Canes Beat Gators 27-13 Win Florida Sweepstakes The game played much like a practice session as there was little intensity in the air, and it showed on the field. The two teams traded field goals in the first quarter, before Miami's HB Joe Sowell broke through for a one yard TD run. Florida would answer near the end of the half with a short touchdown of their own by Heisman hopeful Will Barron. Unfortunately for the Gators, they left too much time on the clock for Miami to operate, allowing the Canes to take the lead on a 45 yard FG to end the half. Up 13-10, the Hurricanes extended their lead on a 15 yard TD pass from QB Joseph Roberts to WR Andre Edwards. Though Florida would answer with a FG, they would still trail 20-13 with under four minutes to play, hoping that their defense could make a play and get the ball back. Miami thwarted the home team's plans as Sowell added his second score of the game with under a minute to play, to establish the final margin at 27-13. SatansAngel1104, good game. A little late with the write up, but better than never. The game really did feel more like a practice. You had a few of the 50/50 plays go against you and that was the difference. Third downs happen Yeh it was kind of a odd game from an intensity stand point. Ive just been dicking around with this play book. And i hate my defense lol.
.. Mizzou captures SEC crown with a big 35-17 victory over the Hogs. Arkansas would get it first but a critical sack near midfield would force a punt. Mizzou came out throwing and a 60 yard strike on a post pattern against cover 2 gave them an early 7-0 lead. Arkansas would come right back at them, moving the ball through the air to even things up with an 18 yard TD pass. After the first quarter ended 7-7, Mizzou would punch in another TD to retake the lead on a QB sneak. The Hogs next drive would stall inside the 10 and they would settle for a FG to narrow the margin to four at 14-10. Mizzou would waste no time as Jake Carr would beat the press to catch a 51 yard TD and put his team up by 2 scores. Arkansas would use a sweet option pass play to catch the Tigers on their heels and set up a short TD on a QB sneak to make it 21-17. After a Tigers punt, the Hogs would have a chance to take the lead, but one too many jump balls finally resulted in a turnover when Greg Tate made a leaping INT. Some poor clock management choices by Mizzou would prevent them from extending the lead before the half despite getting into FG range. The Tigers would get the ball first in the second half and Copeland would throw his third TD of the game, this one a 37 yard strike off of play action, to give his team a 28-17 lead. Arkansas would get into FG range, but a 12 yard loss on a 3rd down sack would push them back and force a punt. The Hogs D would force a Mizzou punt to gove the ball back to the offense and they would quickly work their way downfield, opening the 4th quarter on the 5 yard line down by 11. On third and 1 from the 5, Mizzou would sell out to stop the run and the Hogs would call a pass! Unfortunately for the Razorback faithful, a throw into traffic resulted in an INT on the 2 yard line. Three plays later, Andre Bentley would bust through for a 65 yard TD run to give his team a commanding 35-17 lead. The teams traded a couple of punts to close out the game. GG whygodwhy1111 the 2 INTs were huge as was the 2nd and 1 drop by your WR in the endzone on the play before the second INT, that sequence was what ultimately decided it.
Mizzou wins the NC, but restarts ruined the fun.... Canes got it first but threw a pick 6 on their second play. Miami would then have to punt the next time they got it and the Tigers would score on a long TD play. Miami would then throw their second pick and Mizzou would get another TD drive. Miami would stall again, this time on a failed 4th down attempt. Mizzou would get it back and the game disconnects..... We tried to replay like 4 times, each time with a first half disconnect. With a cumulative score of I think 38-7? Boom conceded so I played the CPU.
