Michigan State fans couldn't breath a sigh of relief until Alabama's 4th down pass was batted harmlessly to the ground. When it was all said and done, the Spartans upset the #5 ranked Crimson Tide 24-23 in East Lansing.
After the first quarter, it appeared that the visitors from Tuscaloosa were poised to the send the fans quickly to the exit, as they had taken a 10-0 lead on Donta Hightower's 25 fumble return TD. However, the Spartans would regroup and cut the lead to 10-7 on an 11 yard pass from Junior QB Peter Badovinic to TE Ralph Johnson - both players making their first start for the Green. Alabama would go on to take a 17-10 halftime lead, however, the close margin allowed the Spartan players to gain confidence going into the second half.
The second half saw the Spartan offensive line begin to dominate the trenches, allowing Le'Veon Bell to gain the majority of his 138 yards after the break, including a game-tying 66 yard TD run. Though Alabama would respond with a TD of their own, it was a blocked extra-point following the TD that would prove to be the difference in the game. Mixing the run and the pass well, the Spartans would take the final lead on a 37 yard TD pass from Badovinic to red shirt Freshman receiver Roger Williamson.
Though Coach Akai had stated in the Preseason BIG10 Media Day that both Badovinic and Andrew Maxwell would see time at QB, Maxwell did not enter the game. Said Akai, "Playing Bama, he was really composed out there...I didn't see a need to take him out."
Michigan State now follows their upset of Alabama with a trip to Tennessee, deep in SEC Country.

LSU TIGERS VS. UTAH UTES
Unfortunately, the game froze at the beginning of the second half when I was up 10-0 on Tschetter2 . In the second attempt, two pick sixes by the vaunted LSU defense in the first half led to a hypothetical 24-0 victory over the Utes. The damage continued in the second half. Sophomore running back Alfred Blue finished with 20 carries for 251 and 3 scores. The defense was phenomenal, snagging 3 interceptions and sacking the quarterback 5 times. Final score LSU 48, Utah 0
Spartans Survive Another Thriller
In a game that went back-and-forth for four quarters, it seemed fitting that the team with the ball last would win the game. Michigan State's Larry Caper caped a 4-minute drive with his second TD of the game, a 4 yard run, with 5 seconds left to put the Spartans up 28-24. Michigan State kept the drive alive by converting on 4th and 12 from their own half of the field. Besides the 4th down conversion, the Spartans methodically moved down the field, so as not to leave any time for the Volunteer offense.
After trading touchdowns in the opening quarter, and taking a slim 14-10 lead into the half, Michigan State appeared to have gained control of the game when linebacker Max Bullough intercepted an option pitch from Tyler Bray to Rajion Neal and chugged 33 yards to the end zone. However, Tennessee would answer back with a long TD drive to put the pressure back on the Spartans. This time, the pressure would get to the Spartans as a big hit caused a fumble that would be returned for a touchdown, setting up Michigan State for the defining drive of the game.
While Le'Veon Bell rushed for 114 yards on 19 carries, Larry Capers scored 2 TDs and gained 39 tough yards, earning Player of the Game honors for the Spartans.
News of Tennessee's coach missing the game did not arrive until game time for the Spartans. However, it is unclear how much the play calling suffered as a result.

