Seattle fights through Week 1 against the St. Louis Rams, but not without major questions created. Free Agent QB Josh Freeman got his first start as a Seahawk but didnt end the game. After three quarters, Freeman went 10/22 for 131 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs. On the third INT, St. Louis took the lead. With that development, Russell Wilson was brought in and finished the game with 2 TDs. In what was supposed to be the first game of a successful playoff march, the Seahawks now have major questions around their offense.

    Player of the Game:
WR Braylon Edwards - 4 rec, 129 yards, 2 TDs

    Texans 31 Bears 17

If there was one thing people should of learned from this game , it's that Houston Wideout Andre Johnson is not slowing down with age . Johnson had a breakout gameSnagging 6 balls for 124 yards and 3 tds. After the game his QB compared him to wine. " He's like a fine wine that only gets better with time" -Ryan McNeilly

The other story of this game was the Texans defense who shut down the Bears offense most Of the afternoon, allowing only 133 total yards. Daniel Manning led the team with 5 tackles and alsoReturned a punt for the teams first score of the season. Texans face the Patriots next sunday which looks To be a good match up

    Panthers 35
    Giants 13

In a rematch from the NFC Championship game, last years Super Bowl team got it done again 35-13. This Panthers team looked a lot different this season with no Steve Smith, but Cam Newton looks to have found new favorite targets that can make plays just as Smith did. The Giants converted two big 3rd downs with passes to Nicks and started the game off up 3-0. The Panthers would respond as Cam Newton would find Greg Olsen in the end zone for a 7-3 lead. After forcing a punt, Newton would take it in on an option from 5 yards out and a 14-3 lead. The Giants would add another field goal but Cam would drive his team down the field and find 5th round pick, rookie wide receiver Brendon Martin for a touchdown pass, his first of 2 touchdown receptions on the day. The Giants though would respond on a touchdown pass to Victor Cruz to cut the lead to 21-13 going into the half. The Panthers would score 2 straight touchdowns, one a run by Mike Tolbert and the other another pass to Brendon Martin for a 35-13 lead. From the point, the Panthers would run out the clock and bring home a big home win. The Rookie WR duo for the Panthers, McCants ended up with 83 yards and Martin ended up with 77 and those two touchdowns. Cam Newton was 14-19 for 283 yards and 3 touchdowns, and also rushed for a touchdown. It's been said the Panthers are trying to sign him ASAP to a long contract, but with Newton wanting 16 million a year, it may be tough. Chris Gamble was signed to a deal after the game, which looked to be an expensive deal, but after the season he had last year, he deserved it.

Raiders blow a 28-3 lead and give up 21 points in the fourth. The Chiefs capitalized off 4 INT's thrown by the rookie QB of the Raiders. Carter did look good but his lack of respect for the KC secondary proved costly. Kansas City wins a bullshitter 31-28. GG GeneralCarter , enjoy this one.

    Lions Pick 49ers Apart 37-14

    130979309_display_image.jpg

The Lions open the season at home versus Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers. After two straight losses in the divisional playoffs, the Lions are on a mission this year. The first half was all Detroit, as the Lions attempted to establish the running game. The 49ers defense stood tall and forced 3 FGs, while only allowing one TD (rushing) in the first two quarters.

The San Francisco offense didn't score until the second half, with two TD passes from Kaepernick. Unfortunately, Colin's 5 INT's left no doubt to the outcome of this game. CB Chris Houston benefited from two of the picks, and was crowned player of the game.

An almost perfect passer rating from Stafford, with 3 TD passes and only 211 yards. Jahvid Best shined with 112 yards on 17 carries to closeout the first game of the season.

He wasn't, those were all bad throws on my part, the Hali pick especially, outside the 4th Carter was 2-1 275yds+ .... not a bad day at all. It wasn't a focused effort on my part you actually got a treat this go-round. Hopefully we'll get a quality match-up in Oakland good luck till then. PS keep Charles away from running straight towards that sideline ;)

I probably should have put Smith in for Kap but my defense wasn't able to contain the Lions offense, so I just left him in to get some experience.

    Packers win in Minnesota

    Capture.PNG

    NOTE: CPU GAME!

