800 yards?!? What the fuck, seriously, that's beyond stupid unless that game was within one score for the entire time. 500-600 yards is crazy good offense, 800+ yards is full blown stat whoring. Sorry but that's just how it seems to me.
Virginia Tech Ekes by Wolfpack defeat NC State 31-28 It wasn't pretty, but Virginia Tech snapped its two game losing streak by defeating the NC State Wolfpack in Raleigh. VTech had a 21-7 third quarter lead, but a furious rally by NC State tied the game at 21 early in the fourth. Just then, Gemara Anderson scored his fourth TD of the game on a 66 yard TD run to give the Hokies an apparently back-breaking 28-21 lead. Nevertheless, the Wolfpack were relentless and tied the game again with just under three minutes to play. Not panicked, VTech calmly marched the ball down the field before settling for a 22 yard FG to win the game. Player of the Game: Gemara Anderson - 20 car, 260 yards, 4 TDs...and yes, I needed all his yards to win the game.
The Tiger faithful are starting to gain hope for HC Eric Taylor. They were out in full support as #1 Notre Dame was in town. After a ND punt, Clemson pushed the ball in for a 1 yard TD run by FB Wade. ND's QB Fountain would throw his first pick, leading to a HB Cooper 6 yard TD and an early 14-0 lead. Fountain would comeback to throw a 16 yard TD to WR Brown. But Clemson would move the ball down-field and kick a FG before the half. From then on, it was mostly a defensive battle. Clemson got all the way to the ND 15, but QB Kelly would throw his second pick of the season in the endzone. The drive did use up most of the third quarter. Fountain would again throw an interception, this time leading to a Clemson FG in the 4th. Fountain would end the game with 2 more interceptions, giving Clemson it's third victory of the season against top 5 teams. Hokies Double Down top Georgia Tech on the road Georgia Tech dominated throughout, especially the first half, but settled for field goals. The inability of the Yellow Jackets to score touchdowns came back to haunt them in the second half. With Virginia Tech trailing 9-0 late in the third quarter, Coach Boom made the decision to go for two after HB Gemara Anderson's TD in order to make it a one-point game. With a successful conversion, the Hokies trailed 9-8 which meant that when Georgia Tech scored a touchdown to end the third quarter, the Hokies were still within one possession of tying the game. Indeed, the Hokies would score late in the fourth to bring the game within two and a successful conversion tied the game at 16. The Georgia Tech offense sputtered on the ensuing possession, allowing Virginia Tech to drive down the field and steal the game on a 34 yard TD run by QB Matt Jackson. The victory wasn't without loss, however, as Anderson torn a pectoral muscle on the final drive that will keep him out of action for six weeks. Meeting for Hokies Workmanlike in 28-3 victory over Blue Devils It was the first game After Anderson for the Hokies, and while the offense overpowered the Blue Devils, the going was tough. Luis Robinson, finally the feature back for the Hokies, labored for his 105 yards on 24 carries. Nevertheless, Robinson found paydirt three times in the game which proved to be the difference. The Hokies defense was dominant, holding Duke to 79 yards of total offense and only 4 first downs. In all seriousness, I think if/when I get fired I'm probably done. If I keep my job I'll stick around to play with the guys I've recruited, but that's about all the interest I have. I need there to be some semblance of rules and guidelines that guys will actually follow to enjoy this game. Where we are now doesn't fit that. To be honest, initially I liked the coaching xp/skill tree thing, but it's obviously just caused some to go off the wall with running up numbers for the sake of getting a leg up in xp since there is a tangible benefit to doing so, as Kapono was talking about the other day. LSU 39 FSU 38 The tigers stun the football world after Coach Dru returns from his Vegas bender to take back the coaching duties from Asst Coach CPU. The game started out really well for LSU as fsu would throw an interception on their first two drives, leading to a 10-0 Tiger lead. The teams would exchange TDs for a 24-14 halftime lead for LSU. With the Tigers getting the 2nd half kickoff things would have been bleak but the Seminole defense came up huge with a pick 6 and another INT to tie the score early in the 3rd at 24. The game would come down to the final minute with LSU down 39-38, where QB JJ Meyer found one of his WRs open from 40 yards out down the middle of the field vs what looked like cover 2 for a potential tying score. But Coach Dru had plans for the night and eschewed OT for a 2 pt conversion for a 1 pt lead with 24 seconds to play. FSU was able to get to around the 50 but ultimately failed on a Hail Mary as time expired. Good game Kapono.

