Boise St. 42 Texas Tech 17 This game was all offense.... Tech passed for 348 yards and didn't turn the ball over, but were only able to manage 17 points. Boise's offense was efficient with a balanced attack thanks to how bad TT's D is. After Tech drove the field on their 1st drive, they didn't score until late in the 3rd on a FG and Boise led 28-10. HB Jay Ajayi suffered a concussion, but will be back next week. He's had a very disappointing season following his 1300+ yard season last year, safe to say he misses his old O-Line. QB Nick Patti - 16-20 for 255 yards, 2 TD, INT, 5 carries for 11 yards, rush TD HB Jay Ajayi - 10 carries for 52 yards, TD HB Derrick Thomas - 9 carries for 88 yards, TD FB Connor Peters - 3 carries for 27 yards, TD WR Matt Miller - 4 receptions for 69 yards, 2 TD TE Holden Huff - 7 receptions for 74 yards MLB Blake Renaud - 9 tackles, 1 deflection
Back at .500. Texas had a 30-0 lead at half and never looked back. KU should just stick to basketball. #18 Texas 51 - Kansas 14
0-3 Baylor 28-20 GG Wyrmreaver WSU 34-27 up 2 scores the entire game and done in by momentum in the 4th. Some ridiculous plays caused me to lose this @Utah 31-24 6 turnovers including 2 fumbles inside the 25 in the 4th qtr lost me this one. The last "fumble" was a pass that was ruled a fumble and returned with 2 minutes to play down 7 (that same "fumble" was ruled incomplete after review when the CPU reviewed it less than a week ago in my WSU dynasty. Ironically, that scoop & score would have put me up with less than 5 minutes to go vs BYU and I would've won the game, but it got called back and they kicked a FG for what turned out to be the game winner). Again I was up the whole game in this Utah game until those 2 fumbles. Kline was all over the place missing WIDE open receivers in the 4th because of the damn momentum by a mile and then the 2 fumbles. Also a pass that should have been complete got picked when a dude 2 yards behind my crossing 97 spd receiver slid in front of him to make a pick, also in the 4th. Made me want to quit the game. Chance to save our season tonight vs USC and Dru50, then recchem2000 and his Bruins.
Dude. Tell me about it. My LT let the DE run around him without contact TWICE in the final minute of the game. Happened again multiple times vs Utah, including the fumble. I'm distraught.
Oklahoma State University 24 Texas Christian University 40 Prior to the game on Saturday, TCU Coach Vandalay and OSU Coach SatansAngel1104 were seen chuckling together at midfield. When asked what they were discussing, Vandalay said, "Well, we were just saying how quickly things change. Last year, we met in the regular season and had a barnburner. Then we met in the Conference Championship and had another good game. We were the class of the conference last year, but this year, our teams are struggling and the media wants our heads." Both OSU and TCU entered the game with 0-2 records, so admittedly a lot was at stake. The Cowboys found the scoreboard first with a quick drive for a field goal. The Frogs responded with 3 first quarter scores (2 touchdowns) highlighted by a 30 yard strike from QB Trevone Boykin to WR JaJuan Story. Story added another touchdown catch before halftime. The Cowboys were just not able to get their offense on track, as their quarterback threw a whopping 6 interceptions. "We knew (OSU QB) Walsh is a younger player, so we decided to pressure him a bit. Devin Fields had 4 sacks on his own, and that alone made Walsh make some bad decisions." The Cowboys will have a bye next week to get themselves back on track while the Frogs will try to climb back to .500 against Southern Methodist next Saturday.
Boom29 I will post our game summary tomorrow afternoon. It's 1:30 and I'm run 5 calls in the time I've tried to sit down to get caught up; it doesn't look like it's gonna happen tonight.
34@21 After Dropping the Ball Against Trojans, Bears Pick Up First Win Against LA's Little Brother In a game Cal needed to save their season, they stepped up on the road and made the couple of plays they couldn't make the week before against USC. Particularly the defense came up big with 2 ints and Jeff Kline threw the ball well, going to 379 yards and 4 tds vs 0 ints. Bryce Treggs once again lit up the field, catching 5 passes for 143 yards and an 87 yard touchdown grab on the first play of the second half. RB Ervin has been really coming on as well and ran for 40 yards while making 5 catches for 57 yards and the clinching touchdown on a terrific effort play that can be seen on the wire. GG recchem2000 tough bones. Last year it was the run game, this year the pass. Thanks for the first win of the year, really needed that bad!
Jayrah Yep...GG man. Im really clueless on offense with this spread offense shit and it shows in my stats and games. I'll get there. I felt like if I could force one turnover or a punt the tide of the game may have changed. But I didnt. I couldnt stop your pass game. Im just glad my 6 straight user games to open the season is over!
