Aggie Defense Thwarts Off Another SEC Opponent There REALLY wasn't much to this game. recchem2000 described it as "worse than normal" in his post-game when asked about this game's play by both teams compared to years past. Maybe he had a point. 189-162 was the total offensive yards in favor of TAMU, while Auburn passed for 4 more yards than they gained total all game but threw for 3 interceptions. Each team had its' chances early in the game, but Auburn missed a FG and then was picked off deep in A&M territory. The pick got returned deep and converted into a touchdown. TAMU RB Lilly then dropped a perfectly executed wheel route that should've been a TD early in the 3rd. Not long after Auburn made it deep again after recovering a fumble, only to be denied entry into the endzone and having to settle for a field goal. With a 10-7 deficit, A&M made a couple plays but a crucial open 3rd down dropped killed the drive and made the Aggies have to settle for a FG. The only problem was that it came up short on the crossbar. Auburn would mildly threaten again before settling for a FG to put them up 13-7 with about 6 minutes to go. Brent Hopkins would again lead the first significant drive of the day for the Aggies in the 4th qtr, converting a 3rd and 4th down and finally with Lewis running it in from 6 yards out with just a minute and a half to play for a 14-13 lead. Auburn would quickly throw their second pick, but TAMU couldn't net a first down so the Tigers got it back with no timeouts and about 55 seconds left. It was over one play later, as Hanconck for the second straight game sealed the deal with a pick. GG Rec. Tough breaks on the road.
Gators Unravel in Fourth Lose to Miami 55-35 The Florida Gators led the Miami Hurricanes 28-19 late in the third quarter after a defensive touchdown and seemed to be in control of the game. After a Miami touchdown cut the lead to 28-25, the Gators again marched down the field and were on their way to regain their two touchdown lead. Yet, with goal-to-go from within the five yard line, an errant pass by Florida QB was intercepted by Ray Webb in the endzone, who returned the pick 101 yards for a TD. Now trailing 32-28, the Gators entered the fourth quarter with the ball, but on their first pass of the drive would again be intercepted with a similar result. OLB Trey Evans would take the interception 74 yards for a TD to put the the Canes up 39-28. Yet on another interception on the ensuring Gator drive would allow Miami to tack on three more points and extend their lead to 42-28. Incredibly, the Canes defense wasn't done as on the next Florida possession, CB Dustin Gibson would return the fourth Miami interception for touchdown. All in all, Miami scored 31 consecutive points to turn a 28-19 deficit into a 49-28 lead in what amounts to less than four minutes of game time. SatansAngel1104, good game. Lol That was some vintage Florida Int TDs for their opponents there. Was a throw back to seasons of yesteryear.
Arkansas 24 LSU 21 Baker Shrugs 2 defenders for the go ahead TD Despite an impressive day from LSU QB Brett Walden, Arkansas hangs on thanks to a few big plays and a couple turnovers. Walden racked up 354 yards on 32/35 passing but it wasn't enough. One of his 2 INTs took points off the board which made the difference in the end. With a 3 point lead late in the 4th Arkansas finally showed some life in the running game, cruising down the field expending all of LSU's Timeouts. On second and long at the 12 yard line, Baker kept the Option read, he was spun around immediately by the DE, the DT was then tossed aside by the stumbling QB, Baker then weaved his way between 4 converging defensive players to score the TD ( on the wire). Down 10 with 2 minutes left LSU drove the field and scored a TD to cut the lead to 3 but failed to recover the onside kick. Notes: For my QB to break those 2 tackles in a row with conservative run on, I can only assume you were had some aggressive defense settings on for that last possession. He is good, but not that good I definately did not want to be up 6 on your last possession. GG MexiRican35
To be honest, i was on neutral or standard or whatever it is for that drive. Its probably cause Baker was on fire.
Arkansas 35 Missouri 17 Arkansas Proves itself under the lights Early fumble recover for touchdown put the tigers in a hole. Some timely sacks and enough drives converted into Touchdowns kept Arkansas in front for the rest the game. Missouri closed the lead to 4 but a big 4th quarter for the razorbacks sealed the game. WR Victor Thomas really stepped up for the razorbacks, shredding press coverage at the line to rack up 3 TDs against the blitz. Key players Arkansas: QB Ali Baker 328 yards 4 TDs WR Victor Thomas 5 Catches 153 yards 3 TDs FS Eli Brunner 1 FR 1 TD 1 INT DE Joe Randolph 3 sacks 1 FF Mizzouri: Blake Copeland 268 2 TD Lional Mueller 3 sacks *notes: GG. one of Thomas's TDs was because @wrymreaver accidentally moved a CB while setting his defense and no one was lined up on the outside receiver. I waited the remaining time on play clock but I don't think he saw it before the snap. I certainly got better at dealing with infinite time in the pocket, although I felt bad the time I threw a 33 yard pass to a WR coming back from a deep route.
Arkansas 24 Texas A&M 17 Arkansas dodges an Aggie bullet to win the National Championship In a hard fought game it came down to the last 3 possessions inside 2 minutes remaining. With the score tied the aggies drop past the 50 but could not secure FG range. Arkansas came back with a 86 yard TD bomb down the sidelines to take a 7 point lead. With a 1:12 remaining and 3 time outs the aggies drove down to the Arkansas 40 yards line before a controversial spot was inches short and the Aggies turned it over on downs. Notes: Successful flea flicker alert, vid on the wire! GG Jayrah I thought you had me.
GG. I did too. Besides the spot that 86 yard TD (wheel route to the HB) was similar to the play you ran in year one against me to beat me on the last play of the game. In this one, there was nothing left to do. Conservative zones, nickel cover 2, SPIED the HB! But the hardwire of the Safety to drop back a few yards and sit and wait killed me as he simply couldn't turn and run from a flat-footed position and catch your 2nd 99 spd, 99 acc HB. The fact is that the safeties should be immediately and constantly backing up in conservative coverage, but they don't so... The worst thing about that final play (besides the fact that I got the first down and was snuffed), was that the in route AND streak (for the first time all day) was wide open. Unfortunately my LT again left your DE untouched and I couldn't take a sack on 4th. Sacks and drops killed me this season. I've never seen so many drops by receivers. Another 4 or 5 in this game alone and most on 3rd down to kill drives. I am proud of the way my defense played though. Down 10-0 at half and suddenly a stop and a pick 6 had us tied. Then your long drive of runs just deflated me. But generally it's close and then it's 44-0. That was one of the best games we've played yet. Can't complain too much. Just hope my team comes back during a regular season game and plays better against the Hogs
I do not trust my safeties to cover the outside of the field, if I have 2 deep safeties I always hit Y-button then R-stick up to make them cover outside. I hate it when WRs get behind my safeties down the line. Both of my big TD throws ( last one and flea flicker) were on wheel routes where the safety did not cover the line.
I am so afraid of getting the wrong guy and taking him out of the play. It happened several times on your big runs last night where I'd try to switch and it would give me a guy that was going to have a chance but was a ways away from the play. Thinking I was getting the closest guy I tried to switch and dive simultaneously, resulting in me taking the safety right out of the play and the CPU never giving an effort at the ball carrier.
Oh gotcha. Nope didn't do that. Shouldn't have to. But oh well, my guy got outrun by a 99 99 so I'm not too mad about it. Just wish there were a different core animation so that I could at least feel like I simply got burned by a faster player
Arkansas 45 Missouri 38 Arkansas tops Missouri in a shootout Both teams put up over 500 yards of offense. Arkansas caught a few breaks that made the difference. Also McCoy catches everything.