LSU 34 Bama 31 The tigers win on a Hail Mary with no time remaining in classic EA fashion - with a WR quadruple covered but where all the DBS stood there and failed to react to the ball. I'd say good game recchem2000 but we both got hosed by the "if it's in the game...." Ea magic in this one.
GG Dru. I had a bad feeling on that Hail Mary. But with all the other stuff in that game (backwards option pitch called an incomplete pass, my TE turning into Earl Campbell and trucking 3 of your defenders) it felt like a fitting ending.
I have never recorded a game, but the 4th quarter of that one could have been an add for how unrealistic this game can be at times. You couldn't have made up some of the stuff that was happening. The backwards pitch....er.....incomplete pass was possible the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in a game of NCAA.

Clemson clinches Atlantic After a sudden loss to Maimi, Clemson had to win out it's conference games to secure a spot in the championship game. Both offenses were clicking early in this one. HB Cooper scored on the Tigers opening drive on a 31 yard TD run. FSU responded with a wide open WR Bracy for a 21 yard TD. Cooper would again score for the Tigers from 10 yards. Clemson would get a key 3-n-out, as there was not much defense played in this one. First play of the new drive, a 79 yard TD to WR Wilson. FSU QB Coker threw a nice fade route to WR Jacobs, who hauled it in for 6. Clemson tacked on a FG after missing getting into the endzone by 2 yards, making it 24-14 Tigers at half. FSU started the half with a TD run by HB Vaughn from 12 to make in a one score game. Clemson extended the lead with a TD pass to TE Yates. Then, an interception was finally made. After FSU dropped 3 interceptions with their user LB, it was Clemson who make the first turnover. It would lead to a FG. After forcing a punt, Clemson got the ball right back with 1 second left in the third. Knowing that not much time could be killed in 1 second, Kelly went PA and hit TE Vinson, who outran the defense for a backbreaking 80 yard TD. That play basically sealed the win. Texas A&M - 27 Alabama - 28 The Tide ruin bringbackjimmy chance (for now) for a possible NC appearance, coming back from a 13 point 4th quarter deficit to stun the Aggies by a point. Alabama trailed all game, getting gashed by the shotgun run game of the Aggies. Williams went over 100 yards on just 15 carries and Johnny Freakin Football took an option play 60 yards to give the Aggies a 14-0 lead after one quarter. Jump to the 4th quarter. A&M settled for a 47 yard field goal on 4th and 1 early in the 4th to give them a 13 point lead. Alabama came right back, scoring on their second consecutive 2 play drive. QB Morris would hit WR Barrineau on a 23 yard pass to make it a 6 point game with 6 minutes to play. Texas A&M would get the ball and pick up a few first downs. However on 3rd and 10 from about mid-field, Johnny Football would be hit right as he threw the ball, forcing the first Aggie punt of the day. Alabama would take its time, marching down the field using mostly its run game. With 12 seconds to play, HB Derrick Henry (playing for an injured TJ Yeldon) would pound it in from a yard out to give the Tide their first lead of the day. Johnny Football would then throw it up to WR Evans hoping for a miracle but the pass was picked off by the Alabama defense. GG BBJ. You had me and let me off the ropes a bit I think. QB Alec Morris 13/24, 210 Yards, 1 TD, 5 INT, 1 Fumble! 6 turnovers were not enough for the Tigers to overcome TJ Yeldon and company as the Senior, playing his final home game, rushed the ball 19 times for 134 yards and 4 TD's. Should of gave it to him 40 times and passed 4 but im trying to get better at passing. Got my first user LB pick in this one! Old man skills Now we wait for the SEC West mess to clear up and see what bowl game we play in. Lots of returning starters next year but Yeldon will be very much missed!
FSU 38 Florida 27 Florida threw 2 interceptions to Matthew Thomas on their first 3 plays, setting up FSU for scores as they raced to a 21-0 lead and a 31-10 halftime lead. Coker only had to throw 9 passes and Mario Pender did a lot of damage on the ground. That improves us to 8-4, but beating UF is a big goal each year.
