score
NC State 38 Arkansas State 10
    Key Stats
    Passing
    Russell Wilson 12-26 211 yards 3 TD 0 INT
    Rushing
Mustafa Green 22 attempts 108 yards 1 TD
Dean Haynes 10 attempts 83 yards 1 TD

14 of the 22 fourth quarter points came on LTU fumbles which I ran back for TDs.

    Ole Miss Week 1

    Ole Miss 51 WVU 48 (3OT)
When it comes to football for the university of Mississippi, success hasn't been a constant. The Rebels always were in the shadows of the heavy hitters in the SEC. This year they bring in a new ball coach and start of the season in dramatic fashion. Whats the best way to put your fans on heart attack alert early? Triple overtime against a top tier team. The Rebels did just that on the road in Morgantown against the Big East's West Virginia Mountaineers. The two teams would trade scores back and forth the entire 1st quarter, 14-14 after 1. They couldn't go into the half without being deadlocked either, 21-21 at the half. Masoli, transfer from Oregon, was having a great game. He contributed to every touchdown in the first half, 2 passing TDs and a rushing TD. Things got intense for the Rebels in the second half, nse buckled down and stopped the 2 point conversion attempt HB Bolden would a 26 yard run to give Ole Miss the lead, but the Mountaineers would feed off the home crowd to score twice, a Noel Devine TD run and a 22 yard field goal. Ole Miss would not be able to find much help and turned the ball over with little time left in the game. With under a minute to play, WVU found space and converted for a first down, giving them the edge. Ole Miss had 2 timeouts remaining and would use one. WVU would call a HB dive with 50 seconds remaining. The Rebel defense drooled at the opportunity and forced the fumble. Ole Miss ball with 45 seconds left in the game. Masoli would lead the team into field goal range and the Rebels would tie the game at the end of regulation, sending it to overtime. Neither team seemed to get an edge in the first two OTs. Neither defense played well enough to make it a challenge. In the 3rd however, the Ole Miss defense would buckle down and force a WVU FG. It wouldn't take the Rebels long and Jeremiah Masoli found space to break a 3 yard run for the game winning touchdown, 51-48 Rebels in Morgantown! Next week the Rebels head home to The Grove and await another big meeting, this time against the ACC's NC State Wolfpack.

Vandy drops opener, 22 to 14
Vanderbilt fell in their opener 22 to 14 to Northwestern on Saturday in a game that saw Vandy's late rally led by backup quarterback Jordan Rodgers come up short. It was described as a very frustrating loss by the coaching staff. I feel particularly bad for the defense, because they played absolutely amazing, lights out... they gave up 22 points yes, but that was 5 field goals and only 1 touchdown, very proud of their effort and intensity," said Coach Hickerson. The defense was led by junior middle linebacker Chris Marve, who had 10 tackles, 5 for a loss. "Chris was all over the field, in coverage, in the backfield, everywhere... this defense will win some games for us this year if they play with that effort every week," said Hickerson. The offense was another story, starting quarterback Larry Smith struggled mightily, going 7 for 21 for only 37 yards and fumbled once. Backup, Jordan Rodgers numbers did not look much better, going 3 for 10 and an interception, but he led the team much better, seemed more confident and poised at the position, needless to say the talk this week will be who will play quarterback next week for the 'Dores. Star sophomore tailback Warren Norman had 15 carries for 91 yards, but all 91 were very hard fought. "We couldn't get Warren going, we did not block well at all on the edge today and we have to get that fixed," said the offensive coordinator Tyler Utley, "We also need to get Zach(the backup tailback) some more carries, he only carried the ball 1 time, we need to get him more involved as well to keep Warren fresh."
Vanderbilt opens SEC play next week as they host LSU(im scared).

Arkansas pulls out a 4th quarter win! WE trailed the entire game by a TD or FG. With 1 minute left QB ryan mallet hit freshman TE Chriss Cragg on a PA pass to take the lead!

The key to the game came down to time of possession! Arkansas owned the ball for almost 20 minutes compared to Fresnos 8:30!

