    SEASON ONE WEEK ONE
    [IMG]

1.) Fill out pre-season survey and post your team preview before kicking off season one.
2.) Please read all the rules and familiarize yourself with them if you haven't already.
3.) Post game summaries and all weekly banter into this thread.
4.) I am going to create a recruiting thread, and it is up to everyone to decide if they simply want to post their recruits or do something creative such as utilizing google docs. Everyone is required to keep us up to date on commits and provide some sort of analysis or extra information (attributes, measurables, where he fits into your team, etc.). Nothing big, but don't just tell us you picked up a 3 star OLB.
5.) I will be setting up the ACC v Big XII challenge. Bragging rights and benefits are on the line. We have a few of these to kickoff week one.
6.) Everyone needs to schedule their games in the game scheduling subforum. Don't post here trying to do that. If a scheduling conflict or a one particular member doesn't do their job scheduling a user game, I will judge it based on what is posted in that forum. If you habitually post in the game summaries forum actively trying to setup a kickoff time with your opponent you will never have to take a sim-result. These will only be applied if both parties actively try to schedule and can't find a time, or if neither party actively schedules or finds a time to play.
    7.) LET'S PLAY BALL! :)

I forgot to implement the sliders, but thankfully LSUTRUTH set it on Heisman default for recruiting and gameplay. We'll stick with heisman default for season one, but may consider some small tweaks throughout the season if a change becomes extremely obvious for the better.

    OKSU downs Michigan 35-12
OKSU received the ball and would begin the drive against #9 Michigan. 2 Randle runs later it would be 3rd and 10. Lunt would be pressured on the next play and forced to dump it off leading to a 1 yard gain and thats how the game began.
Michigan lacked answers for the OKSU defense the whole game as Denard would constantly be getting killed by OKSU. They would force a michigan punt off a three and out.
The two teams would trade three and outs and on the brink of another Lunt connected with Stewart for 23 yards on a wheel route setting up first and goal. Lunt would score on a qb read option the next play. Basicly ending the quarter at 7-0 OKSU
OKSU would begin the drive just like they finished the last on fire. Lunt would connect on passes of 19 and 22 on the drive and would also contribute a 10 yard rush as OKSU would march down and add 7 more to the score board. 14-0 OKSU
Michigan unable to do anything relied on its defense to make big plays. Down 14-0 they would destroy Joe Randle causing a fumble leading to a Def TD cutting the score to 14-7 OKSU. An Interception thrown by Lunt on the next drive by Lunt gave Michigan a chance to tie but OKSU held to a FG after Robinson was again confused and tried to take off.
The second half continued from the first. Michigans offense was bad and the defense was hurt by big plays a 55 yard read option by Lunt would set OKSU up for an easy TD run by Randle. 21-10 OKSU
Michigans offense was TERRIBLE again stopped by OKSU defense and again a big run occured this time by Rnadle from 64 yards out. Putting OKSU up 28-10
The rest of the game would leave you wanting more great defense played by both clubs including a late Michigan Safety and a Lunt TD pass to seal the game up at 35-12.
Keys - 0 Life from the Michigan offense. Defense played solid yet allowed big plays.
Lunt is good. Big arm. Randle is good as well.