2014 season started with the Pack kicking off to the home Minnesota Vikings. Clay Matthews on Special Teams coverage, Hit stick the shit out of Percy Harvin, causing a fumble that was recovered by Gary Brackett. On the first offensive play, Forte would run it in on a 19 yards counter play to the left. Green Bay would stop The Vikings, get the ball back, and drive for another score. 14 - 0 Pack. The Vikings would benefit from a lil "Computer Love" as Madden would step in to stop the bleeding. They reeled off 17 unanswered, and led midway through the 2nd. Coach CT called EA up and demanded a stop to the the shenanigans, and they obliged. Back to business as usual...Aaron Rodgers would hook up with Cobb, and Jennings for two huge catch and run plays, both ending up in the end zone to give the Pack a 28-17 halftime lead. The Vikings and Bell would pick Rodgers in the 3rd, and settle for a field goal. 28 0 20 Pack. The Vikings D held Green Bay scoreless in the third, but could not contain Forte and the rest of the O in the 4th. The Pack drove at will on the Vikings D, adding 17 points to convincingly seal the deal, no majestic Madden comeback today homie....Would have much rather played RyanC but he couldn't run, hope to see him game 2 in Green Bay...

    Stand Outs

    Aaron Rodgers | 17/34 381 yards, 4 TDS, 3 INTS, Rating 93.4
    Matt Forte |17 ATT, 90 yards, 5.3 AVG, 2 TDS, 3 Rec, 12 yards, 0 drops
    JerMichael Finley | 7 Rec, 153 yards, 1 TD, 0 drops

Gonzales had one catch, which was for a TD. Finley was unstoppable, so we kept feeding him the ball. The Pack's D forced 4 turnovers also...

William Gay (4 Tackles, 1 INT) and Rashad Jones (8 solo tackles) showed why Coach CT went after them in Free Agency, they were the standouts defensively, along with Matthews who had 3tackles, 1 sack, and 1 FF.

Vikings QB Bell has potential, but he overthrew receivers all game, most looking like intentional grounding, as he threw the ball 10 yards out of bounds while in the pocket.

    Week 2: Texans 30 Patriots 7

There's alot of games future hall of famer Tom Brady will remember the rest of his life.
This game was not one. The Texans D harrassed Brady all day. Sacking him 6 times,
Texans defensive end JJ Watt said after the game. " He's gonna feel it tomorrow ".
Watt recorded 3 of the tallied sacks on Brady. Brady also was picked off 6 times (career high)

But interceptions and sacks don't score touchdowns, but they do help.
2nd year Qb Ryan McNeilly had a solid game tossing 3 tds, and racking up
237 yards threw the air and finished with a qb rating of 144.2 . Andre Johnson
Also continued to be a down field threat catching 3 balls for 94 yards and 2 tds
Bringing his total on the year up to 5 in just two games. Arian Foster was able to add
101 yards on the ground but did not find the endzone in this one. Lets not forget to mention
Rookie wide reciever Ravonne Winters who also caught just 3 passes but was
Able to get in the endzone and finish the day with 97 yards

Next up for Houston a divisional game at Tennessee.

New look Browns win home opener, Flynn steps up

Browns fans couldn't have asked for more Sunday as the Browns pulled out a close one in front of a sold out crowd. The first home game under the new regime, the team and certain key players were looking to make a good impression and didn't disappoint. With two stout defenses and a 12mph crosswind, both team got off to a slow start, until Flynn threw a deep int on Cleveland's second drive. This lead to a methodical drive by the raiders which was capped off by a short Beenie Wells TD run. The Browns offense returned to the field on the next drive undeterred and capped off a drive with an 11 yard Anquan Boldin TD catch. The stalemate continued until Coach Cam opened up the passing game and Flynn and Greg Little were able to hook up on a 20 yard TD catch towards the end of the 2nd quarter. 3rd quarter play began with defensive play on both sides of the ball. After consecutive 3 and outs by both squads, Oakland amassed a long TD drive capped off by a beautiful fake FB hand off/pitch to McFadden for a 2yd score. In the 4th quarter with the game tied up the Raiders took a shot at a long FG for the lead, but veered left due to the heavy crosswind. With 3 min and change left, Flynn and the offense were able to get into FG range for Garrett Hartley to make the 27 yard game winner with about 40 seconds remaining. Terry Carter tried to make a bid for his first comeback of his young career, but was intercepted by Joe Haden on an overthrow. After the game Matt Flynn was excited about his 17-32, 202 yds 2 TD 1 INT performance. "It felt good to step it up a notch this week and get my first home win in the Dogg Pound. I wasn't happy with how I played last week, but understand that when we play as a team we can pick each other up."

