All summaries for the Year Go In Here..
LA TECH 45
The LA TECH Bulldogs took the field without their Heisman winning receiver from a year ago and a new QB under center. The Coach decided to go with a more balanced attack compared to the pass heavy offense of last year. The game stayed close in the first half but the Bulldogs pulled away in the second led be Junior QB Cameron who threw for 3 TDs in the game.
Well the Black Knights got shellacked in West Point against Dan Persa and Northwestern.
Army was able to move the ball but fumbles killed the attack.... It's gonna be a long season and this head coach is second guessing his decision to move to West Point from Murfreesboro...
Navy opens with a W in WK.
Navy literally ran the whole ballgame as the Midshipman spotted WK 12 then rallied to win over the Hilltoppers 42-25. Navy came in this Game thinking 2 things, Get the Lead and Control the Clock. Didn't happen quite that way. WK came out with serious vigor as the took the opening KO and drove the ball down with a mixture of run and pass and scored with ease and the kicker missed the xtra point and WK had a early 6-0 lead. With Former Coach BC watching in the Crowd WK then forced a fumble on the KO and returned it for a TD and another Xtra point miss, but a 12-0 WK lead. What the Hell??
On the Next Drive Navy showed why their option offense is the stuff as GG Greene took the pitch, got around the corner and bolted 69 yrds for a Midshipman Td. The Lead was Trimed to 12-7 WK. Then on the Next drive WK continued to drive and WK's QB found his fb for a 2 yrd td pass and again another miss on the xtra point as WK held a 18-7 lead. Navy knew this was only the 1st quarter but the defense needed to get in gear if they were going to pull this one out. Then on the Next drive Navy drove down and this time Procter found his other WB Christian and he took it to the House on 45 yrds and WK held a 18-14 lead as the 1st quarter was finally over. Then in the 2nd Quarter Navy's Defense showed up forcing 3 sacks on the QB and getting 2 Int's. 1 int was returned for a Td and the Other was intercepted in the end zone as the 2nd quarter was coming to a close. and Navy held a 28-18 lead. Scoring was Procter found his WR for a TD pass and the Int returned for a TD. The in the 2nd Half Navy continued to run the ball kill the clock and play tough defense as the D sacked the qb 2 more times. Then WK got a fumble on a short pass and returned for a td and now Navy was up 28-25. Then Navy started a drive as the 3rd quarter was ending and scored as the 4th opened and a 34-25 Navy Lead. Then as the game wound down Navy ran their fb and he scored from 17 yrds out and a 42-25 closure to the game.
Navy chewed up over 200+ yrds on the ground and only 81 threw the air. navy got 8.9 yrds per rush and scored 4 times on the ground. GG Greene was the big rusher for 164 yrds and 2 td. Christian added 71 and 1 td, Fb Teich added 29 and 1 td and qb procter ran for 25.
Navy opens the season 1-0 and Get TCU Next Week.
LA TECH 34
The Bulldog defense came up big against the Vandals in Idaho. Starting QB Colbly Cameron went down after throwing 1 TD pass and the backup, RS Freshman Taylor Burch, was all over the place with the ball. LA Tech had to lean on their running game. Lyle Fitte had 147 yards and 2 TDs and Lennon Creer had 64 yards and 1 TD.
But Junior Free Safety Javontay Crowe had one interception and one forced fumble to lead the defense to a win.
Navy shocks TCU!
MD- Coming into this game CoachGrad was worried about the Vaunted TCU Passing attack and the Spread option of TCU, Knowing they have serious horses on that side, CG just wanted his guys to fight for 4 quarters and see what happens. It happened on TCU's 1st possession, TCU's QB drops a Pass to his HB and he is Gone for 48 yrds and a quick 7-0 TCU lead. TCU's size on Defense played a major role in the 1st half as they completely blew up the option attack of Navy as they just swarmed the offense. But Navy caught a break when TCU sent a full out blitz and Procter found Turner for 61 yrds and the Game was Tied at 7. Then after holding TCU to a 3 and out, Navy felt they had Mojo and it disapeared on the next play, Procter tried a option pitch to GG and he came in to block and the ball sailed and TCU picked it up and returned it for a TD and a 14-7 lead. Then after Navy went 3 and out, TCU then ran and passed the ball down the field and Pachell found Hicks for a 14 yrd TD and the xtra point was missed and TCU now lead 20-7 going into HT. CG said at HT he was going to scratch the zone defense and go man to man for the remainder of the game. It Worked as TCU found the going a bit Tougher as he guys were not as open and the Blitz packages were starting to Rattle Pachall. Navy forced a TO when Berry came on a Corner blitz and Hit Pachall and fumbled the ball and Paulson recovered and returned it for a TD and now TCU lead 20-14, Could it Be??? No other scoring for the 3rd quarter.
