    Season 2 - Offseason Discussion

If we advance as planned to the title game on Monday night, I will give Marcman a day or so to whoop the CPU and then we will start the offseason. One night offseasons during the week are tough to pull off, so I would like to plan on doing the offseason either Friday or Saturday night next week. We will get through at minimum one offseason task a day during the week so that hopefully when we get to the weekend the rest will go quickly.

Everyone should know the key offseason rules, but here they are again for reference:

    Players leaving

A player will not be allowed to attempt to sway a player from the pro draft if he:
    • is > 95 OVR
    • is a JR that has won the Heisman
    • is a JR or SO(RS) and has won an offseason award (Thorpe, Maxwell, Biletnikoff, etc) and is > 90 OVR
    • Kickers and punters can be swayed from pro draft regardless of OVR and class.

    Recruiting
Note: Promises to recruits in offseason recruiting is prohibited.

    Transfers and Cuts
I will sim past the transfers stage and will post any teams with incoming transfers. During week 1 of recruiting, anyone receiving a transfer in will need to post whether they will accept the transfer or cut him. Transfers in count towards the current years scholarship limit.

I will also sim past the cuts unless any team has incoming transfers they do not want. If any team violates the scholarship limit I will take the dynasty offline and manually cut the teams highest rated incoming recruits to bring them back into compliance (that's my version of an NCAA sanction).

I'm out for Friday or Sunday, I'm working. I could do Saturday during the day, but I'm going to a wedding Saturday night, so that won't work for me either.

Just in case, see if you can line up a stand in (maybe hippo could help you out). By next weekend I would hope to be almost done with offseason recruiting so there hopefully won't be much left.

Since it's already the first week of May, it's unlikely we'll even get through this next season. (I thought we planned on a one month break?) With that in mind, what tasks in the offseason even matter?

Players leaving early and position changes.

Since it'll be our last season, just sim recruiting.

    A) we've got majority of our recruits signed.
    B) If you don't have them inked by now, then they probably won't be in the starting lineup next season anyways.

    Good point.

We never really decided about any time off, although a few said they liked the idea.

I'm going to post a new poll to help decide what we do.

WR M. Floyd elected to return for his senior season, but 82 OVR MLB D. Posluzny decided to transfer to Navy.

QB Kodi Burns decided to comeback. A wise decision for a shitty running QB who will be a WR in the NFL.

I'm sorry Dru, I went to do this last night and got distracted...if you need to skip me go ahead. If it's still up I'll do it when I get home from work.

Cincy loses QB Chaz Anderson and WR Vidal Hazelton. Along with Hazelton, 3 other senior WRs 89+ overall all graduated. I have no idea what the hell the offense will look like next season.

Sorry, forgot to post it here. I did send an Xbox live message however, so I was halfway on the ball.

If everyone can do me a favor and post in here or put a message on the dynasty page in the game when you are 100% done with recruiting it will make the process quicker.

Any chance we can get everyone on for an hour any night this weekend and knock the rest out?

I'm not really too concerned with doing it. None of the guys recruited will ever see the field, so you can skip me if I'm not around when you do it.