As the fans walked into Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia they knew it was going to be a live atmosphere. Taking on the #2 USC Trojans for their first game of the season the Cavaliers knew they had something to prove. As fans still crowded the stadium the cameras went inside the Cavalier locker room and saw coach Cougs giving his team a pre-game speech. "Guys, we worked our asses off all offseason, practiced our hearts out and all we left on our practice field was our sweat, and blood. We can take on any team in the FBS, you guys have nothing but talent and god damn it, we are going to go prove it to the world!" The team then stood up and went crazy and rushed out the locker room with coach Cougs right behind them. The crowd erupted when the Cavaliers came out the locker room and the sun shined off their helmets as coach Cougs said to himself "thank god it's football season." Both coaches went to the middle of the field to shake hands and the team captains went out for the coin toss. The USC Trojans loss the toss but the Cavaliers chose to kick off. Both team captains rushed back to their sideline, anxious to start the game. The Cavaliers kicked off and there was no chance for a return, it was a touchback. The USC Trojans looked like an NFL team compared to the Cavaliers having a top notch offense. On the Trojans third play of the game they threw a pick right to Demetrius Nicholson who took it back for a touchdown. The crowd erupted and the team gathered around him to celebrate the phenomenal play that just took place and the Cavaliers made the PAT to make it 7-0 early. On USC's next possession the Cavaliers played great defense and forced them to punt the ball away. Now it was time for Virginia's offense to show the Trojans that they weren't no cupcake team and they showed up. Perry Jones, and Philip Sims were able to drive down the field without a problem but Sims tried to force a throw into a small window and it was picked off and returned for 64 yards for a Trojan touchdown. Coach Cougs just told him to relax we will get those points back. As the Cavaliers had a drive that pretty much ate up the rest of the first quarter they managed to get a field goal to make it 10-7. In the second quarter the Cavalier defense played stellar defense. Not giving up any touchdowns, but they sure had a hard time stopping the run. USC drove down the field and kicked a field goal and made it 10-10. USC kicked off and Demetrius Nicholson took off from deep in his endzone and made a sharp cut to his left and a USC defender went to the ground which allowed Nicholson to have a good return before he was pushed out of bounds. The crowd was excited to see how their Cavaliers were playing #2 USC. On this drive it was all about Sims. He picked apart the USC secondary like they were a junior varsity high school squad. It set up a Zack Swanson 2 yard TD run to put the Cavaliers up 17-10. The Trojans came out after that drive and they didn't have an answer and was forced to punt. The Cavaliers went to a balanced attack and man they had the Trojans on their heels. When Sims would see the LB's way off the line he would audible to a run play and Perry Jones would work his magic. The Cavaliers were on the six yard line when Sims found wide open tight end Colter Phillips for a touchdown pass which put the Cavaliers up 24-10 with :45 seconds left in the first half. The crowd was really into this game. But the Trojans decided to shut them up and ran a great 2 minute drill but they were only able to put up 3 points and the Cavaliers went into the locker room with a 24-13 lead. In the locker room coach Cougs told his team this "You guys are doing a hell of a job out there. You guys are playing with heart, defense keep doing what your doing, offense keep doing what your doing. We are going with a conservative approach this half and I want you to keep this lead." The Cavaliers went out in the second half and got the ball. The drove down the field but they weren't able to score a touchdown and settled for a field goal which put them up 27-13. The USC coaching staff were scratching their heads they didn't know what was going on. But the Trojans got the ball back and they went down and scored easily, which left coach Cougs with a dazed look on his face. The Trojans were only down one score now. The Cavaliers led going into the 4th quarter 27-20. The Cavaliers know they needed to score a touchdown this drive but just couldn't find the endzone and they kicked a field goal to go up 30-20. USC's next drive they meant serious business. For some reason the Cavaliers just couldn't wrap up and the Trojans were gaining 10+ yds a run each time. Coach Cougs told them to wrap up constantly but nothing, the Trojans ran the ball down the Cavaliers throat for an easy score. The Cavaliers led 30-27 with 5:09 left in the game. The Trojans kicked it off which was a touchback. The Cavaliers knew they had to try and chew the clock or score a touchdown. So they handed it off to Perry Jones, who found a gaping hole to his left and he hit the hole fast, juked the Trojan LB out of his shoes and cut back to his right and then shook another defender and Perry Jones took it to the endzone on a 80 yard run the crowd went absolutely nuts after that run and coach Cougs couldn't believe it. The Cavaliers went up 37-27 with 4:56 left in the game. The Trojans then drove down the field to score with 2:44 left in the game but the Cavaliers held on to win their first game of the season 37-34.

The Cavaliers outgained the Trojans in total offense 460-399, the Cavaliers ran the ball for 252 yards.

Perry Jones- 19 Car, 221 yards, TD.

Also the Cavaliers were able to sign *** SS, Brian Johnson. He won't be getting any PT soon and he will be lucky if he gets any PT at all.

