I'm not a fan of custom books. Everything is out of order and I have had more problems with the EA servers when using them. None of that is scientific of course. NT'S book has the diversity I've been looking for.

Wow. The opposite of that is exactly my #1 reason why I LOVE CPBs so much. Even if I wanted to use a base PB, I'd make a copy of it as a CPB specifically so I could order my formations/plays exactly how I want. All of my formations are in the order I chose from top to bottom and every play in each formation is in my own order. That's what allows me to call my plays so quickly, even while no huddling. On offense, every single one of my 27 formations is ordered like this from top to bottom, left to right:
    • options
    • designed HB runs (counters -> sweeps -> between the tackles)
    • designed QB runs
    • designed WR runs
    • PA passes
    • screens
    • short passes
    • medium passes
    • deep passes
It doesn't matter which formation I'm in, I know exactly where certain play types are. Default PBs drive me crazy as there is absolutely no discernible order to the plays. The same goes for defense. Every formation in my CPB (which isn't much more than the default 3-4 pb except all of my plays are where I expect them to be) goes like this:
    • cover 2 zone blitzes
    • cover 3 zone blitzes
    • cover 2 thru cover 6
    • cover 2 man
    • cover 1 man
    • cover 1 man blitzes
    • cover 0 man blitzes
Whether on O or D I can scroll to and call any play I want in 5s the vast majority of the time. I would never be able to do this with a default PB since there is no real order (and that's with a 27 formation, 370 play offensive pb). The only thing that isn't in order is the formation groupings (IE. ace/I/SG/Pistol) but obviously on O that's not an issue for me since I only have SG. But on D, my formation grouping include 3-4/nickle/dollar/dime/quarters/goal line but it doesn't bother me at all that they're not in whatever the default order is because every 3-4 formation is in my order and every play in every formation is in my own order.
