ACC Conference Championship Virginia 45 Clemson 3The ACC Championship game pretty much went exactly the opposite of what people expected. Clemson entered the game with a very impressive 11-1 record and was ranked #2 in the nation. Meanwhile, Virginia was 7-5, was very inconsistent; the offense has a tendency to turn the ball over and the defense plays soft. Clemson took the ball at kickoff and drove the field, but kicked a field goal after Virginia stopped them on 4th and short at the 15 yard line. As it turned out, that was the high point of the evening for the Tigers. The Cavs methodically drove the ball down the field and capped the drive with the first of three TD runs for HB Cody Ernst. The offense was very balanced for the Cavs, gaining 224 passing yards and 193 rushing yards. Meanwhile, the defense was able to intercept Clemson QB CKelly five times as the Tigers struggled to get their ground game going (-6 rushing yards). Coach MexiRican35 was as shocked as anyone, but took it in stride. Clemson next faces Ole Miss in their bowl game while Virginia will play Temple.
FSU 37 Arizona 17 We settled on 3 FGs and threw 2 picks as well as muffing a punt inside the 20. The running game wasn't too special, but Kelvin Benjamin was great catching balls and the defense played well against the pass. QB Jacob Coker - 20-28 for 261 yards, 2 TD, INT, rush TD HB Mario Pender - 15 carries for 49 yards, TD HB Michael Vaughn - 9 carries for 73 yards WR Kelvin Benjamin - 9 receptions for 166 yards, 2 TD
