    Penn State 29 Ohio 3
HB Curtis Dukes made his first appearance as the Nittany Lions premier running back. Unfortunately for Ohio, this would be a an opening show that will not be forgotten. Dukes would have a monumental day in his debut as the Nittany Lions rolled to a 29-3 victory over the Bobcats. He would rush 23 times for 150 yards and an outstanding 3 touchdowns on the evening. Ohio had nothing for him, nor the running game period. Silas Redd, Penn State's other feature back, rushed for 50 yards on 11 attempts in his short time on the field. QB Kevin Newsome looked good at times, but others seemed nervous. 7 of 13 passing for 143 yards and an interception are not great opening numbers. Luckily for Newsome, apart from Dukes performance, the defense played amazing football to secure the victory. The Nittany Lion D held Ohio to 84 yards total offense with only 7 of those being on the ground. They also forced 2 turnovers on their way to the win. Next week, Penn State travels to Philadelphia to take on rival Temple.

    Stats:
    HB C. Dukes: 23 Carries 150 YDs 3 TDs, 1 Rec 3 YDs
    QB K. Newsome: 7 of 13 143 YDs 0 TDs 1 INT
    LB K. Fortt: 6 Tackles
    FS S. ObengAgyapong: 3 Tkls 1 Interception

After a slow start Texas hammers Wyoming 69-14.

The young Texas secondary has a ton of speed and will knock your helmet off but early in this game they were getting torched due to a complete lack of pass rush which is very suprising with the quality of players we have up front on D.

We made changes early in the second qtr listening closely to assistant coach Joey Russell 11 yr old know it all, we subbed in two new DE's and an OLB, we also changed out the SS and the Texas D responded with a shut out in the second half along with several TO's and a long pick return TD from Freshman CB Fagan who's name also got a huge laugh out of the assistant coach... :D

On O Senior QB Gilbert was fantastic with 4 tds, we also had JR RB Whaley and his new Freshman back up RB go over 100 yds. The young freshman looks very tiny but is so dang fast and quick the cut back lanes were there all day....man in a year or two he is going to be a complete terror for D's to account for and we have an exact replica RSing right now also.

LSU starts SH Year 3 off just right. Last year the coach decided to start Zach Lee in favor of Jordan Jefferson. So far, it looks to be paying off. Lee found Reuben Randle for a 59 yard score in the 1st quarter to start things off. He would find Spencer Ware for a 31 yard score and next drive connected with Kadron Boone on a 49 yard pass. Decent debut for Year 3. Spencer Ware carried 19 times for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jakhari Gore added 8 for 65 yards. Russell Shepard caught 3 balls for 85 yards. The defense played great. Chauncey Aghayere recorded 3 sacks of LSU's 5.

True Freshmen MLB Phillip Robinson picks of a pass in the first quarter. He ended the day with 6 tackles, 1 Int and 1 FR for a TD.
    #14 IOWA: 44
    NORTHERN ILLINOIS: 0
The University of Iowa Hawkeyes got out to a good start shutting out the Huskies 44-0. The defense played very well with stellar performances for all of their freshmen who got their first game jitters out of the way. MLB Phillip Robinson tallied 6 tackles with a interception and fumble return for a TD and gets today's player of the game. Freshmen DE had 5 tackles, with 1 sack and safety. Other True Freshmen DE John Jones had 3 tackles with a sack. DT Jacob Reisen had 5 tackles on the day as well as a sack.
The Hawkeyes offense was a intense ground attack with Senior Brandon Wegher carrying the ball 25 times for 106 yards with 2 TD's. Senior RB Jewel Hampton had 11 carries for 73 yards with 2 TD's as well. True Freshmen QB Chuck Stephens got the start but split time with senior James Vandenberg. Stephens was 3 for 3 with 103 yards passing and 1 TD to Junior TE CJ Fiedorowisc who totaled 92 yards receiving on the day.
The Iowa Hawkeyes (1-0,0-0) will now face rival Iowa State and hope to keep possession of the Cy-Hawk Trophy.

True Freshman MLB Scott Joseph lived up to his hype, finishing with 5 tackles and a FF
    Missouri Tigers: 48
    Utah State Aggies: 7
Columbia, MO- The Missouri Tigers new season started off with a bang, completely manhandling the Utah State Aggies to a final of 48-7. The defense looked shaky at first, allowing Aggie QB Jeff Fischer to mark down the field on their first possession for the score, but after the butterflies settled, the defense buckled down and made the magic happen. Many freshman got to see the field on Saturday, the most notable being starting MLB Scott Joseph, who forced a fumble late in the first quarter that was recovered for a TD and sparked the defense into a fury.

Offensively, the Tigers have some weakness in the offensive line, however first year starter James Franklin dazzled the crowd through the air and on the ground racking up 191 passing yards, 50 rushing yards and 3 TDs in one half of play. Starting RB Kendial Lawrence struggled to get things going early as holes were hard to come by, even against such a weaker D Line. 2nd and 3rd stringers got to see the entire second half of play. QBs Ashton Glaser and Tyler Gabbert looked impressive in their short work, finishing for 5-6 for 52 yards and 2-3 for 29 yards and a TD, respectively. Backup RB Chris Willet went down for 3 weeks with an arm injury so Freshman Rashad Calhoun got to see some face time and impressed with his power running and ability to slide of some tackles.
    Notables:
    • QB James Franklin: 8-15, 191 yards, 2 TD; 5 rushes, 50 yards, 1 TD
    • WR Jaleel Clark: 4 catches, 114 yards, 3 TD
    • MLB Scott Joseph: 5 tackles, 1 FF
    • Utah State QB Jeff Fischer will miss remainder of the season with a broken elbow suffered in the 2nd Quarter

Penn State Takes Care of Temple
    [IMG]
    Penn State 44 Temple 7
The Nittany Lions went into Philadelphia and slapped around Temple. HB Curtis Dukes once again showed that he is an elite back, rushing for 115 yards and 4 TDs on 26 carries. QB Kevin Newsome bounced back from a disappointing week 1 game with authority. He completed 13 of 16 passes for 316 yards and 1 TD in the victory. The Penn State defense held Temple to 190 yards of total offense, only allowing 4 yards on the ground. Penn State DE Stanley led the defense with 4 tackles and 3 sacks on the day. Next week, the Nittany Lions host the pesky Missorui Tigers in Happy Valley.