Boise St. 38 Iowa St. 0 Defense played lights out behind LB Blake Renaud who had 9 tackles, 3 TFL, an INT, FF, and a deflection. Our running game really isn't what it used to be with the O-Line so we're relying on the pass a lot more this year. WR Matt Miller had another good day, going for 126 yards. My 1st shutout in the OD. I won't be on TSO until tomorrow afternoon.
USC 56 WSU 20 Not much to say here aside from the fact that the WSU coach is the anti Cheez. WSU ran the ball 3 times and passed it 62 times....hey is there a problem with a run/pass ratio of 3%? Once I adjusted to the fact that they were never going to run the ball my defense started playing a bit better. WR George Farmer had his best day as a Trojan, getting 6 catches for 171 yards and 3 TD's, and freshman HB Ty Isaacs had 107 yards and 2 TD's rushing. On defense CB Kevon Seymour played well, getting 2 INT's on the day. USC 38 Cal 35 USC wins another game on a last second score to move to 4-0. The defense really did not show up in this one, as they could not cover (Cal QB Zach Kline was 9-14 for 205 yards and 3 TDs) or tackle. Cal runners were sliding off USC tacklers like they were lubed up with grease, and the Cal OL and WR's were destroying guys blocking from the 'gun. Cal HB D. Ervin averaged 12 yards a carry and had 171 yards on the day. Thankfully, the offense was up to the task, as they were able to adjust to the aggressive man press scheme Cal implemented for the game and take what was offered....the running game between the tackles (HB Ty Isaacs had 22 carries for 115 yards) or passes over the middle against LB's/S's/nickel & dime CB's (WR's Victor Blackwell and Nelson Agholor combined for 7 catches for 134 yards to keep drives moving). The USC offense rolled up 562 yards and controlled the clock 19 minutes to 8 minutes for the Bears. The game came down to the 4th quarter, where USC got the ball in a 35-35 tie with 5 minutes left and went on a long time consuming drive to win the game with a 24 yard FG with no time remaining. Good game Jayrah. With that win, the Trojans have games against Oregon St and Colorado upcoming, with a visit to the Smurf Turf and the surprising Boise St Broncos led by Kapono in week 8.
Southern Methodist U 19 Texas Christian U 49 The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs notched another big conference victory this Saturday, posting a win against rival Southern Methodist University. The win paired two gunslinging teams that have both struggled at times this season. The first half was very competitive. The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead with a touchdown on their first offensive drive, a touchdown pass from Neal Burchase to Darius Joseph. The Frogs answered on the ensuing drive with a long 68-yard pass from Trevone Boykin to Brandon Carter. The Frogs scored on their next drive as well, with an impressive 50-yard scamper by HB Aaron Green, capitalizing on a missed assignment in the Mustang defense. The wheels simply fell off for SMU in the 3rd quarter. SMU QB Neal Burchase threw 2 interceptions and the Frogs offense became unstoppable with 4 touchdowns in the third stanza. After the game, Coach Vandalay was very modest about his team's victory, "Of course I'm happy with a win over a quality opponent like SMU. But let's be honest: if we play that game in (SMU's) Gerald Ford Stadium, if we throw 3 first half interceptions, we lose that game, I have little doubt. We have to clean up the turnovers on offense. I thought the defense did a great job harnessing a very powerful offense." TCU is on a 3 game winning streak and has a date at Baylor University next weekend. Meanwhile, SMU heads to Oklahoma State University, searching for their first win of the season.
The Horns and Aggies were back at it once again. One of Coach Mexi's goals was to renew the rivalry. Playing the Aggies meant having to play against QB Manziel, aka "Johnny Football". Maybe he stayed up too late trying to find a frat party in Austin, or maybe his arm hurt after signing too many autographs. Whatever it was, Johnny was anything but football. After Texas took an early 7-0 lead, aTm got the ball inside the Texas 5. But the Horns defense kept them out the endzone, forcing a FG. After another Texas score, the lone bright spot for the Aggies, HB Williams ripped off a 64 yard run. He scored a couple of plays later, making it 14-10. QB Ash would show Manziel he's not the only one with wheels for a white guy. He scrambled around and into the endzone on third down just before the half. Horns up 21-10 at the half. Manziel would start off the half by under-throwing his intended receiver and the ball being picked by CB Scott. Ash would show up Manziel once again, by throwing picks on back to back drives. The Longhorn defense would stifle the Aggies inside the 5 again, and forced FG's on both drives. The run game came alive in the fourth for the Horns, and a pass to TE McFarland gave Texas a 28-16 lead. The Aggies finally went hurry up needing two scores. On fourth down, Manziel would be swarmed by 3 Longhorn defenders, being tackled inches short if the first. Another TD sealed it for the Horns. #16 Texas 35 - #12 Texas A&M 16
I think we need to put CPU QBs back at 50 accuracy after this year. The 2 CPU QBs I've played have been terrible.
