    Mississippi - 21

The Vols go into Oxford and defeat the #15 Rebels 31-21. Tennessee used a balance attack on offense, running for 200 yards and throwing for another 190. The defense gave up some yards on the ground but came up big when it counted, including a 88 yard INT return by my DT of all people. Next week, the Vols take on rival Vandy.

The Wildcats survived a scare from the Tigers to set up a huge game next week against Nebraska where the winner takes the Big 12 North. Kansas State played with their 3rd string QB due to injuries and Collin Klein played well throwing for 315yds 2 TD. Tim Flanders paced the running game with 112yds and Brandon Banks had 131yds 2 TD o add to his Heisman numbers. Brandon Harold recorded 2 more sacks as he leads the NCAA with an impressive 18 sacks for the year. Starting QB Chris Harper should make his return next week, if not the Wildcats may need a miracle next week.

The sliders haven't changed since we moved from Heisman back in week 3 or 4, I just never updated the sliders in the description thread.

This rivalry game was a blowout from the start. The Tide starters put up 41 points in the first half through a combination of good red zone running, accurate passing by McElroy and big plays from the defense. The backups on offense and defense played the entire second half and put up another 28 points, highlighted by a 86 yard kickoff return TD by Terry Grant to open the 2nd half.

Bama put up 590 yards of offense and 27 first downs, 235 yards rushing and 355 yards passing. Greg McElroy continued his strong play, going 16-20 for 279 yards and 2 TD, and M. Ingram added 67 yards rushing and 3 more TD's.

The Bama defense was led by C. Reamer, who recorded 2 sacks.

Player of the game - Julio Jones, 7 catches, 144 yards, 1 TD

Up next - A bye week before the Iron Bowl at #21 Auburn.

    #8 Kansas - 10

This game was an ass-whooping from the start. It was a huge surprise to me, as I figured I would struggle in my first game without Heisman-no longer-hopeful Roy Helu Jr. My offense moved the ball well with a new focus of passing the ball a little more. Zac Lee threw for 212 yards 3 TDs and 2 Ints. The stat of the game was 3rd down conversions. Kansas was only 3/12 on converting 3rd downs, while Nebraska was a nearly perfect 10/11. My two backs, Quentin Castille and Lester Ward, combined for 176 yards on the ground and 4 TDs on 33 yarries. Some bad news however, #2 WR Niles Paul suffered broken ribs and will be out 3 weeks. Not what I needed heading into a tough game vs Kansas State next week. Both teams are dealing with injuries to their star players and I think it will be a nailbiter.

Yep, he went out in the 2nd quarter last week vs Oklahoma. He's out another 5 weeks with a strained back, so he'll hopefully be good to go for the bowl game

Man, that sucks. But on the upside for Bama, Mark Ingram should definitely lead the nation in rushing TD's (he was tied with Helu coming into the week with 21).

USF heads back east to take on Rutgers in conference play during a snowstorm!. This one was closer than many expected, as the Scarlet Knights seemed to respond with a TD every time USF scored. It would take until the 4th quarter for the Bulls defense to step up and hold RU scoreless, allowing USF to pull away. Final score 42-28.
