Playbooks for season 2 must be finalized by your 2nd user game or your 3rd game (whichever is first). Here are the rules for custom playbooks for this season:

Offensive playbooks - You must post all formations in your custom playbook. Your formations should fit an offensive style.

Defensive playbooks - You must post all formations in your custom playbook. Your defensive playbook must be centered around one of the 4 main defensive formations (4-3, 3-4, 3-3-5 stack, 4-2-5). You may add 2 formations from one of 3 main defensive formations you are choosing (ie - if you run the 4-3, you can add a 4-2-5 formation) or from one of the specialized formations (such as as the 4-4, 2-4-5, etc).

I'll be changing up my playbook on offense to add a bit more passing elements to it, but I'm still finalizing it. On defense I may add the 5-2 or the 4-4 to my 3-4 playbook and remove the 1-5-5 set.

WSU will modifying its playbook this season, we will be adding some formations, taking some formations out, but it will generally be the same type of playbook as before.

Sparty will be sticking with "Pro Style" offensive playbook and "4-3" defensive playbook, both unmodified.

I will be removing all of my Strong formation sets and switching to a singleback system.

Labbing with the custom playbooks here on D and was looking for your verification that my 4-3 base is allowed to include the 5-2 and even some of the 4-2-5? I was looking to incorporate the 4-2-5 normal and Under Slide....

You can include two additional formations, which would mean you could add the 5-2 and one of the 4-2-5 sets or two 4-2-5 sets and not the 5-2.

After consulting with my inner Arkansas fandom, I will be dropping the WSU playbook or any customization of it going with the Arkansas Playbook. My offense is just awesome in the Night Owls with this book. I may change one or two formations, but that is all i.e. there will be no pistol formation with this playbook.

California is incorporating more stages of the Texas A&M offense into their pro attack, to add some explosive plays to the running game. A few formations and many individual plays for the option and all go passing plays were removed, except in limited formations where we will practice and utilize varied option sequences (see wildcat and 1 or 2 ace big formations).
    (**= originally in pb)

    Offense:
    **Ace:
    Big TE Flip
    **Big Twins
    **Bunch Swap
    Flip Trips
    **Normal Flex
    Tight Doubles On
    **Twin TE
    **Y-Trips

    Far:
    Pro

    I Form:
    **Tight
    **Twin TE Strg

    SG:
    **4Wr Trey
    **Ace
    Cluster HB Str
    **Normal Flex Wk
    **Spread Flex
    **Wildcat

    **Y-Trips

On Defense Cal is going to add some looks to solidify varied run defenses (see Stanford running for +300 yards). However Cal will not be bulking up for this task, as they are not good enough on the D-line depth to compete with the heavy Stanford o-line. Instead Cal will be slimming down and moving speed around the edges, hopefully forcing runs more inside towards a good front 3 and decent linebacker talent. Gone are the 2-4-5 and 1-5-5, as well as 3-4 even and under.

    3-4 Base:
    Normal
    Over
    Predator
    Solid

    Dime:
    3-2-6
    Normal

    Nickel:
    3-3-5
    Normal
    Strong

    QTR:
    3 Deep
    Normal

    3-3-5:

Offense still uses the Stanford playbook as the base, I just swapped some ace formations for some more shotgun formations in an attempt to become a better passing offense. I will still be using the base 3-4 playbook on defense.

    TIGHT
    TWIN TE STRONG
    TWINS FLEX

    Ace
