Nebraska improves to 6-1 on the year with a big home win against Penn State. Nebraska HB Aaron Green carried the Nebraska offense on the day and had a huge game as he ended up with 247 yards on 25 carries and 4 touchdowns. The Cornhusker defense also had great day as they held the Penn State offense in check for most of the day and forced 3 second half turnovers on fumbles which set the offense up with great field position which the Cornhuskers turned into 21 points and put the game away. Next week Nebraska has another big home game as they welcome the #3 ranked Michigan Wolverines to Lincoln.

    Spartans Stunned by Michigan

The Michigan Wolverines continue their winning streak to 16 games as they put a hefty beating on their hatred rival Michigan State 56-14. Now the Wolverines are 6-0. Michigan's Jr Quarterback Devin Gardner also continues his personal streak of 11 touchdowns without throwing a pick while throwing 14-25 for 273 and 3 touchdowns and no int's and rushed for 83 yards and a rushing touchdown. Devin's completion percentage would have been better had it not been for the 5 drops his WR's and TE's had in this contest. Michigan's runningbacks continue to split carries and both are making the most of their time. Both Stephen Hopkins and Vincent Smith combined for 177 and 4 touchdowns. Vincent Smith had 3 of those touchdowns.

Michigan's coach Dan Swoboda wasn't happy at all with his defense. Wolverines defense gave up too many big plays when they needed it. All tho they also made big plays when they needed it. Their defense couldn't contain Junior Dion Sims who had 5 receptions for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 80 yard reception. Last year Sims also caught 2 touchdowns against the Wolverines. Runningback LeVeon Bell had 129 yards on 19 rushes and had a bunch of key firstdowns on draw plays when they needed it.

Coach Swoboda said "We needed this win as were about to goto Lincoln and face a very tough team next week." Which is true, as Michigan faces Coach Swoboda's 6-1 Nebraska Cornhuskers in week 9. Both teams know each other very well and will most likely go down as one of the better match-ups in the nation.
