Sooners Stun Stillwater
For Oklahoma, it doesn't get much better than beating rival Ok St in Stillwater.
STILLWATER- Oklahoma gets their 10th win of the season against in-state rival OK St. with a 37-22 victory. After lasts weeks gutsy performance against the Baylor Bears, Sooners QB Blake Bell once again managed the game and led his team to another win. He completed 21 of his 27 passing attempts for 331yds and 2 td's. He also added another 40yds on the ground including a 15yd rumble for a score. Oklahoma concludes their regular season next week against the West Virginia Mountaineers!
Still waters run deep!
Apparently the Pitt Panters are not good at defending the run. They gave up 357 rushing yards today against The 'Ville. The Cards went deep in the deck both in the playbook and on the roster with 4 RBs getting at least one carry. The game was easier than usual because Pitt could not consistently keep a drive going. They did nothing but pass and their QB only completed 43% of his passes. They ended up with 1 rushing yard.
Teddy Bridgewater took player of the game in limited time on the field with 258 total yards (124 passing and 134 rushing) while completing 8 out of 10 passes. Most the the second half was pretty much all downhill running with a multitude of backs.
The only negatives on the day were injuries to backup RB Jeremy Wright who is a consistent contributor and starting DE BJ Dubose. Both players will be out at least 3 weeeks. Hopefully they will be back in business for the bowl game.
Here's a shot of the rushing comparison for today. Ground and Pound baby!
Battle In The Dome Temple Outlasts Syracuse A Big East brawl was staged between Temple and Syracuse showing that records are irrelevant when these two square off. The 'Cuse jumped out to a 14-0 lead after a pick six and a gutting drive. Temple was able to rebound and tie the game with under 2 minutes left in the half. In a burst of scoring, Syracuse and Temple would trade KO return TD's before the Orangemen would put together another quick strike drive right before the half to take a 28-21 lead at the break. That's the last scoring Syracuse would muster as Temple tacked on a Fg in the 3rd and a TD with under 4 mintes remaining in the game for a 31-28 lead. The Owl defense held Syracuse to quick 3 and out and were then able to pick up a couple 1st downs and run out the clock.
Nice to see my guys still play tough when I'm not able to lead them
Cincinnati vs Connecticut The Cincinnati Bearcats took care of business in Week 13, beating the Huskies 31-17 and going on a two win streak. Munchie Legaux threw for 3 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 226 yards while Jamaal Poteat ran for 129 yards on 23 attempts and 1 TD. Andrew Chenault racked up 5 tackles and 1 interception while holding Connecticut to two touchdowns. The Bearcats look to end their season on a high note next week against USF in what should be a close battle for pride at the bottom of the Big East conference.
Good job. I don't like those stinking Huskies. They have flees.