The Hokies are able to hold off the Yellow Jackets and walk away with a season opening win. It wasn't pretty and at times the Hokies seemed to play a little nervous on offense especially on 3rd down going 3/9. Logan Thomas had the play of the day as he shook off a defender and hit a streaking EL SMiling for 69yd TD. Thomas finished the day 13/21 212yds 2 TD 1 INT. RB Michael Holmes debut was respectful with 83yds TD. Smiling was the target of choice finishing the day with 136yds 2 TD.

The highly touted defense didn't live up to the hype today as it couldn't solve the triple option of GT giving up 275yds of offense. Daid SIms was the lead man for the Yellow Jackets with 127yds. GT was also able to convert 4/4 4th down conversions in their late comeback attmept only to run out of time.

This matchup has produced the winner of the Coastal division since the ACC expanded to 12 teams, so if VT can improve after this win teh same should be expected.

Offensive Game Ball- QB Logan Thomas 212yds 2 TD
Defensive Game- Antoine Hopkins 3tkls 1 sack

    Texas @ Florida St

    1st Quarter:
The first play of the game was a pick 6 by Aaron Benson which gave me the early lead. To start of my first drive of the season Shipley caught 2 passes a 17yd and 51yd strikes that setup a 1yd TD run by Malcolm Brown. Texas up 14-0 at the end of the first.

    2nd Quarter:
The second drive of the game by the longhorns had some highlight plays including a 28yd run by Malcolm Brown, a 16 and 29 yard runs by David Ash. Then capped off by a 1 yd run by Malcolm Brown. David Ash took over the 2nd Quarter with another big 34yd TD run. At this point being up 28-0 Texas started to send the pass rushers after EJ Manuel. But the Florida St got on the board with a couple big plays, 45yd pass to O'Leary and 16yd pass to Thompson and finished off with a 2yd run by Pryor. As soon as Texas got back on the field Ash went back to work hitting up Davis for 50 yards, then Ash took it himself for the 1yd TD run. Texas up 35-7 at Halftime.

    3rd Quarter:
Texas seeing the game get out of hand pulled the starters and played the younger Longhorns for the Crowd. At this point the defenses played much better, Texas however did managed to put up 3, 38-7.

    4th Quarter:
The defense continued into the 4th where neither team had anything going. Defense the second half was stellar for both Texas and Florida St.

Final Score: Texas 38 Florida St 7

Texas: D. Ash: 12-14 186 yards passing and 8 attempts for 101 yards.
Malcolm Brown: 16 attempts for 78 yards.
Aaron Benson: 6 total tackles and 2 INTs

Florida St: EJ Manuel: 12-22 204 yards
    Terrence Brooks 10 Total tackles

Not everyone, a few teams were locked into conference games for week 2 or because of a member being on vacation it was in their best interest to have a game scheduled for week 2.

BennettForce - can you copy and paste your game summary in the weekly thread too?

    Norman, OK--AP
    Oklahoma 45 UTEP 9

The Sooners Opened the season on a high note dismantling the team from El-Paso Texas. The game started tight at 7-3 but that was the last time UTEP would be within breathing distance. Jones lived up to the preseason Heisman hype connecting on his first 11 passes ending the day 14-16 for 348 yards and 4 TD strikes while sitting out the whole fourth quarter at second string QB Bell came in to run the second unit on offense. Coach Bennett was asked about the game immediately following it and was visibly upset with his defense.
"We gave up over 300 yards in the air in our first game of the season that is ridiculous, we can not have that type of effort and expect to compete for championships here in the Legendary Veterans league." When asked about his run defense which gave up -1 yards on the ground he stated, "Our defense sucked! Plain and simple why would they have any rushing yards when they are playing toss as if no one is out there." The next question was what about the two interceptions he responded, "You see any of the Ice Age Movies where that critter is trying to get the ACORN well every now and then he grabs ahold of it but more often he is chasing it around that was our secondary today, sure they had a lot of tackles because they were chasing all day!"

He then went on to comment about his offense, "Jones played alright I guess could have put some more zip on the ball and what is up with Whaley he had over 60 yards rushing in the 1st Quarter and then sits out because of a sprained ankle come on man, we have to be tougher or we will get beat by this bye team in week 2 jeez!!!!!" Coach that is not a team, "I realize that you jack... ahh never mind its practice time tonight we have to much to work on!
