Miami Downs Atlanta 31-17 (I think) In game dominated by awful backup QBs Miami mustard up enough offense to win 31-17. All I know is I feel sorry for those that face teh Falcons WR corps, it is good.
Start it up! Falcons suck, Falcons suck!
Cam debut in Steel City, 1-1 passing for 19 yards, rushed for 9 yards and took 3 sacks.
Lions back up Allen Barber was pretty impressive on 15/26 passing for 200 yards TD but threw 3 INTs
Stafford completed 2 of 4 passes.
Jonathan Dwyer ran the ball 11 times for 137 yards and found paydirt 3 times. Chris Rainey had 6 touches for 55 yards and a TD.
WR that stood out was Blair Scott for the Lions as he caught 2 balls, one being a TD.
2nd year LB Bryan Latta for Pittsburgh led both teams with 8 tackles.
Rookie Terrance Sahanas had two tackles and two interceptions for the Steelers.
Good game BigSmooth33 and happy birthday! good luck the rest of the year
Heavy rain made this a tough game for the offenses who were both hoping to test out their new high profile WR toys in Larry Fitzgerald and Roddy White. Carson Palmer would go just 1 for 9 and Jordan Mapa was 2 for 6. However, all of those completions did go to Fitz and White. Once the backups got in, it was all about the Jags defense and their rookie WRs. 2nd Round Pick Domico Patterson and 6th Round Pick Alex Anderson combined for 7 receptions, 196 yards, and 2 TDs. Meanwhile, the Raiders only managed 202 yards of offense for the game and were unable to get a TD despite some opportunites.
In a game in which both teams seemed to sputter at times, both teams also had some fireworks towards the end to make it a barn burner ... The first quarter saw the Vikings drive down the field on their opening series led by their new arrival Tony Romo to put the first seven points on the board .. he would then exit the game at the end of the 1st quarter finishing 6 for 6 for 89 yds ... in the first half, Tennessee would often times get in the Minnesota red zone but would find it difficult to penetrate the end zone and settled for FG after FG ... As back up players and rookies started to find their way into the second half of the game, things started to slow down as neither team could really muster a solid drive ... we saw a lot of dropped passes and missed assignments however the Tennessee Titans would eventually get it together ... 7th round draft pick Miles Quaglieri out of UNLV would finally throw a strike to fellow rookie Billy Watkins for a 76 yd td ... with just over a minute left in the game it looked as if Minnesota might try to run out the clock however their first play from scrimmage ended up in a 10yd rush and they decided to go into hurry up mode ... last year's starting qb Christian Ponder would lead the backups down the field as he would convert on some key passes and set the team up in FG range with 3 ticks left on the clock ... second year Kicker Blair Walsh came onto the field and punched the ball through the uprights stealing a win from the inspired Tennessee Titans ... gg thebouncer24
Texans win first preseason game!
Rivers came out in this game and had one flawless drive. He ended up finishing off the drive with a 2 yard td pass to Daniels. Cushing had 2 tackles and 2 INTs. Ben Tate did average in his first game back as a Texan only running for 19 yards. Big key plays in the fourth quarter were made by rookie Even Pongi as he would throw to Danny Amendola for a 11 yard game winning TD with 5 ticks left on the clock. He also had one rush for 15 yards.