Tigers show their character in a 28-7 win over Washington.
The Tigers faced off with a much weaker opponent again in the Washington Huskies. The opening kick off was fumbled and returned by LSU for a touchdown that set the crowd off into a buzz. From there, Death Valley was ignited. Zack Lee again threw for 3 touchdowns before being yanked. An old play-maker reemerged today. Russell Shepard brought in 3 balls for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kadron Boone added the other touchdown from Lee. Two bad things surfaced from this game. One, maybe less scary than the other. Jakhari Gore, the back-up running back who shares a pretty decent amout of the carries went down in this game and sources say he will be out for 3-4 weeks. The other issue that came about was the fact that this team's starters are only playing 1 half of football. Will they be sharp for their date with Florida?

Roy Roundtree leads the Wolverines to a big win over Nebraska
Cam Gordon intercepted a wide receiver screen and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown less than :90 into the game and Michigan never looked back. Quarterback Devin Gardner connected with Roy Roundtree twice in the first quarter for 40- and 41-yard touchdowns to push Michigan's lead to 21-0 at the end of the first. Brendan Gibbons kicked a 46-yard field goal and Fitzgerald Toussaint punched in Michigan's final touchdown of the game to make the halftime score 31-0. Dontrayevous Robinson kept Nebraska from being shutout with a 4-yard score in the third for a 31-7 final score.

Missouri topples 17th Ranked Clemson in the "Tiger Bowl"

TE Noah Dobzinski celebrates after hauling in the first TD pass of his career

    #17 Clemson: 21
    Missouri : 41
Columbia, MO - The Missouri Offense looks to be rolling on all cylinders now after putting a solid beating to the Clemson Tigers at home. First year starting QB James Franklin looked impressive in his 3 quarters of play, going 21-34 for 378 yards and 4 TDs, while adding another 78 yards on the ground. Kendial Lawrence had another tough day, getting only 54 yards on 21 carries. The speedy WR TJ Moe led the team with 6 receptions for 118 yards and a TD.
With starting TE Aaron Williams going down on the opening kickoff, backup Noah Dobzinski stepped it up a level, bringing in 3 catches for 57 yards and a TD. The 6'8" Senior (Juco recruit) wowed the critics who thought he was too brick handed to haul in a catch this early in the season.
Missouri still looks unorganized on defense and the inexperienced secondary gave up a big play more than once. Clemson Tiger QB Kyle Parker threw for 287 yards and a TD on the day, which came by way of a 77 yard bomb late in the 2nd quarter. Missouri was able to hold the Tigers to only 74 yards rushing and shut out the offense in the second half.

Next week, the Tigers (2-0) travel to Happy Valley to take on Coach Cimmy 24 and the Penn State Nittany Lionesses (2-0).

Great win Mr. Hack. I see that Kyle Parker didn't go complete Heisman candidate on you. I was not far off on my prediction about Dobzinski though. LOL. I think I see the problem though. His hands are taped like he just got done with a twelve round fight. Take the tape off and let him go "Au naturel" or give him a set of stickies. Never know, could up his production. He will be a tough cookie to defend in a few weeks if he continues to play well.

The Tide Hold on by a Thread!

The Alabama Crimson Tide were able to withstand a second half rally from the defending National Champs to hold on for a 6 point win. The first half ways all Bama, as they would take a 14-0 lead at the half after some costly Buckeye turnovers. The second half however was totallly different. The Buckeyes would get a quick score on their very first play from scrimmage on an 83yd pass and catch from M. Robertson to J. Loius and just like that, the lead was cut to seven. The Tide would answer right back with with a long scoring play of their own as A. McCarron would find a slanting M. Bowman across the middle and he would do the rest, taking it 89 yds for the score. Bama was back up by 14 still 6:28 remaining in the qtr. The turning point of the game would have to be the safety surrendered by Ohio St. The Tide were felling the pressure and needed a big play and the defense provided them with just that. The win gives Bama 2 on the season with zero loses.

    Final Score:

    Alabama: 30

    Ohio St: 24

    Great Game RyTy!!

LSU takes care of SEC conference foe Mississippi State 34-13. Zach Lee had his way with the Bulldog defense going 19-31 for 301 yards and 4 touchdowns. Spencer Ware led the rushing attack again without injured back-up Jakhari Gore. Ware carried 22 times for 81 yards. Russell Shepard had another 100 yard game going for 150 yards on 7 catches with 2 touchdowns. Shepard has caught on fire since hearing all the talk about Reuben Randle and other receivers. The biggest story of the day was Jabari Brown. Some might remember him from 2010's recruiting class as he was one of our :5stars: commits. Brown recorded his career high 3 sacks on the day as he was ferocious on the field. The Tigers have 1 more game before a bye. They then meet up with SEC opponents in Florida & Kentucky. 2 games that should be the deciding factor in how this year goes.
