Titans Win Big at Home
CJ Putting the Move on Honey Badger as he breaks away for a 78 yard TD
Tennessee gets a big win at home versus a division rival with a score of 37-17. Titans had everything clicking and only forced 1 turnover on an ill-advised throw from the 2nd year player Ryon Jeleric. Aside from that he played smart and made the throws when it counted. He connected for his first TD of the year to WR Justin Hunter on an 8 yard passing play that Hunter fought his way into the endzone and would roll in. The story as always out of Titans was the defensive effort and the rushing effort. CJ would go for 170 and a TD as the defense would get 4 ints, 1 of which was a pick six from MLB Moise Fokou.
Houston showed signs of greatness at times, the defense showed signs of life with JJ Watt and others. Offense showed signs of greatness as well even with Arian Foster not quite getting rolling like they might like him to do. Big Ben and Andre Johnson are a couple of weeks out from reaching that connection needed to win big games, and this was a big game in the division that they would like to have had later in the year with a new QB/WR connection to establish.
The bengals coach was quoted saying after the game..."I do not know how we pulled this out guys, we were down 20-7 in the 2nd quarter. and we come back and win!"
Hit had my number all game ...I could not stop him until about mid way through the game.
BEARS Open with Home Win, Shut-out Packers
Chicago 23 - Green Bay 0
- Aaron Rodgers Struggles: 3 picks and 7 sacks as his offensive line could not protect him. Cornelius Washington (pictured above) had 3 sacks, while Peppers and Melton each had 2. Green Bay was held to less than 100 yards of total offense.
- Ground Game was the Offense's Forte: Matt Forte finished with 150 yards rushing as the offensive line shined in the trenches. The offense went run heavy after Jay Cutler was sacked multiple times early on, and the focus-change ended up paying dividends.
Payton picks up W #1 as a Card
Arizona helped by 6 picks sneaked by the Vikes. The big play of the game was made by Patrick Peterson as he would get an INT at their own 2 and he would take it all the way back. On the next play from scrimmage he would make another pick and these 2 play would prove to be deadly.GM Krobot said after the game "We need more performances like that from our defense if we plan to reach our goal of winning the super bowl.
Troy Polamalu game ending pick his 2nd of the game.
Colts Win Division & Home Opener 47-10
The Colts returned from Baltimore and learned they acquired the services of Webb from the Vikings just as they were preparing to face Divisional rival Tennessee in Indy's home opener. The Colts behind the restructured line got off to a good start as they took the opening kickoff and methodically drove the field and scored to go up 7-0. The Colts defense feeding off the offenses product stopped the explosive Titan offense and gave the ball back to their offense. The Colts once again methodically drove the field and went up 14-0 on the Titans. The game continued in this direction ad the Colts line created nice running lanes that allowed Richardson to rush for 27 yards on 25 carries and also allowed his backup Micheal Smith to rush for 113 more yards. Luck was very productive as he went 8 of 9 for 165 yards and more importantly no interceptions. The Colts defense also tuned in a nice game as they limited Johnson to 34 yards on 7 carries and were able to pick off Jerelic 5 times. Overall it was a good win, but only 1 win and still a long long season ahead.

Steelers Defense leads the way to a 20-3 win over the Redskins
Pittsburg held the second straight opponent without a TD and forced 5 turnovers. They were also able to contain RGIII and Alfred Morris, the explosive read option tandem.
Two players that were the unsung heros were P Chase Henry who had 3 punts inside the 3 and another at about the 10. Pinning the Redskins deep. Washington was able to move the ball out 3 of the 4 times. But going up against long 90 yard fields requires few mistakes. Even with a few first downs, the ball stayed on the Redskin side of the field.
With the 3 QB glitch the Steelers wanted a running threat to run the read option portion of Mark Brunnel's offense, Enter Pat White. Pat was working as a manager of a Burger King in North Carolina when he got the call to be the Steelers #3 QB. In a Twist of Fate the Redskins cut Pat White in Sept.
With the score 6-0 after 2 FGs Pittsburgh had the ball at there own 9. For some crazy reason Antonie brown wanted to catch a punt in the endzone even though i moved him away from the ball. He went back and caught it and only gets to the 9. Enter Pat White. The play was perfectly blocked and setup. OG Decastro just got to the SS before he could make a play and White was off to the races. 91 yd td run to make it a 13-0 game.
COWBOYS DEFEAT REDSKINS IN HOME OPENER
The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins have a long history with each other and the rivalry is still very much alive. It was a classic defensive struggle between the Boys and Skins as neither team was able to find a rhythm early. The Redskins would put up the first points of the game on a 33 yard FG in the 2nd and at first it seemed as if Washington would carry momentum into the 2nd half but Dallas would answer back in a big way when rookie QB Connor Phillip found Miles Austin for a 12 yard TD with only seconds remaining in the half giving the Cowboys a 7-3 advantage. Phillip would put up two more TD passes in the 3rd quarter one to Dez Bryant and another in the form of a 39 yard pick 6 to Washington CB Josh Wilson. The 4th quarter was all Cowboys as the running game proved too much for the Redskins defense. A DeMarco Murray TD and a 23 yard FG by Dan Bailey sealed the deal for Dallas as they defeated the Redskins 24-10.
