    Season 2 Kickoff: Week 1

    Week 1: Games to Watch

    Raiders at Chiefs
    *Game of the Week*

We start out with an AFC West rivalry game between two teams that had great seasons last year. The Raiders were a playoff team that had a big year from star RB Darren McFadden. They were led on defense by LB Thomas Howard, one of the top sack men last season. They return with mostly the same team but now have a stud rookie QB taking snaps. Dane Morrow was taken by the Raiders in the first round of the draft and Oakland hopes he can take the team to the next level. The Chiefs on the other hand have made some moves in the offseason. Out is QB Matt Cassell and taking his place is Rooke Tim Tribow, a heralded QB in college, he went what most think is way too high in the draft. Chiefs decided to let him run the show. They also added Laurent Robinson to the receiving corps. The Chiefs hope this season they can make it to the playoffs after falling just short.

    Eagles at Cowboys

A classic rivalry game in big D has the defending NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles facing off with the Cowboys. Philly had a great year but fell short of their goal of becoming Super Bowl champions. In the offseason the Eagles were very busy. Mario Williams was brought in to bolster the defensive line. Asante Samuel left in that deal but they traded for Ike Taylor to fill that void. They also got stud LB Josh Sneed and promising FS De'Adrian Virges. With these moves the Eagles are an improved team on paper but it's unknown how it will affect their pursuit of a Super Bowl title. Dallas is looking to be the first team to hold the Eagles back from their goal. Dallas returns most of their starters. They got LB Torian Watts with their first round pick. Finishing 3rd in the NFC East last season was a major disappointment now they can start anew with their sites on the NFC East crown.

    Colts at Titans

It is ironic that these teams face each other in the first game of the season. Tennessee, who had the tiebreaker over the Colts for the AFC South somehow got screwed by the system and were left out while Indianapolis got in. The Titans look to get a little payback and take the first step in making sure that situation does not happen again. The Titans didn't make any significant moves in the offseason. They let LB Keith Bullock go but replaced him with rookie Lee Carter. They still have speedy RB Chris Johnson leading the way for the offense. This will be the first full season for Coach JSimms so we get to see how good of a HC he is. The Colts return to defend their controversial AFC South crown. Peyton Manning comes back for his 13th season. Last season he was very turnover prone so he looks to return to his All-Pro form. He has a new weapon to aid him this season in WR DJ Crosby. Look for this one to be the first game of what should be a heated series between these two teams.

    Predictions
    AFC East: Patriots
    AFC North: Steelers
    AFC South: Titans
    AFC West: Chargers
    Wildcard: Chiefs, Texans

    NFC East: Eagles
    NFC North: Lions
    NFC South: Saints
    NFC West: Rams
    Wildcard: Giants, Cowboys

*note: don't take this personal just doing it for fun*

Hmm gonna be tough to justify that call, that would be 5 days for 1 week which is not really a good way to start the season off. Also if we have all the games done by tomorrow, it would be tough to have these guys wait 2 whole days for 1 game to be played.

let me just say, TMFL has a good group of owners.

I can't tell you how much inactivity there is in SMFL. 9 teams skipped so far in the FA Draft and we're only on pick 17
