Clemson Upsets Crimson Tide Tigers Knock Off #1 Bama 27-15 Tuscaloosa, AL- The #4 Clemson Tigers got an early season test against Nick Saban, TJ Yeldon and the Crimson Tide and passed with flying colors. The story of the win for Clemson was the play of the defense. They held Alabama to 262 yards of offense and forced 2 turnovers. Even more impressive was shutting down the Alabama rushing game and holding them to only 34 yards on 19 attempts. Clemson ended up with 328 yards of offense 133 passing and 195 rushing. The running game was led by DJ Howard who had 111 yards on 19 carries. Sammy Watkins paced the WR with three catches for 75 yards, including a bomb as time expred in the second quarter. Clemson took a shot downfield with :02 left on the clock, and for the first time, maybe ever, Watkins was pulled down from behind. Chad Kelly was 9-15 for 133 yards and 1 pick, but he did score on the ground. Mackensie Alexander was the star of the defense coming up with both interceptions of Blake Sims. Clemson will face Texas in Week 4.
