    W. Michigan comes from behind to take victory from Air Force

Air Force led this game throughout as Western Michigan didn't have a lead in this game until there was 1:45 remaining in the game. But the Broncos were able to withstand the struggles that is the Falcons tricky triple option to surge late int he game and pull out the 38-31 win at home.

Air Force was able to stop the Broncos on the first posession of the game and in turn scored a TD on their first drive via a 9 yard pass from QB K. Pearson to WR T. MacArthur. W. Michigan was able to come back on their next drive to manage a FG and go into the 2nd quarter down 7-3.

However, Air Force quickly marched down field and scored again, this time on a 2 yard scoring run from RB T. Holmes to give the road team a 14-3 advantage.

Intent on keeping the game within reach W. Michigan responded well, matching the TD score with a 3 yard run of their own from HB B. Fields. The final minute of the first half would see each team get into the endzone. With Air Force scoring on a nice passing play from 45 yards out, again with the Pearson-MacArthur connection. The Broncos, feeling pressure to get at least a FG came out with an idea to try a deep pass right away. It was successful as QB T. Van Tubbergen hit WR J. Schaffer on the right side line who would make a nice cut to the inside and stroll 81 yards for the score.

    HT score: AF 21 W. Mich 17

The Broncos started with the ball in the 3rd quarter and had visions of grabbing their first lead of the game but were quickly forced to punt. Air Force capitalized on the good field position and were able to get another passing score from the now unstoppable connection of Pearson-MacArthur. Again, the Falcons would lead by 11.

    W. Michigan would come out on the first play of the ensuing drive and again strike quickly. T. Van Tubbergen would connect on another 81 yard scoring pass, this time to WR J. Collins.

Just before the start of the 4th quarter Air Force would kick a FG to take a 7 point lead into the final quarter.

    W. Michigan opened the 4th with a nice drive culminating in a 12 yard pass across the middle of the endzone to WR D. Braverman. After forcing just their 2nd punt of the evening, the Broncos would work their way down the field and take their first lead of the game with HB B. Field 2nd 2 yard TD run of the game.

The Falcons would have a chance to tie the game up and send it to OT and they appeared to be doing just that as they marche down the field. However, QB K. Pearson would make a mistake in the red zone and throw his first INT of the game. All the Broncos needed from there was one first down to sew the game up.

    W. Michiagn now sits at 7-2 and has a shot at playing for the MAC championship with a strong finish on the season.
