PUT EM UP!
Miami fights back to win home opener on a late fourth quarter two point conversion.
After going down early 14 zip Tannehill finds rookie speedster Blake for a 53 yard td strike to jump on the scoreboard in the 2nd. Shortly thereafter the Jets answered with a quick score of their own with 0:02 remaining in the half. The Dolphin defense shut NY down in the third quarter allowing Miami to stay in the ball game. Rookie Jewone Peppers came up huge with a interception on the goal line canceling the Jets best chance to seal the game away to start the fourth. After going back and fourth with the score 21-17 well into the fourth quarter the Jets added a field goal with 1:13 left. With all of our time outs left the Miami Dolphins marched down the field in 7 plays to put the ball in the end zone from 4 yards out. Miller then came up with the clutch two point conversion and the rest is history. GG jwaddy
Two point for the win??? Great finish, big time call
Cards and Vikes Open in Style
If you missed this game, your the only one that lost. This game had it all but at the forefront was great defense. Both QBs struggled but both had their moments in the clutch as well. The game didn't really start until the 4th quarter as both teams were around the 100 total yard mark. Up 17-13 with 2:05 left and facing 1st down around the 20, the Cardinals came out with an aggressive call. A PA roll out with Mettenberger and as he rolled to the right everything was covered. As he tried to throw it away he was hit and lost the ball on a questionable call. The vikings recovered and were in business. The Cards defense forced 4th down and 5 from the 9 yard line and Teddy Bridgewater made the best throw of his career, under pressure and moving backwards, to a wide open receiver to take a 20-17 lead with 40 seconds left. Burger was able to move into FG range thanks to an amazing catch by Jaron Brown.
In OT the Vikings drove down inside the 5 but the Cards were able to get the stop. The Cardinals faced 4th down twice on their next drive and the key conversion was facing 4th and 1 on the Vikes 37. Just outside of the kickers range the Cards decided to go for it. They had been in 3rd and short many times and Ivory was stuffed everytime. So they kept with the rookie, hoping he could get a good look outside. Burrell took the pitch and with the TE sealing his block and the pulling guard grabbing the LB he was able to hit the sidelines and just outran the safety on his way to the endzone for a walk off TD.
Barr was everywhere for the Vikings, while Buchanon was amazing stopping the outside run from his safety position. The defender who impacted the game most though was Daryl Washington, who recorded 2.5 sacks and an Int on a HB screen, in his move to OLB.
Great gsme Big Suge Knight that was a wild, fun, crazy, awesome, phenomenal I'm running out of adjectives game. Gl rest of the year
yeah I figured I had to put up or shut up. Waddy really won I just scored more points, the W counts regardless.
And with the Pats loss Miami is leading the division.
1-0 is hardly leading the division but we will meet this weekend to decide if this team is worthy of the title.
Steelers get first home win vs Chicago
Steelers again rely on Big Ben's arm, throwing for 4 TDs and close to 400 yards. It took a while to get the offense going however, but after the 1st quarter things started clicking on offense. The defense forced 3 INTs en route to victory. Antonio Brown made his fantasy owners happy getting 165 yards and 2 TD. GG PushU2theBrink good luck the rest of the way.
Raiders beat Charters 37-28
Gonna switch up my summaries to try to get rid of the wall of text no one reads.
Story of the Game
Was it bad defense of great offense? Both teams seemed to move the ball with ease, and several young players had coming out parties. Mariota and Hundley are both in "prove it" years and put up big numbers. Two players making their NFL debuts, 49ers HB Javante Barksdale and Titans TE Darius White, both turned in huge performances.
TEN-Mariota: 24/37, 348 Yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, 7 rush, 27 yards, 1 fumble
SF-Hundley: 17/32, 198 Yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 3 Rush, 11 Yards, 1 fumble
SF-HB Barksdale: 15 Carries, 110 Yards, 1 TD, 2 Rec Yards
TEN-TE White: 6 Rec, 118 Yards
It Was over When....
Not until 1:36 left to play in the game. The Titans faced 3rd & 2 and were up 36-31. A first would seal the game while failing would mean giving SF one more chance. In a ballsy playcall, coach The Richuation called a pass and Mariota hit DGB for a 10 yard gain and sealed the deal.
Player of the game
In an offensive game we have to go with a defensive player. DE Brian Orakpo (2 Tackles, 2 SCK) did most of his work early in the game but it was enough to get Hundley uncomfortable early which changed the pace of the game for SF.
Great game The Richuation it was a fun battle.
