What's the timeline on advancing? I just got back in town so won't be able to play til tonight.
Still a day or two away
BAMA moved methodically down the field on a drive that took 4 1/2 minutes off the clock and was finished off by a 1-yard TD by HB Trent Richardson. Oregon comes out looking good but the drive stalled out leaving the Ducks to settle for a FG. The first quarter ends 7-3 BAMA.
Oregon got it going with two TD passes from Sr. QB Darron Thomas, who hooked up with (RS) Soph TE Curtis White and (RS) Freshman Devon Blackmon for 16 and 33 yards respectively. The Ducks closed out the second qharter with a FG as time expired making the score 20-7 at the half.
Oregon got the ball to start the half but gave up back to back sacks on a quick 3 and out. HB Eddie Lacy broke a tackle on the ensuing punt return and took it 67-yards to the house. After exchanging punts, the score was 20-14 at the end of the third.
The Ducks were able prevent the comeback by forcing two key interceptions, one of which was ran back 76 yards for a TD by FS John Boyett. Oregon made the 2-pt conversion to go up 28-14. A late FG sealed the deal. Final score 31-14 Oregon.
Next up for the Ducks:The Gators come to Autzen...Oregon needs to make sure they don't get caught looking ahead to their consecutive matchups against Nebraska and Arizona State.
Buckeyes make a Statement with 31-0 win in Gainesville
Wow...with a still very young Buckeye team facing their first big road test of the season, they really brought their A game against the Gators. After a scoreless first quarter, Braxton Miller found Chris Fields over the middle for a 16 yd TD pass to give the Buckeyes a 7-0 lead. After a solid defensive series, Corey "Philly" Brown broke away from press coverage and the safety was late to cover as Miller found him for a 65 yd TD pass. A late FG gave OSU a 17-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, the game was still in doubt for a while as Florida was able to move the ball into OSU territory, but each time made a crucial mistake to end their scoring chance. Included in this were 2 red zone INTs and 2 missed FGs. OSU put the game away early in the 4th as Braxton Miller scored on a 2 yd QB sneak. After a pick at the 10 by the OSU defense, Jamaal Berry took a toss around the right side for a 90 TD run. He finished the day with 197 yds rushing.
While the Buckeyes aren't considered a legit championship contender at this moment, they may yet sneak up on some teams and at least improve on last year's mediocre 8-5 season. The key will be having good balance on offense and not turning the ball over. Coach Keves is now 2-0 since taking over before the bowl game last season and will look to keep it going against Cincy, TCU, and Cal before starting Big 10 play.
Braxton Miller 13-23 229 yds 2 TD, 1 rush TD
Jamaal Berry 22 rushes, 197 yds TD
Corey Brown 6 rec, 142 yds TD

The Cornhuskers start out their 2012 season with a closer than expected victory over UCLA. Nebraska got off to a slow start on both sides of the ball and it was close throughout the whole game before a late 4th quarter TD put the game away. New Nebraska QB Brion Carnes had a decent game accounting for 3 touchdowns, 2 passing and 1 running and was named player of the game. Next week The Cornhuskers have a tuneup game with Miami University before a huge game with the Oregon Ducks.