4th Quarter came with TCU Driving and it turned into points as they nailed a fg and extended the lead to 23-14. It looked as all Hope was lost and Procter went out briefly due to a shoulder strain, it opened the door for Navy as Johnson (soph) came in and threw a 20 yrd dart and that little trick worked as TCU started to not bring the heavy rush as they did before. Then TCU had the Ball and called a quick pass to the WO and it was INT'd and returned for a TD and TCU now had a 23-21 lead. Then TCU came out determined to TRY and Beat the MTM defense of Navy and Pachall threw his 2nd INT and Navy was in Business. Navy then went to the pass and drove the ball down and Procter Found Myers for a 13 yrd TD and Navy had their 1st lead of the Game. Navy kicked the xtra point after mulling over whether to go for 2 or not, and Navy had a 28-23 lead.
TCU then ran and Tried to pass vs the MTM Defense and Then with the Pass rush on Pachall he overthrew 3 straight times and Navy had the ball. Then Navy forced TCU their TO and Navy killed the rest of the clock to pull the Major Upset in this Game.
Procter threw for 187 and 2 TD's and 0 Int's
Running game was shut down most of the game with FB Teich leading the attack with 14 yrds.
Defense forced 3 TO's 2Int's and 1 Huge Fumble that cut TCU's lead to 2 points.
Navy is now 2-0 on the year.
ECU Shocks the Nation!!!Defeats #9 Virginia Tech 35-0East CarolinaIn Coach Zikry's 2nd game in charge, the ECU Pirates were at home to face the heavily favored Virginia Tech Hokies, but Zikry wasn't fazed by the odds-makers thinking his team would get blown out. "Let's just say that I have a plan against those guys". And boy did his plan work! After forcing Virginia Tech to punt ECU got the ball and used the aerial attack on their first drive, ultimately scoring on a 4 yard pass from Davis to his tight end, Justin Jones. Then, after the swarming ECU defense forced yet another punt, the ECU offense decided that the 2nd drive would be all about the run game as Michael Dobson ended the drive with a 7 yard run. ECU weren't done with their scoring in the 1st quarter as they forced the Virginia Tech running back, Ryan Williams, into fumbling the ball, which was scooped up and returned for a 16 yard score by senior strong safety Bradley Jacobs and as the 1st quarter came to a close the ECU Pirates were ahead 21-0.The 2nd quarter was more of the same as Virginia Tech couldn't get anything going on offense today. Michael Dobson would score his second rushing touchdown of the day, again from 7 yards out to increase the lead to 28-0, and with 1:21 the swarming ECU defense forced another fumble, which was picked up by junior defensive tackle Michael Brooks who huffed and puffed his way to a 56 yard fumble return for a touchdown. With the halftime score of 35-0 ECU brought on their second team as they played keep away with Virginia Tech, chewing down the clock by running the ball down their throats as the ECU defense picks up their first shutout of the season!ECU Player Stats:QB Dominique Davis: 9-17, 166 yards, 1 TD (154.3 rating)HB Michael Dobson: 11 carries, 47 yards, 2 TDsFS Derek Blacknall: 6 total tackles, 1 forced fumble

La Tech 34
#2 Boise St 31
The La Tech Bulldogs upset #2 Boise St. in Ruston behind the arm of QB Colby Cameron. Boise St. got ahead early, but La Tech came clawing back to take the lead before the end of the 1st half. In the 2nd half, the Bulldogs were ahead by 4 when the Broncos had a third and 1. QB Kellen Moore ran an option and the pitch was intercepted by the Bulldogs and returned for a TD. The 11-point lead would be too much to overcome for Boise St. Boise played catch up for the rest of the 4th and Moore completed a TD pass with no time left on the clock. But the game had been decided.