Lions Take It On Season Opener
Lions definitely showed in this game that they wanna be contenders this year. Lions defense picked off Rodgers two times and on the other side of the ball Matt Stafford threw for 4 tds and there new running back Blue went for 87 yards. Lions win 34-27
Ravens @ Browns
Lucky number 13. For the second consecutive season the Browns hosted their division rival the Baltimore Ravens. For the 13th consecutive time they were attempting to do something in their previous 12 season openers. Win. The game did start like the Browns had hoped quickly going three and out with the Ravens marching down the field for a TD on their ensuing drive. The Ravens would add another 3 points later in the first quarter. The Browns would respond to the three opening the second quarter with a touchdown drive. The play of the drive was a 39 yard hookup of Stone to Barnidge where Gary Barnidge high pointed the ball and then fell over his man to get the Browns inside the 10. Stone would find Josh Gordon on a 5 yard touchdown as the receiver broke his route outside noticing the Ravens had shaded their coverage inside. Momentum seemed to be going in the direction of the home team when a Kolton Stone would stare down fellow rookie Lucas Parks in his route. Morgan Redmond would break on the route quicker than Parks could, cutting in front of the receiver, picking off the pass, and returning it for a touchdown. This would be the last time the Ravens would score anything substantial. The Browns would take the 10 point deficit into halftime hoping their defense could set the tempo opening the second half on the field. That is exactly what they did when a Corey Lemonier strip sack was recovered by Bark Mingo allowing the Browns to start at the Ravens 27. The Browns would find the endzone in two plays with the touchdown coming on a 9 yard hookup of Stone to Jack Doyle. This was no ordinary hookup. Doyle was not even looking at the football. The ball hit him on the top of the shoulder pad, bounced in front of his face where he dove after it and caught the ball coming down with his elbows and knees in front of the back line. The Browns would put together a nice little drive towards the end of the third quarter that would end in the game tying field goal. Struggling to get anything going offensively the Ravens took the field with roughly 9 minutes remaining and Joe Flacco hoping to kick start something for his team. Unfortunately the veteran QB pressed just a little too hard throwing the ball a tad too early where Joe Haden was waiting on it. Haden would take the interception to the house to give the Browns their first lead of the game. for the next couple minutes the two teams would exchange possessions with nothing coming of them. The Ravens would get the ball with a little under 4 minutes remaining in the game and go on a slow methodical drive taking nearly the full clock. The Ravens found themselves inside the 6 yard line with 4 downs, 57 seconds, and all three timeouts at their disposal. First down saw a 5 yard run take them inside the one yard line. Second down would get them a half yard closer. The Ravens would not use their second timeout letting the clock roll. Third down saw the ball fall just inches short of the endzone when Taliaferro just couldn't extend the ball across the plane within the pile. Fourth down came where Flacco would again hand the ball off to Taliaferro with an old fashion HB Lead Dive. Corey Lemonier would scrape across the line and meet Taliaferro in the hole for the game winning stop at the 1!! The Browns would then elect to go ahead and take the safety knowing the Ravens would still need to get into the endzone in five seconds. On the free kick the Ravens return man would call for a fair catch to set up the hail mary pass. Unfortunately for the Ravens, on a free kick the clock starts the moment the ball is kicked and in the hangtime of the kick the clock ran to zeroes ending the ballgame. THE STREAK WAS OVER! THE BROWNS HAD FINALLY WON A SEASON OPENER! The final in Cleveland, Browns 24 Ravens 19. Great game Papa Perry
Panthers handle Pats in Season Opener
In a much anticipated day, with a ring ceremony an many festivities before the game you almost forgot there was a football game to be played against a very solid opponent. New England came into this game looking to play spoiler is the Panthers receiving there Super Bowl rings. Carolina got off to a fast start in the game jumping onto the Patriots 24-3. New England would make a run with a touchdown run from Denard Ronbinson which would then be followed up with Cam Newton being picked off by Donta Hightower. New England would punch it in a couple plays later to pull the score to 24-17. Carolina would regain focus an pull away late to win this game 34-17. Very hard fought game to begin their title defense. The Panthers open the road schedule this weekend when they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills.
Bucs @ Pats
Opening kickoff to Bucs was a fumble. First play for Pats is First career TD for Landon Slater. Bucs next drive Winston picked off on 3rd Down. Next play Robinson screen pass for TD. Bucs next drive 3 & out. Pats 3rd play. Robinson 42 yd TD run.
Pats 21-0 in the first 2:30 of the game. HFA kicked Bucs tail.