Epic Battle in the Music City

    Lions 35
    Titans 28

    hi-res-129024838_crop_exact.jpg

The Tennessee Titans hosted the Detroit Lions in what turned out to be a very close contest. Early on both teams quickly scored on their first possessions, with efficient drives. The Lions primary goal was to contain Chris Johnson, run blitzing heavy and often. It worked to some degree, holding CJ2K to 60 yards on 14 attempts. But Jake Locker took quick advantage, and used playaction very effectively for some big plays.

At halftime the Lions were up 14 points (21-7), but some great coverage D by the Titans secondary allowed them to quickly turn this around. 14 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter, and another quick score in at the beginning of the 4th, and it was the Lions trailing by 7. A great draw play from Leshoure, who had 69 yards on 9 attempts, put the Lions in a position to tie the game. The Lions defense turned up the heat, and Louis Delmas grabbed one of his 2 INTs on the day. 2 Tds later, and ahead by 7 with not much time on the clock, the Titans drove down the field looking to take the game into overtime. However, this series Coach Harris decided to play it safe and drop 8 into coverage. A bad throw by Locker ended up in the hands of LB Levy, and a kneel down ended the battle.

Player of the Game: FS Louis Delmas 2 INTs

Very unfortunate that this has to be a CPU game, because these games between the division rivals are usually extreme close and extremely close. THe Dolphins won both match-ups last year by a combined 4 points. The BIlls were able to pick up a win and are now tied at the top of the AFC East with the Pats who they will play in week 3. New QB Weeden was able to control the game for the most part in the first half but made a few mistakes late. Bills WR Stevie Johnson had a huge day racking up a TD with 8 catches and 175 yards. Mario Williams also had a huge day not only getting his first sack of the season but ended the game with 4 huge sacks.

An old fashion shotout with -Cougars-. naw not really it was some defense but a lot of big plays. One kick return.

After a 0/3 start Mark Mallett got benched again for Ricky Stanzi lol.

Highlights and crucial last two drives.

    redskins 7 rams 49
the rams came out firing on all cylinders. rg3 was having a rough day as well as the washingotn rushing game, getting off to a slow start and having a hard time getting anything to go their way. kevin smith and jason snelling were able to carry the team on their backs, rushing for 244 combined yards and 3 tds for the rams. the rams were also able to force 5 turnovers on their way to victory. the redskins only score came about a minute before half time when sam bradford stepped up and threw a pic and gave the redskins a chance to score. the very next play was a short pass and a missed tackle that went for 7. the rams (mostly) second string were able to keep their foots on the gas and get a good home win, one that should inspire the team and show them they can actually play some ball.

    Eagles Keep on Rollin'
    S3W3.JPG

The Eagles are winners of 8 straight football games dating back to last year. This team looks focused and prepared for whatever obstacle lands in their way. The Packers got up early with a 65 yard pass from Rodgers to Hernandez, but there wasn't much to cheer about after that. Rookie QB Blane Giles continues to impress throwing for a career high 4 TD passes for the Eagles. Two of them to DeSean Jackson. One of the more controversial plays came right before halftime with the Eagles up 24 - 14, RB LeSean McCoy broke free on a 12-yard TD run and just after crossing the goalline a Packers DB tackled him late partially tearing his MCL. McCoy will be out at least 12 weeks.
Overall I am very pleased with the way our team has come out to start the year. We're finally playing up to our full potential. After Shady went down before halftime the team really stepped up and got the W for him. We knew Rookie RB Santez McKenzie would half to step it up and he did rushing for a TD in the 2nd half. He'll have to continue that for weeks to come, but that's why we drafted him in the 2nd round. The season is young, but I am very excited to be apart of this team. The sky's the limit for us.
Gameball: Nickel Corner G. Toler and Dime Corner B. Boykin - 2 INT's each

Panthers controlled most of the game and Cam Newton had another big day going 10-12 for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns and did not throw a single pass in the 2nd half. Panthers move on to 3-0 on the season.