Jelercic Goes Off Vs Jags
I don't have a cool pic or a video, but imagine Shonn Greene doing this as he goes in the endzone
Titans had a tough loss on the road in week 2. Owner Ryne Jones had a meeting with the second year coach and told him that never needs to happen again. So Titans were determined to show up for the coach. Offensively they were firing in the passing game as 2nd year player Ryon Jelercic had a career day going 13/18 320 yards 3 TDs and 1 int. This is a complete turn around from week 2. He stated after the game, "after the first big play to (Kendall) Wright, I gained a lot of confidence in my WR's and knew they could beat the secondary". Will this confidence slip into next week as they seek revenge vs Colts, or will week 2 happen all over again? The above run with demarco, can be a visual image of what Shonn Greene did on the goal line as he was stumbling into the endzone. It was a great effort that put a big DT on his back side.
Defensively, things couldn't start any worse. As in week 2, the opponent had their ways with the defense. The defensive coordinator had to have a group meeting with his squad after the first drive of jags as it resulted in a TD. He simply said, "play for your jobs". Meaning no one is guaranteed a spot next season at this point. Play like you don't have a job tomorrow. This sparked the team as they rallied for 4 takeaways following that. It was the passing game this week that was weak for Tennessee. Things will be worked on and adjustments need to be made. We can't afford to give Colts 2 wins on us this season.
Nice that you were forced to use a gif of DeMarco Murray to do it HAHA!
Chargers Rally, Win Home Opener
38 - 34
San Diego, CA - A new era in San Diego began in week 3 of the season. The 1-1 Chargers welcomed the 0-2 Panthers to their brand new (and very f***ing expensive) futuristic stadium to show the San Diego fanbase what their new look Chargers had for this season. It started out ugly.
In a game that started out close, Carolina began to pull away on the arm and legs of QB Cam Newton. For San Diego, QB Philip Rivers started with a horrific game, ending his night with 5 total interceptions. Heading into the 4th quarter, San Diego was down 31-17 and some of the fans began to leave their expensive seats, believing the same old Chargers were back in town. Rivers thought otherwise.
Orchestrating clean, effective drives, Philip Rivers led his team to a 31-31 tie ball game with little time on the clock. San Diego would get the ball back, but to everyones demise, Rivers turned into Tony Romo and threw a late Interception (his 5th total) to give Carolina the ball back with great field position and little time left on the clock. Carolina decided to go for it. They would convert one 3rd down, but instead of running the ball and taking the clock all the way down, two incompletions would stop the clock with around 1 minute left, leaving the Chargers with 2 Timeouts in their pocket. Carolina would convert the Field Goal and go up 34-31, giving Philip Rivers time for redemption.
Rivers would choreograph a beautiful drive, bringing SD down to the Carolina 3 yard line with 14 seconds remaining. With no timeouts remaining, HC Andy Reid dialed up a passing play. It was a touchdown or incompletion to stop the clock, as a run could potentially bring the clock to 0 if Tamiani failed to convert. Carolina brought everyone, leaving Darius Marcus wide open on drag route, making it all too easy for Rivers to find him for the go ahead score. The TD caused the remaining fans to erupt, putting San Diego back on the path to promise. GG Spayer419
I know our game was at least worthy of a game recap right DC ? Lol
eh ...i scored alot...you scored alot ...pistol..meh ..blah
5 touchdowns 5 interceptions for Rivers? LOL
Also, 5 touchdowns to 5 different receivers? That is pretty impressive Cimmy24
Had to level it out.
On the Mark....
Vikings score late to beat the Boys, 24-20
Jags finally get a win
After a disappointing loss against the Bengals and two blowout losses against the Dolphins and Titans, Jacksonville guts one out and gets its first win of the season against the Lions on the road, 16-14. The game was a defensive battle with both teams offenses not doing much of anything. The game seemed to be the Lions' to lose until the OC finally got his head out of his butt and put together some good drives to put the Jags on top. The defense would put a cap on things putting and end to the Lions come back drive to end the game. Gus Bradley said he was relieved to finally get the monkey off his back. Jags defensive coordinator Derek Mason said that he had to adjust his defensive approach to make sure he had his players in the best position to make plays. He also said that giving up so many points early on makes you reevaluate things.
Jags Impressive in Win
After getting their first win of the season last week, the Jags follow it up winning at home against the Colts, 10-28. Derek Mason's defense were the stars of the game. After allowing a first quarter score, they tightened up and didn't allow another TD the rest of the game. their goal line stance later in the game seemed to take the wind out the Colts offense. The delay of game penalty didn't help either. The front seven were able to keep Luck from getting too comfortable putting him on the ground 4 times and hurrying him a few times during the game. Despite what the box score says, Richardson had one big run. After that he could barely get out the backfield, thus making the Colts somewhat one dimensional. Even though the Jags only had 53 yards rushing, the runs were very effective when they needed to be. Rainey was good running the ball and catching passes out the backfield. Glaud has some nice runs, including some shifty running to score a late TD. Gus Bradley said while its good to get a win like this, there is still much work to do.
