I was impressed, never knew what to expect from your offense. When it was 17-0 I was thinking it might get ugly, but instead we had a very fun and entertaining game, even with 4 or 5 second half fumbles (3 were TOs) that made it feel a little sloppy.
It has me cautiously optimistic for NCAA 14 because if the run blocking is improved like they say it will be, this is probably the offense I'll run. A ball control Oregon spread.
If the run blocking and option are improved as promised I imagine we'll see a lot of players running it more
Missouri 31 Notre Dame 21 The first 4 possessions from the Irish went Pick 6, Punt, INT, Punt. Missouri amassed a 21-0 advantage by the end of the first quarter in that time. ND and coach cheez weren't rattled though and they stuck to their gameplan, cutting the lead to 21-7 before halftime. After a Mizzou punt to start the 3rd quarter, the Irish would put together a nice drive before facing a long FG attempt. Or not, the fake FG went for a TD igniting the South Bend crown and narrowing the lead to just 7 points. The Irish continued to play good defense, but Mizzou would manage a FG to take a 10 point advantage late in the 4th. ND would go 4 and out from inside their own 20 and the Tigers would score to extend the lead to 31-14. The Irish would score quickly and get the onside kick to make it interesting, but Kyle Brandts fourth INT of the day for the Irish would seal the deal. On the day, ND played solid D while HB Sonny Stewart exposed the 3-3-5 going for 114 yards on 17 carries before a concussion knocked him out of the game in the 3rd period. In the end, 5 turnovers and 8 sacks allowed by the offense was just too much to overcome. GG Cheez
gg Neal. I beat you over the final three quarters... but the first quarter counts too I had all the momentum after the fake... but it was just killer when I lost Stewart. recchem2000 - If I can run on this 3-3-5 with a bad O line against neal, it is possible.
The last battle of the Tigers. recchem2000 and I agreed we had split the series 6-6 for the cycle, so this would decide who was the better Tiger team. The game began with a Auburn inteception, which would be a first of many for the paper Tigers. HB Beck capped it off with a 6 yard TD. Auburn came back with their own rushing TD, as HB Andrews went in untouched for a 14 yard score. LSU lost their starting TE Todd due to injury early in the game, but backup Stewart came up big throughtout the game. He took a short pass and rumbled his way into the endzone for a 13 yard score. After a trade of interceptions, the fullback, the fullback of all people makes a big 40 yard TD score. The LSU defense left him uncovered, and he made them pay. The score was tied going into the half. Auburn's QB Robbins threw his third pick of the day, this time to MLB Williamson who took it all the way to the one. The next play was a Beck score. LSU would get a FG to make it a 10 point lead. Robbins rebounded and threw a perfect pass in tight coverage to Byers for a 17 yard TD. Auburn would need a defensive stand to get the ball back. On third and long, LSU QB Rogers found McNair wide open after he beat his man. There was no body in front of him, and he ran in a backbreaking 78 yard TD. LSU went for 2 points trying to make it a 14 point game, but Rogers was hit as he threw the pass, which got picked Ncaa 11 style. Auburn took it back for their own 2 points, making it an 8 point lead for LSU. But Robbins would throw his last pick of the game trying to go deep. #5 LSU 31 - #13 Auburn 23
Just thought I'd throw up what happened against LSU and Auburn last night. First, A&M smacked around an LSU team looking to clinch the West, final score was 38-17 and wasn't ever very close, 24-3 at half. Then A&M held off the drunken Tigers of Auburn 30-23. In each game A&M's Shaw returned a punt for a TD and for the second year in a row the Aggies blocked an XP vs Auburn and got the return for 2. On top of that, the craziest play I have seen this cycle happened with Auburn down 23-16 and going for the onside with less than 1:20 to go. The ball bounced between players a couple times and then presumably got kicked or hit the helmet of a diving player and jumped right out of the pile and bounced to the sidelines. One of A&M's receivers then scooped it up on the run and took it down the sidelines and in to basically secure it. Except Auburn would score with 3 seconds to go on 4th down and then try the onside again, this time succeeding. A hail mary hit Auburn in the hands in the end zone but the A&M corner, for the 3rd time in the game, made a late stab and knocked the ball out of his hands. GG MexiRican35 and recchem2000 looking forward to NCAA 14 games with you two.
The final meeting between TAMU and Mizzou of the NCAA '13 cycle was not what the Aggies hoped for.... A long pass sparked their first drive, which ended in a short field goal, but TAMU would struggle mightily the rest of the way. On the flipside, Mizzou could do no wrong, completing all 14 of their pass attempts and converting on 7 of 8 3rd down tries. Final count was 42-3 for the Tigers. GG Jayrah should stoke the fire for some great Cal vs WVU games! BTW, WVU's new coach says that your Cal squad is sporting our colors.... we don't like that, so look out!