After an embarrasing loss in death valley the Utes defend their home turf against a late surge by the 8th ranked crimson tide. I lead 17-0 goin into the break, they got they cut into the deficit and were only down by 7 goin into the 4th but two timely field goals kept the game just out of reach even with a late long td pass for bama. Wynn went 10-18 passing for 183 yds and 1td to anthiony denham. Thretton Palamo carried the bulk of the load going 24 car for 96 yds, while john white dashed 56 yds and 1 td on 7 carries. there was no turnovers in the game.
#7 Stanford 28
#2 S. Carolina 16
The Cardinal use a balance attack to take down the Gamecocks. Andrew Luck threw for 195 yards and two scores, while Stephon Taylor gained 122 yards on the ground while scoring two touchdowns as well. The big difference in the game was the absence of Marcus Lattimore. Lattimore was a beast for most of the first half until he went down and missed two quarters because of injuries. During his absence the Cardinal defense was able to contain the Gamecocks, while the Cardinal offense got going and built a commanding lead.
#4 Stanford 30
The Cardinal were up to the challenge going on the road to take on the Illini. The Cardinal had difficulty running the ball as Stephon Taylor was only able to gain 97 yards on 24 carries, but luckily the team has Andrew Luck. Luck played very efficiently throwing for 211 yards completing 12 of 19 passes. Luck threw two big TD passes the first a 47 yard TD pass to Sam Knapp, the second was a 75 yard TD pass to Drew Terrell. The second TD pass was huge as the Illini had just pulled to with 4 points late in the third quarter.
This game was simply ugly. The Cardinal offense struggled to move the ball and score many points in this game. For most of the game the score was 3-0 Stanford until with about a minute to go in the third quarter, when WR Jamal Patterson caught a 23 yard TD pass from Andrew Luck. In the fourth quarter the Cardinal extended the lead to 17 when TE Levine Toilolo caught a 31 yard TD pass from Andrew Luck. Stephon Taylor was able to rush for 124 yards, but it seemed like most of the yards were gained in the fourth quarter after the Cardinal finally wore out the Buffalo Defense.
None of my attempts against Colorado were this bad lol
I couldn't pass the ball for shit, a lot of drives stalled because no one was open. My best play at times was Andrew Luck dropping back to pass and running with the ball when no one was open.
More ppl need to do these. I don't know half the ppl in the dynasty because I never see write ups
LSU TIGERS VS. WASHINGTON HUSKIES
Another dominating performance by the LSU Tigers today in Death Valley. The offense was led by Heisman hopeful RB Alfred Blue, who's 300 yards rushing and 5 TDs led to a 50-10 victory over the Huskies. The defense was stout once again, only allowing a meaningless TD in the 4th quarter. LSU looks to continue their dominance as they travel to Champaign, IL next week to take on the Fighting Illini.
Spartans Shut Out Wildcats
Defense ruled the day as the Spartans deny the Wildcats points, giving Coach Akai his first shut out as head coach of Michigan State. State's defense forced four turnovers and discombobulated the patented Wildcat spread attack. Quarterback Zach Oliver completed only 6 of 16 passes as he was often forced into off-target throws by the frequent penetration of the Spartan defense. The running game did not fare much better as Spartan defenders often slipped free into the backfield to break up the plays.
A 35 yard touchdown pass from Peter Badovinic to Derek Hoebing midway through the first quarter would be all that Michigan State would need. Badovinic would add a second touchdown in the second quarter, giving five for the season, to go along with only three interceptions. Le'Veon Bell would put the game away for good in the latter stages of the third quarter on a 14 yard run.
Due to the Spartan's dominance, a controversial non-call was avoided was Michigan State got down to the Northwestern 1 yard line with seconds to go in the half. Replays appear to show Michigan State calling for a time out, only for the half to end as they broke the huddle. Officials stated after the game that they did not see Michigan State calling for a time out and that the Michigan State QB confused his signals.

#6 South Carolina Gamecocks 3 vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers 7
It was all defense in this barnburner. Nothing went right for either team on the offensive end. Taylor Martinez started the game throwing 3 INTs on his first 4 drives. On the day the Gamecocks only had 173 total yards offense and Nebraska only had 196. In addition to Martinez's 3 INTs Shaw threw 2 INTs as well and only had 102 Yds passing. Each team missed a field goal: South Carolina's getting caught by the wind and going wide and Nebraska's hitting the crossbar on a 41 Yd FG. In fact the defense was so impressive that it took a Taylor Martinez 19 yd scramble on 3rd and goal on the 20, followed by a Green 1 Yd TD run. Nebraska was clearly missing their starting HB Burkhead who is out with a Foot Stress Fracture for a Questionable length of time. The team hopes he returns soon. Nebraska advances to 3-0 in this big win and drops South Carolina to 1-2. After this week Nebraska expects to break into the top 25.
Are we using the setup that the winner of user games posts the summary?
the winner of user games, needs to do the write up
He likes college? In another dynasty that I am in, he stayed for his senior year as well. Everyone in that dynasty said the reason why Luck stayed was because the user couldn't pass the ball.