Ryan Mallet while pulling out the win..still had an up and down game. Throwiing for over 400 yards and 4 TDs but also being picked off 3 times!

First game - USC 50, SO Miss 9 Lattimore went crazy and ran all over So Miss for 300 yards. Garcia was terrible and couldn't hit any deep passes. Our defense gave up lots of yardage but forced turnovers when needed. It was a nice tuneup for UGA.

Second Game - UGA 25, USC 22. This was a battle the whole way. We lucked out when Aaron Murray was unavailable due to injury. We held the lead for most of the game but couldn't win it. UGA kicked a fg with a few minutes left to go up 17-16. We drove the ball to midfield but then Lattimore fumbled and UGA recovered and ran it back in fg range. The defense sacked the UGA QB and forced a punt. UGA downed the punt at the 2...long field ahead. Garcia managed to drive us down the field with short passes. With 26 seconds left Garcia threw a 31 td pass to put us back in the lead 22-17 (We missed the 2 point conversion).Somehow...somehow UGA managed to drive down the field in 26 seconds and throw a td pass with no time left. It was so heartbreaking I can barely write about it.

Once again, Garcia was good on the short passes but just terrible on anything downfield. UGA's defense did a good job of slowing down Lattimore and holding him to 105 yards. I'm still getting used to USC's playbook but i still expect big things down the road.

They carved me up offensively, but our offensive passing game was once again explosive. Game came down to the final possession where Duke got it's first sack of the game on third down and the clock ran out.

Duke is 2 and fucking 0.

This was a close home game for the Wildcats. Daniel Thomas played well with 69 yards rushing and 50+ receiving. The Kansas Defense made some key stops and played fairly well. The grade for the first game was B-.

Well it was an embarrassing day for the Buffaloes as they flew across country to Maryland. Colorado should have turned around and went home after the first series when a Maryland WR caught a pass on third down and was tackled behind the marker but fumbled forward for a first down. Maryland would take a 7-0 lead on that drive. After Maryland went up 17-0, Colorado would come storming back to make it 17-14 with 20 seconds left in the first half. On the next kickoff, Maryland returned it back for a TD.

It was all downhill from there. Good game Bigtubb.

    Week 2

Vanderbilt Falls to 0-2, loses 30 to 20
A valiant Vanderbilt come back fell short on Saturday against the LSU Tigers and fell to 0-2 on the young season, and 0-1 in SEC play. The Dores' lost 30 to 20 after trailing 27-10 with less than 4 minutes remaining in the game. Vanderbilt cut the deficit, which started out 17-0, to 17-10 in the third quarter, but quarterback Jordan Rodgers was his as he threw and a LSU defensive lineman picked off the pass and returned it for a touchdown. Here was Coach Hickerson after the game - "I learned three things about our team today, number 1 is we do not quit, we trailed 17-0 and 27-10, and both times we fought back and got it to a one score game, if we get that onside kick at the end there, before they kicked the field goal to seal it, who knows what would have happened, all we ask is that we have a chance at the end of the game, and today, we did, as slim as it was, it was still a chance, thanks to our guys heart and effort, and never say die attitude. Number two thing we learned, we HAVE to get our run game going somehow, Warren(Norman) had 7 carries like 8 yards I think, it was non existent and we have to figure that out, if you cant run the ball, you arent going to win in this league. Third thing, Jordan Rodgers is our quarterback, that kid played with grit and toughness, he was being hit all the time, due to our lack of a running game, but stood in there and made some very impressive throws, he threw into coverage a little, but I told him you cant make a play unless you try, he is going to be a good one for us." Rodgers certainly looked the part of a gunslinger, going 17 for 32 for 391 yards and two touchdowns, also two interceptions, that explains the gunslinger part. However he did a great job of spreading the ball around and really made some excellent throws. His favorite targets were tight end Brandon Barden who caught 5 passes for 145 yards. Wide outs John Cole, 4 catches for 75 yards; Udom Umoh, 3 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown; and freshman Jonathan Krause who hauled in 3 catches for 36 yards and a touchdown.
