    FRESHMEN LED BOBCATS ROLL 48-7

It appears that a new era of TSU football dawned at Wacker Field on Saturday at the host Bobcats destroyed the Vandals of Idaho 48-7. It wasn't the score that will catch the attention of the fans, rather it was the play of the highly touted freshmen class that has created a buzz on campus.

Here's how the new guys faired:

    QB Sonny Coleman 11-18 168 yds. 3td, 0 int. 10 car. 32 yds. 1 td
RB Jarrett Whitehead 12 car. 130 yds. 1 td
WR Jess Haynes (JUCO JR transfer) 4 rec. 20 yds. 1td
WR Marcus McKinney 2 rec. 29 yds.
TE Anthony Jolly 2 rec. 21 yds.
    T Jon Harris 4 pancakes 0 sacks
    T Herman Smith 3 pancakes 0 sacks
    G Lance Russ 3 pancakes 0 sacks
MLB Dustin King 8 tack. 1 sack 1 FF 1 FR
    SS Jon Joseph 7 tack
DE Reggie Gray 3 tack 1 sack
    OLB Craig Smiley 2 sacks
K Brian White 2-3 fgs (long of 41, missed from 47)

    Look out SunBelt!!!

    All videos loaded fine.

    Owls Season Preview.

In year two of the rebuilding project, we have a team that went from 1 win to 6 wins to a possibility to get over the hump and go bowling this season. I am happy to be reunited with Goose, and look forward to facing him in the final regular season game.

The offense, will be lead by JUCO Sophmore QB Rick Lewis. Lewis will bring mobility and a decent arm. HB TJ Moon returns for his sophmore season but may split some carries this year, with two decent options with returning JR Damien Fortner, who found the end zone 5 times last year, more than TJ Moon. Also, true freshman Max Mathis will get a few looks, as he brings some much needed speed. 4 out of the top 5 wr's are freshman, lead by Mirivil and the speedy Robert Ferweda. The O-Line will continue to be a work in project for the next few years so....we will be getting rid of the ball quickly.

The defense will be led by the OLB, both returners and the best players on my defense. The MLB position will be reeling with the loss of David Hinds. Who, had a better season than most linebackers in the country last year but was snubbed for all major awards. Andra Kirk will step in but he will be pushed by Aaron Burley, the heavily recruited MLB who spurned Florida State to come play in Boca. The defensive backfeild will be sprinkled with both Seniors and Freshman. Highly rated CB, Brandon Caldwell will start opposite returner Kenneth Reaser. The kicking game should be vastly improved with the addition of Mike Harris, a 82 ovr all kicker.

MTSU gets an easy win against a instate cupcake opponent

Simple as this MTSU only trailed after giving up a blown coverage touchdown to Memphis that put up 7-0 and after that it was all MTSU scoring 38 unanswered points.
It was a career day for senior running back W. Pratcher with his dominating play. The offense is just picking up right where it left off from last season and this is dominating and frustrating the defense with the mixed play calling and keeping the D guessing. However the defense is a huge surprise with their dominating play in todays game after they got the jitters out after the first touchdown they gave up. It could be one of those special kind of season for the MTSU Blue Raiders, and could be one of the Dark horses to win the sun belt conference. It certainly helps that it a veteran lead team with all starting spots except for 3 position being filled by a junior or a senior.

FINAL SCORE MTSU 38 memphis 7

    Qb L. Kilgore 14-25 180 yards 1 td 1 int
    Hb W. Pratcher 21 carries 165 yards 4 tds
    Wr K. Griswould 4 rec 86 yards

Lol for whatever reason whoever was defending the guy he passed just decided he wanted to go too the other side of the field and not cover him and he ened up scoring

Bulls route Air Force in home opener 33-7

Branden Oliver made his case to be mentioned with the big time running backs in power conferences with a strong opening performance. Oliver owned the Falcon defense to the tune of 194 yards on 27 carries and 2 rushing touchdowns. He also added 5 catches for 65 yards and 76 return yards. If Oliver can perform at this pace this fall, look for Oliver's notoriety to sky rocket.

Not lost in Olivers great showing was the amazing performance by the Bulls defense. Senior Linebacker Khalil Mack had a career game with 4 sacks. Freshman safety Brandon Webb was also a standout leading the team with 9 tackles (2 for loss). The Bulls defense forced 3 turnovers with each corner grabbing an interception. The Bulls will look to keep things rolling next week as they travel to Baylor.

    UTSA 24, Oklahoma State 10

It was certainly the biggest win in the University of San Antonio's short football history. But that doesn't mean it was pretty.

Playing at home in the Alamodome (love playing here btw. night games look amazing!), the Roadrunners scored a massive upset against powerhouse Oklahoma State despite recording a paltry 165 yards of total offense. You didn't misread that. 165 total yds. By taking care of the ball (0 TOs) and waiting for the Cowboys to make the mistakes (5TOs), the Roadrunners scored a huge and unlikely victory to begin the 2013 college football season.

Entering the 4th quarter down by 3, the Roadrunners would tie it up with a short field goal at the beginning. An interception and 9yd scamper by squirrely QB Eric Soza saw the Roadrunners take the lead just a minute later. The final dagger in the Cowboys coffin would come with an unbelievable deflection interception by strong safety Nic Johnston with the Cowboys driving. 24-10 Roadrunners.

Senior MLB Steven Kurfehs had a monster game, recording 14 tackles, 2 forced fumbles. WR Kam Jones led the offense with 5 catches for 43yds (and continuing to build his quite illustrious record-setting career number of drops with 2 more in the game). The biggest concern going forward is more of the same from last year: they simply have no running back to speak of.

Disclaimer: I'm gonna leave difficulty talk alone. I think it's too easy. But I'm gonna have a blast (game was real fun!) and we'll revisit at season end.

Videos failed to upload. Had a couple of unreal sweet INTs I was hoping would save.

Oklahoma State sucks. Who in the world would ever root for those dbags? It's like someone took 22 possums, tied them down in the middle of the road, took their truck and ran over them, then reversed, then got out of the truck nude, rolled around with the dead possums a bit and then put on some orange, black, and poop and then drank some johnson & johnson baby shampoo. Terrible school. What a joke.

I do however agree that the difficulty is kind of easy but its mostly because the run game easy. I believe that the passing game is pretty spot or at least for me it is hard enough because the wide receivers cant catch very well lol

    NOTE ABOUT TEAM PAGES:

Make sure that you go into google docs and drag the 2013 tab in to the first position so that it's what we see on the first screen.
