    UFC - 38
    K-State - 35

What do you get when you have a prepared C-USA team versus a middle of the road Big 12 team? Appearantly you get a nail-biter as UCF sqeaks out a 3-point win. Things looked good for the Knights as they intercepted a K-State pass on their 1st series and took it for a TD. Unphased, K-State would finish the 1st quarter big with 2 TD's killing any momentum the Knights had gained. The second quarter would be all UCF as Brynn Harvey would eat up clock and set up a 4 yard TD, 26 yard TD pass and a 36 yard FG. With an 18 point lead to start the 4th quarter, everything seemed to be going UCF's way. With the home crowd in it, the Wildcats would become unstoppable. But in the end they would fall short, losing by 3.

The Stampede came to a holting stop this Saturday as the Mustangs of SMU got shoed and branded by the Horned Toads of TCU. It was an ugly game right from the start for SMU. TCU ran all over the SMU defense in front of their home crowd. TCU showed why they are ranked #5 in the nation and the Mustangs are not ranked at all. How will the now 4-1 Mustangs bounce back from this humiliating defeat in front of their home crowd?

The coach was not available for comments following the game as he did not show up for the press conference.

    Ball State Tests Iowa
    Iowa 24
    Ball St. 17
Ball State was just a few plays from knocking off undefeated Iowa. The Cardinals were in this game from the first snap but never could take the lead. After an Iowa TD QB Kelly Page ran 26 yards on an option for a TD. That was Page's main highlight in a game that was shortened by injury. He got injured in the 3rd quarter and passing QB Aaron Mershman was subbed in. Coach Kapono said, "We knew we had to change our gameplan, Kelly was out and we needed points. We did what was needed, ditched the option, and ran a balanced attack." The changes almost paid off but Mershman couldn't complete a pass on 4th and 10 near Iowa's 40n with 35 seconds left. Kapono said, "I had my mind made up, we were going for two if we had scored. But our main focus of this year is to win the MAC. That is our one and only goal on the season." Ball State enters conference play at 2-2.

    Stat Leaders
    Aaron Mershman(QB)- 4 for 12 for 61 yards, 16 rush yards
    Kelly Page(QB)- 2 for 7 for 38 yards, 56 rush yards, TD
Cory Sykes (HB)- 63 rush yards
    Briggs Orbson(WR)-31 receiving yards
    Ryan Hartke(MLB)- 10 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 sacks
    Brandon Kish(SS)- 9 tackles, TFL
