    Conference USA Championship

    Marshall 44
    Tulsa 29

Marshall took on Tulsa with the Conference USA title on the line. Marshall jumped out early and was able to hold off a late push by Tulsa to go home crowned as C-USA champs.

Marshall began the scoring on the first play from scrimage when Andre Booker took a handoff off tackle 84 yards for a touchdown. Tulsa would answer when DeMarco Nelson capped a scoring drive with a 1 yard touchdown run, evening the score at 7. Marshall would regain the lead on their next possession on a 33 yard field goal by Tyler Warner. On Tulsa's next possession, a sack and fumble, led to a scoop and run for a 41 yard touchdown by John Youboty. The two teams traded field goals in the second quarter, with two from Tulsa and one from Marshall, bring the halftime score to 20-13 Marshall.

In a defensive third quarter, the only scoring came when Willie Korn found CJ Crawford for a 14 yard scoring strike, giving Marshall a 27-13 lead. An action packed fourth quarter saw Booker break away from the pack once again for a 39 yard score. Another Warner field goal and Marshall was up 37-13. Tulsa would not give up. With just over 4 minutes to play, Shavodrick Beaver hit Kelly Freeman for 81 yards and a touchdown. After the 2 point conversion, the lead was cut to 37-21. Marshall would put the game away for good with just over a minute left when Booker scored his third touchdown of the game, this one from 4 yards out. Tulsa would find the endzone one final time when Beaver hooked up with C Sears for 21 yards.

Booker led the way for Marshall with 206 yards and 3 touchdowns on 25 carries. Beaver led Tulsa, going 5 of 7 for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns. The win moves Marshall to 8-4 (8-1). With the loss Tulsa drops to 6-7 (4-5).
