The Aztecs got their first hard commit this week in DE Anthony Roberson. Roberson will look to help the currently young defensive line in the future.

FIU signed it's first two recruits of the season, both 3* players:

Steven Nance (#114 WR) 6'3 196 lbs 3* he's from Bayoney Point, FL
    Josh Pettway (# 64 TE) 6'1 235 lbs 3* he's from Tamarac, FL

Good to see I'm starting off the season with 2 3*'s after signing none last year.

If I recruit a guy who is say a WR and when he gets to school the next year he is actually a better SS, can I move him? That is a hypothetical situation, just curious.

Yes in that case it would be fine because that could happen in real life. Basically use common sense, if its not something you would see happen on a college team in real life then we shouldn't be doing it here either.

2011 San Diego State Aztecs Recruiting News

    Week 2 News
The Aztecs got 2 hard commits this week, both coming from California natives. Chad Landrum will come in and have a golden opportunity to start at TE for the Aztecs. Punter, Terrance Suggs will most definitely be handed the starting punting duties next season after Ben Stahovich graduates, Stahovich currently plays both punter and kicker for the Aztec offense and is 4/4 on FG for the season.

    UNLV Project Reload 2011

So far UNLV has 3 commitments:
    3* FS Frank Peterson | 5'10" | 189 lbs
UNLV is addressing the defensive side of the ball early this recruiting cycle as the coaches feel that their secondary is the area where they need to bring in more athletes to compete for playing time. Peterson was a Rover in HS, so he has the ability to lay the pads on a back or receiver and is adequate in coverage as well. While he lacks elite speed he makes up for it with a tremendous first step and can close the gap in a hurry. Look for Peterson to fight for some playing time next year and to jar a few balls loose on some big hits.

    3* CB Robin Harrington | 6'1" | 190 lbs
Harrington is the new look D-Back that Coach distrktFIVE is trying to bring to Vegas. He is modeling his team after his mentor in Oregon, Chip Kelly, by infusing the Rebels with team speed, especially at the skill positions but also not sacrificing size. Harrington has a big frame and above average speed and quickness. Look for Harrington to fight for a starting slot next year.

    3* G Kenan Yancey | 6'6" | 320 lbs
Yancey is a big boy with strength to match. Yancey excels in run blocking which will be welcomed at UNLV as they seem to be sticking with a running emphasis in 2011. Coach distrktFIVE wants to add depth on the O-Line and thinks this will be an area of focus in the recruiting classes to come as well.

2011 San Diego State Aztecs Recruiting News

    Week 3 News
The Aztecs got 2 more hard commits this week, again both coming from California natives. Rick Singletary will have a chance to start at either tackle postiion as the Aztecs will graduate both starting tackles. Strong Safety Nick Jones could also be thrown into the mix as a Freshman as the Aztecs graduate their top two at that position as well.

This is the Miner's strongest class in years led by 4 star recruit and #7 QB in the nation Jason Doucette. Other notables are #21 QB, 3* Scrambling QB Mark Siegel and the #23 Ath in the nation 3* Ben Larson. If UTEP can keep the recruits coming in they should have high hopes for next year.

I was leading the whole year with Harper. Oh well. He would have fit in perfectly if I kept the Wing-T but I think I finally have the athletes to move to a spread, so he'll fit your pro-style running game better. He made the right choice.

    UNLV's 2011 Class

I am making the transition to the Spread offensive (and sticking with it for a long time) and I am also moving to a 3-3-5 D, so I did a lot of recruiting for those ideas.

    So far I have 12 3* and 1*

    2 OL + 5 DBs [3 CB and 2 FS] = What I concentrated on

I also added some skill guys and a QB with some potential to run the spread well. Hopefully I'll like the scheme I am moving to or else I'll be screwed!
