As we round out week 4, the debut of the season 3 computer polls is right around the corner
It's way too early to read into the rankings too much as most of the games have been against non conference computer opponents. But 4 weeks in the books, it gives us some introductory information into finding out who is for real as we head into conference play.

I will debut the new rankings after the advance
but for now, enjoy a strength of schedule rankings

    1 Arizona 88.04
    2 UCLA 87.63
    3 Oregon St 86.63
    4 Cal 86.46
    5 Utah 86.08
    6 Colorado 85.96
    7 Washington 85.54
    8 Arizona St 84.46

Arizona has the toughest schedule of all the users while rival ASU actually holds the easiest.

Haha I mis-read it, I didn't realize these were just strength of schedule.

Your win to Army may have been the lowest rated win in the history of LV. at least its +1 in the win column

I'm more interested in wins and losses than this poll. I'll take a 2-1 record and being ranked 8th than being 1-2 or 2-2 and ranked "higher" :)

Colorado and UCLA with the early season win and still falling in the rankings because of earlier User wins to boost them up. Cal with the big step up on the win over USC

Not sure what's not impressive about beating a team that was better than me at pretty much every position even if it was the CPU but alright.

It was a good win, but the way the system is set up, the baseline for every game is somewhere around 60 i think. So when you do great, you get a high ranking but the fact that you already were overachieving earlier this year means it's hard to get much better unless you start dominate. And the polls are weighted for User Wins as the computer is not overly impressive. I dont think we'll ever see a team in the 90s with this ranking system but we do see games in the mid to high 90s if every thing goes right It's just too hard to maintain a score that high.

Things may take more tweaking to get better but overall, I feel the rankings do seem to be a good look at whats going on.

Ah gotcha. My bad, I guess I didn't fully understand how the system worked. Good stuff though, seems like you have it pretty figured out over there. It's cool to see. I didn't know they were weighted more for User wins, I just figured it was based on the teams overall rating. I like it with it based more on user games though.

    2 UCLA - 71.45 (5-0) 1.32
    3 Colorado - 68.29 (5-1) -4.21
    4 Utah - 65.83 (3-3) -1.22

    8 Arizona - 54.6 (1-4) -0.46
Rough game for Colorado last week as USC came in and roughed them up. OSU and UCLA slip ahead to the top 2 spots. Washington is starting to claw it's way back out of the basement after a nice win vs Utah

    WEEK 10
    1 Oregon St - 74.11 (6-1) 0.23
    2 UCLA - 69.25 (6-1) 1.33
    3 Colorado - 68.93 (6-1) 0.64
    4 Utah - 65.56 (4-4) -1.26
    5 Cal - 64.03 (6-2) 0.67
    6 Washington - 63.89 (5-2) 1.31
    7 Arizona St - 58.5 (4-4) -0.75
    8 Arizona - 57 (2-5) 0.92

as a comparison to the final rankings last year after the regular season:
    Oregon St - 76.48
    UCLA - 70.92
    Washington - 69.58
    Arizona St - 65.21
    Cal - 64.6
    Utah - 62.42
    Arizona - 55.52

the top remains the same, with the addition of Colorado this year. The formula is slightly different this year with a little more negative emphasis on each loss situation but still a little interesting to me to compare

I just don't see HOW Cal is above Washington when I beat him head-to-head. There should be some consideration for that.

edit: and how the hell is Utah above me at 4-4? JESUS! Inaccurate rankings sir.

A few notes. The fact that Utah and Cal have each played more games then Wash means they have an easier path at bringing their average up. You still have time to catch up
Im not exactly sure how my ranking is higher then you too still. I have 4 losses but 3 are user losses (2 mid ranked) and the other was a top 5 ranked CPU loss and before today my biggest loss was only 7 points. I have been consistently average in my weekly grade. beating good USC and Oregon teams on the road were nice CPU wins for me
For Washington the loss to Arkansas hurt. you still have both Oregon and Stanford as well as a high ranked UCLA in your future. Youre kind of through the easy part of your schedule already so your ranking has a lot of potential to shoot up. But the fact that you have the highest rated team and the 2nd weakest schedule of the users do factor in that the poll *expect* you to be the best team

    Give it time

Hm..interesting. When it comes to user games, they're all a challenge tho IMO.

    A few grading score notes
Your loss to Ark graded out as a 50.75. Your best game was Arizona when you got a 71.75
My Loss to bama graded a 54.50 and my best win was USC graded as a 78.75
The highest graded game of the entire year of all users was Colorado beating me, getting an 85.75
The Lowest grade all year was Alabama over Arizona, getting a 46.25

Even though it is near impossible, if you blowout UCLA this year, potentially you can get a grade of 93.50 in that matchup. you have 2 users left and 2 rivals.