FinaL Score - NE 37 - TB 0
Falcons 24 Saints 21
Week 1 saw the Saints travel to the ATL to take on the Falcons. The last 2 times these teams played Matt Ryan, threw a combined 10 picks as the Falcons lost both games. The crowd was rocking. The Falcons came out in the first QTR with jitters once again as Ryan threw 2 early picks. You can see the Saints team on the sidelines thinking the same 'ol Falcons and same old mistakes. During the TV timeout you can see Coach GMONEY15 pulled Ryan to the side to give him a severe tongue lashing and was thinking about bringing Renfree in. He stuck with Ryan and it paid off as he cut down on the picks for the rest of the game to lead the Falcons to a 24-21 win over the shocked Saints. Matt Ryan threw for 174 yards and 1 td after his 2 early picks. Tevin Coleman ran for 118 yards and 2 td's. New TE Julius Thomas didn't disappoint as he had 4 catches for 76 yards and a TD. The much maligned Falcon defense stepped up and had 6 sacks and 1 pick. The defense held Mark Ingram to 23 yards on 13 carries as ATL made that a priority to stop their running game. However not happy with the fact that we gave up over 300 yards passing. Yes the Falcons do have new starters playing different roles this season but NO EXCUSES. We need to do a better job of getting other personnel into the game. We were not quick enough doing that and that starts upstairs with our defensive coordinator. Those issues will be addressed in practice this week.
Next up for the ATL is a trip to Dallas to take on the Cowboys while the Saints take on the NY Giants. gg CaseyW22
Good stuff man. Yeah it was a battle, and Barksdale should be a nice back for you rest of cycle.
The story of this game was the Redskins defense. They only allowed Charles 50 yards rushing throughout the game, forcing KC to the air. The Skins defense gave up about 250 yards passing but had 5 INTS. Last year's ROTY, Hamiliton, had a good game through the air, passing for 300 yards and 3 TD. HB Alfred Morris had a tough day only getting 70 yards on 21 carries and then went out at the end of the game with a partial groin tear. He is expected to miss some time but the jury is still out for how long. This will give rookie Jack Walker his chance at #1. He has put up 2 TDs in the past 2 games and looked really good. Could he breakout against the Cowboys or will the O line continue to struggle? Good Game whoozy11
Raiders move to 2-0 beating Steelers 38-12
This game was very similar to our game last year against the Broncos. We came out very strong and had a two score lead with 9 minutes to go. Some poor play calling on my part let the Broncos right back in the game and we had to clutch up on the last few drives to come up with the win. Our pass rush was sick this game and that was definitely the bright spot. Bortles also had his high in TD passes with 5. A lot of good signs but also some clear weaknesses that we need to improve on.
EAGLES OUT LAST THE CHARGERS
In a defensive battle the eagles managed to choke out the Chargers to a tune of 24-13. The Chargers only managed two field goals with a pick six to register points. On the other side DeMarco Murray was slowed wayyyy down. To help spark the offense Jordan Matthews had another stellar performance nabbing 6 balls for 195 yards and a single TD. Great defensive battle with a few key drops for the Chargers which helped stall drives.
Cards defeat Texans
The Cardinals jumped out early and the shell shocked Texans were never able to get any momentum. The Cards were able to use big plays against an aggressive defense to jump out early and their own defense was able to keep Brees and the Texans offense in check.
Gg BrewBomber HFA was on my side in that one. GL the rest of the year, and thanks for playing last night bud.
Story of the Game
These two division rivals put it all on the line in this one. The story of the 1st half was Russell Wilson's wild inaccuracy, throwing 3 picks, including a pick 6 that lead to a 24-0 lead for SF at halftime. At halftime, Russell must have had some of his magic water cuz the MVP Wilson came out and the Seahawks offense came alive.
It Was over When....
Wilson threw his most costly INT in OT. OLB Derwin Griffin had the read on a corner route and he made an amazing play to go up and get the ball. SF would score on the very next play to seal the win.
Player of the game
We have to go with SF OLB Derwin Griffin here. The guy was all over the field, recording 11 tackles, 2 TFL and the game sealing INT.
Great game Cheez that might have been the best battle between us in all of our contests.
Cowboys can't do anything in a loss to the Falcons.
Falcons win 34-6
Keys to the game. Dallas played like a bunch of 70 overalls on defense. They couldn't complete a pass on third down and couldn't catch anything in traffic. Probably Dez's low 99 CIT that did it. Season over. The End
