To help generate some content in this league, I would like for each of you to pick two players from your roster (one offense, one defense) that you would consider impact players, post them here with a brief summary, and then periodically update the thread with stats and/or highlights.

    IMPACT PLAYERS
    OFFENSE
    Franklin.JPG
Senior HB Johnathan Franklin will need to be a leader on the field this season to spark the Bruin run game that lacked fire power last season. An improved offensive line should help Franklin find some running space while his explosive acceleration and vision should allow him to punch through some holes to get into the second level. Franklin may not be the strongest running back UCLA has ever seen, but he makes up for his small size in agility and speed and can usually make the first man miss in the open field.

    DEFENSE
    Price.JPG
Senior CB Sheldon Price can hang with the best WRs in the league as long as he can stick with the solid fundamentals. His size and speed are an excellent asset and his ability to recognize plays should lead to plenty of broken up passes and hopefully a few interceptions. Price works great in man and zone schemes and is excellent at tackling in the open field. The defense will rely on Price to keep the intensity up if they want to contend for a PAC-12 title.

WR Robert Woods He was in the process for a big year last year but was injured and missing for the last half of the season. When he went down USC began to struggle offensively. USC needs him back and healthy this year as Barkley decided to come back for his Senior year. These 2 could lead the Trojans not Trogans lol to the N.C. game. Could he go for the heisman will have to see but he has to stay healthy for this to happen

FS TJ Mcdonald USC is looking for his aggression and cover skills to control the deep passing attack. If he can control that and everyone else can control their part of the field the defense will be strong enough to take and help the explosive offense and head for the N.C game

    [IMG] Position:
    RB
Slated as a back-up for the onset of last season, Coach decided that Clay had a better spring and camp and chose to go a different direction. Clay was the man to begin the season and he didn't disappoint. Although he wasn't the focal point of the offense, his relentless running style with good speed and quickness, took a lot of the pressure off of the Sooner passing gm. Everyone knew Clay was a special talent, but no one knew it would lead to colleges most coveted award, The 2011 Heisman Trophy. Only a sophomore, his 1018 yds rushing weren't the best in the nation, but his 19 td's were. He wasn't on anyones heisman ballot until very late in the season. Look for the JR HB to lead his team to a shot at The National Title.

    [IMG] Height / Weight:

    [IMG] Position:
    LB
A first team All American from last season, Wort lead his team and was amongst the FBS leaders in the nation in total tackles last season. With probably one of the better overall defenses in the country, Wort will anchor The Sooner front seven, which posted a top 10 defense against the rush. The Sooners go as far as their defense will take them and the outlook is pretty good!

Floyd Casey stadium needs to be rocking this year.

Baylors star QB, Robert Griffin III, decided to come back for his senior season after failing at so many goals last season. He will be joined by a great supporting cast, as he has a lot of weapons back this season. This team will go the way he goes. The defense will do enough to support a win, but without RG3 making plays, you can forget about putting W's on the schedule.

    Week 1 - 12/16 for 244 yards 2TD's, 4 car for 42 yards 1TD
    Week 2 - 10/13 for 129 yards 2TD's, 8 car for -6 yards (injured 2nd half)
    Week 3 - 8/10 for 107 yards 1TD, 5 car for -6 yards (injured 2nd half AGAIN)
On the defensive side of the ball, DE Tevin Elliott needs to have a big impact. He was a backup to Lloyd and Mason last season, but he will be starting on the right this coming year. If he has the year Lloyd had last season, this unit will be amazing.

    Week 1 - 3 assisted tackles
    Week 2 - 2 solo tackles
    Week 3 - 1 solo tackle, 1 TFL, 1 Sack

    Rueben Randle
Randle will have to be the go-to-guy and make big plays this year. With a solid run game, we need him to lead by example for the young group of receivers we have set in place to replace him once he leaves. We believe Rueben can have a heisman type year as long as he stays consistent. Teams will likely be stacking the box, leaving him open to one on one coverage. At 6'4, 207 he is a handful to cover for some of these smaller corner backs.
    Tyrann Mathieu
Tyrann will have to be the playmaker on defense. With Morris Claiborne leaving, it is just him and Tharold Simon. However, we have some great young guys like Joey Thompson but he lacks experience. Tyrann will have to make up for the rest of the inexperience but he will have great safeties to rely on. Craig Loston and Eric Reid will make Mathieu's job a whole lot easier.

JENKINS had a break out season as a sophomore. He totaled over 80 tackles and was the leader of a young defense.

    Senior (RS) - 84 OVR
Monroe has some big shoes to fill in his first year as the starting half back for the Longhorns. The running game was the focal point of the offense last season and Coach Fransisco will surely look to keep that trend this season to try and keep some pressure off Garrett Gilbert.
    Junior - 88 OVR
Jeffcoat, the 2011 Lombardi and Nagurski Award winner, looks to build on his record setting sophomore campaign (41 tackles, 29 TFL, 24.5 sacks, 4 FF). The Longhorns are going to need Jeffcoat to continue his outstanding play and live up to expectations as the veteran defense is certainly the anchor of the team this season.

Both played important roles in our victory today. They were truly "impact" players.

[IMG] Rueben Randle - Randle made some good plays today as he caught 4 passes for 51 yards and grabbed a TD against Idaho in a 38-17 win.

[IMG] Tyrann Mathieu - The Honey Badger had 8 total tackles and a tackle for a loss against Idaho.

Murray is one of the best QB's in the nation. 96 overall with a very strong arm and good accuracy. With solid receivers around him, he could be a potential Heisman candidate.

Very solid 92 overall free safety. He can do it all. Hit, tackle, jump, decent speed, high awareness, etc....
