    Richardson Impressive In Browns' Debut
    Philadelphia ( Ghost )- 27
    Cleveland ( dj illmatic 23 )- 38
The Cleveland Browns open the season with an impressive win as they defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-27. The Browns used a power running game, and an opprotunistic defense to pull away from the Eagles who kept it close early. Both teams traded punts on the first few possesions as they tried to feel each other out. The Browns finally put together a long drive, and capped it off with a 6 yard TD pass from QB Brandon Weeden to Josh Cribbs. The Eagles answered back on the ensuing kick-off when WR DeShaun Jackson returned the kick 99 yards for a TD. This took some of the steam out of the Browns to give up the lead so quickly. Trying to answer back, Weeden threw a pick on the next play from scrimmage. This set up a 4 yard TD pass from QB Mike Vick to FB Stanley Havili. Despite the terrible series of plays, the Browns would show resolve, and go on an incredible run of 31 unanswered points. HB Trent Richardson started the run when he ran one in from 23 yards out. The Browns defense would make the next two big plays. First, CB Joe Haden intercepted a pass intended for Jackson and return it 52 yards for the TD. This gave the Browns a 21-14 half-time lead.
The Eagles would come out in the second half and force the Browns to punt on their opening posession. Cleveland's punt team managed to down the ball inside the one yard line, setting up the play that changed the game. Trying to fight for yards and get the Eagles some breathing room, HB LeSean McCoy fumbled the ball and Browns DT Ahtyba Rubin scooped it up for the TD. The Browns would add a 40 yard FG, and go into the fourth leading 31-14. Trent Richardson continued to have his way with the Eagles in the fourth, as Cleveland marched down the field. Richardson would add his second TD of the game on a 29 yard TD run. Up 38-14, the Browns decided to pull Richardson to avoid any injuries. The Eagles tacked on two late TD's, a 1 yard TD run by McCoy and a 20 yard TD to WR Damaris Johnson to make the final score 38-27. The Browns will look to continue their success next week as they travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. Meanwhile, the Eagles will look to rebound next week at home against the Ravens.