Giants Stumble Past Panthers
Charlotte, NC- On a rain soaked afternoon in North Carolina, The Carolina Panthers (1-3) and the New York Giants (1-3) both entered the game desperately needing a win to keep their season on track. Both teams new the weather was going to make it a dog fight, but neither team knew exactly what was in store. After receiving the opening kickoff, the Panthers offense was unable to do anything on their first two possesions failing to cross the 50 yard line both times. The Giants couldn't do much either and were held to FGs on both possesions despite excellent starting field position. The Panthers would finally get their offense together and drive deep into Giants territory only to have the drive fail after reaching the Giants 4 yard line. With the half winding down, the Giants held the ball and a 13-3 lead. After having scored the only TD of the day on a fumble recovery the Giants offense finally showed some life. With the ball first and goal at the Panthers 5, the Giants looked to slowly move out of reach. But with 3 tries they were unable to score and settled for a FG.
Coming out for the second half the Panthers looked determined. The Giants received the opening kickoff, but 3 plays later QB Korey Ryan threw an INT. The Panthers would score a TD on the ensuing drive. After another quick Giants 3 and out the Panthers would score again giving them a 17-16 lead. The Giants had an answer as Korey Ryan broke free on a 56 yard run to set the Giants up in good field position. They would punch the ball in on 4th down and convert the 2 point conversion to take a 24-17 lead. The Giants would get the ball back and kick a FG to take a 27-17 lead. The Panthers hopes were fading fast. A quick drive down the field gave the Panthers hope but after Cam Newton took a big sack they settled for a FG. to pull within 7. With 4 minutes remaining the Giants looked to run out the clock and did so. They moved down the field and scored a TD to take a commanding 34-20 lead with a little over two minutes remaining. The Panthers would score on a long bomb with little over a minute left but failed on the ensuing onside kick, and the Giants held on 34-27. GG Spayer419 the drops and the weird TO's killed you.
Vikings Score a Big One at Home
Arizona Wins In OT
This game would prove to be a thriller. The Lions would jump out to a 10-0 lead on Arizona. Payton would respond back with a deep ball 49 yards to TJ Graham. The next big play would come from Larry Fitzgerald as Manning would find him to put them inside the 10. Donald Brown would punch It in as time expired to give the Cards the lead at half.
In the second half, The Lions would take the lead back, but Arizona would tie it with a FG with 1:45 left in the game. The Lions would throw a deep back to Magatron as time expired, but he would be stopped at the 1. In overtime it looked like we would have the first tie of the HK season, but with about 4 minutes left in Lions territory the Cards would roll the dice and go for it on 4th down and they would find success as Manning would find his favorite target in this game Graham for the 1st down. This would end up leading to a game winning FG byMedlock.

Titans Win at Home on Game Winning FG
The Tennessee Titans needed a turn around of events this season to get their wheels rolling. The NY Jets would come into the stadium looking to thrash Tennessee. Titans were firing and looking sharp at the start of the game making long drives that were proving to be tearing apart the Jets D. It wasn't until an up by 10 interception that got Jets rolling. Moreover the running game of Jets is the strong point of the game and this was proving to be the point. Huge holes began to open up and he was not afraid to use the read option especially in the red zone but the Titans D was holding, Wimbley was simply not going to let that happen. The game ended with yet another huge run that was dominated with runs from the Tennessee squad that left a game winning FG to win it.

Dallas takes game two vs Redskins
The Dallas Cowboys traveled to Landover for their second meeting of the season against the Washington Redskins. It was a must win game for the Skins who had yet to secure a win on the year and the Cowboys were looking to bounce back after dropping two straight close games. Unfortunately for the Redskins the Cowboys defense got off the team plane with a huge chip on their shoulders as they managed to keep the Skins out of the end zone in a 24-6 rout.
DeMarco Murray's punishing TD run
East Rutherford, NJ- The Browns and Giants went head to head in a thrilling matchup in East Rutherford New Jersey. Both teams entered the day 2-3 looking to get back to .500 for the season. The Giants jumped up to a quick 14 point lead, but after that the teams traded scores with neither team giving an inch. Both rush defenses were stout as the two offenses combined for just 103 yards rushing and were it not for the 4 big rushes of 26, 22 and 15 yards, the totals would've been even smaller. With this dominance by the front 7, it came to the secondaries to make plays. The Giants defense was able to force 5 interceptions on the day, and were making big pass breakups in the secondary all day. The Browns secondary did not have the same luck and the Giants were able to take advantage.
Trailing late by 17, the Browns made a big push. After forcing a fumble the Browns were able to drive down the field and get a FG. On the next Giants possesion, QB Korey Ryan who was fabulous on the day made his first mistake and throw a ball that was intercepted by Tashaun Gipson and returned to the house to pull the Giants lead to 7. Facing a 3rd down the Giants were looking at giving the ball back and potentially their lead with it, but QB Korey Ryan found Adrien Robinson up the seam for a 46 yard reception. The Giants would punch the ball into the endzone and put one of the final nails in the coffin.
GG Ryty that pick 6 scared me to death.
