G-Men Rookies Show Up, Blank EaglesThe Giants Rookies Played Important Roles in the Giants 38-0 Victory Over Rival Philly It was no contest. The Giants are ready to rebound after a disappointing season 2. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they got the initial statement. It was not the game in which a new offense and defense was going to get its first look in action. The two teams were night and day. The Giants managed 459 YDs of offense, while the Eagles only gained 179. New York forced 5 turnovers, while the Eagles got 1. New York's Rookie class played phenomenal. Highlighted by HB Ja'Mario Ward, the new members of the Giants made their case that they are here to play football for this team. First round pick Ja'Mario Ward came out firing with 220 YDs and 2 TDs on just 16 carries, which included an 84 yard TD run. Eli Manning had a solid day as he was 8 of 11 for 227 YDs and 2 TDs, despite the 1 interception. Victor Cruz (3 Recs 105 YDs 1 TD) and Rueben Randle (3 Recs 97 YDs 1 TD) highlighted the receiving game for Big Blue. On defense, the rooks continued to show their worth. OLB Keifer Carter who is starting due to an injury to Jacquin Williams, led the team with 8 tackles, 2 of which were behind the LOS. MLB Verley Orr picked off a Matt Schaub pass that sealed the game in the 4th, making an outstanding play. Finally, S Jordan McCoy played well defensively against the pass, but it was his 47 yard fumble recovery for a TD that sparked the rout. CB Prince Amukamara took over the #1 CB role very well, with 2 interceptions on the day. Next up for the Giants, a trip down 95 to the city of Baltimore to face the AFC North Ravens.
Lions Post Costly Win 24-17 Over Arizona - Lose Stafford to IR Detroit, MI - Ford Field Detroit battled back from an early 10-0 deficit to knock off the visiting Arizona Cardinals 24-17. The game started off very poorly for the Lions, as the Cards shoved the ball down the Lions throats, starting with a 54 yard TD run by Ryan Williams. The Lions quickly returned the ball to Arizona who drove the field again and settled for a field goal. Noting the Cards ability to move the ball on the Lions soft defensive scheme, D-Coordinator Gunther Cunningham started to dial up the man blitz packages to try to thwart the Cardinals attack. The change in scheme shut down Kurt Warner and the Card passing attack, sacking him twice, forcing an interception, and holding him to only 5/14 passing for 68 yards. Offensively, the Lions were very dynamic. Stafford connected on 17/24 passing attempts for 221 yards and a long TD to Calvin Johnson, who broke free after a short curl in the first half. Jahvid Best and rookie Ryan Landry both got into the end zone on the ground, and Best carried the load, 12 carries for 79 yards. Player of the game was Calvin Johnson, who hauled in 7 balls for 106 yards and the lone TD. 7 different receivers caught the ball this last Sunday. Stafford was lost late in the game on a hit after a playaction pass which was thrown away. Doctors deemed the injury to be a fractured elbow. Stafford will be placed on season ending IR shortly. Tell tale stat of the game: Detroit 3rd down conversion rate = 69% Arizona = 33% Good game NeuroticTruth.
I wish he would have been injured before his 22 yard scamper on 3rd and 19 in which he broke two tackles (one that should have been a sack).
The Champs* Are BackJags Defeat Titans 24-17 In Ugly Affair Jacksonville, FL - The newly appointed Superbowl champions after the Packers being disqualified took to the field to open their title defense against their hated rivals, the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars were able to jump on the Titans early to give them the quick advantage. The Titans got the ball first but were forced to punt. The Jags were able to score on their first possession as Justin Blackmon brought in a pass from QB Jordan Mapa for a big play. On the Titans' next possession, Jake Locker would throw an INT to OLB Daryl Smith. A few plays later, Mapa would connect with newly acquired Larry Fitzgerald for his first TD reception as a Jaguar. Jacksonville was able to add a FG on their next possession to have a 17-0 lead. After that though, the Titans would battle back. Javon Ringer would start to get going on the ground some and Locker would start to find some holes in the Jaguars pass coverage. Defensively, the Titans really started to shut down the Jags passing attack. Despite the hot start for Mapa, he would finish at just 6 for for 15. Fortunately for the Jags, the passes that did work turned into big plays and TDs. The Titans would close the game to 17-14 in the 3rd quarter, but a big pass play to Blackmon in traffic would end up going the distance to push it back out to 24-14 and the Titans were never able to close that gap. The Jags were able to hang on for a 24-17 win and their first 1-0 start in HK this release.
Texans Knock Off Minnesota
This game would be a hard fought and the Texans would prove to be tougher. The first score would be on a solid drive by Phillip Rivers and it would be finished off with 38-yard TD pass to Eddie Bartholomew. The Texans would add to their lead in the second quarter with yet another strong drive this time the drive would be capped off with an 18-yard Foster TD run. The Vikings would have a chance to get points on the board but with less than 45 seconds on the clock, Adrian Peterson would fumble and Cushing would recover it . 14-0 Houston Texans at halftime. In the second half Minnesota would be forced to kick a 18-yard FG because the Texans made a goal line stand. This would prove to be big. In the fourth quarter, Peterson would make up for his fumble with a 7-yard TD run. They would attempt the two-point conversion they would get it but it would be called back because of a holding penalty. They would try again but last year’s team leader in INTs Kareem Jackson would pick it off. The Minnesota D would not be able to make a key stop to get the ball back and the Texans would run out the clock.
Final Score: 14 9Team Stats:
@ 20-37 Oakland Offense starting The Season Off With A Bang! The Oakland Raiders offense could do know wrong as Carson Palmer would go 13/21 for 220 yds 3 TD's and 0 INT's despite having more then a few errant throws hitting Carolina defenders in the hands, Mike Goodson would almost reach his total for rushing yards last season in his 1st game with 18 carries for 143 yds and 1 TD. Roddy White would have a solid debut in a Raiders uniform with 4 catches for 78 yds and a TD. The defense would force 3 turnovers and despite giving up quite a few yards played really well. Carolina Rookie QB Cameron Czaplewski would get his first career start and wouldn't disappoint throwing for 350 yds on 15 of 30 passing while throwing 2 TD's with 1 INT, but also had a costly fumble.
*First time to edit a video using this program so it is a bit too long but I wanted to get it in before advance. Better and shorter vids to come as I'm figuring everything out.
BUCCANEERS HOLD OFF A PESKY SKINS TEAM
TAMPA- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to get a much needed opening victory at the hands of The Washington Redskins with a 38-35 win. Turnovers played a big part for the Bucs as they forced 6 fumbles, recovered 3 and caught 2 ints. Although the ground game was superb in the contest, HB Doug Martin was relentless in his quest to help his team to victory. He rushed for a game high 63yds and scored twice in the process. On defense, safety Mark Barron led his team with 10 solo tackles on the day. MLB Mason Foster was also a force; recording 5 solo stops and caused 3 fumbles. Next up, Carolina Panthers!
8 fumbles wtf.
Yeah, it was pretty bad. They recovered the majority of them though! (It actually only shows 6 on maddencareers, but it was still a lot, lol!
Colts outlast 'Fins in sloppy season opener
This one had all the signs of a season opener. The dropped balls, missed tackles, blown coverages, overthrows and of course turnovers. Miami was able to control most of the first half but the Colts would have a late surge and go into half up 17-14. Indy would ride the momentum from going to half and pick up where they left off in the 3rd quarter. Luck continued to make his case as one of the leagues best by adding another passing TD and a long scamper for a rushing TD, giving him 3 total on the day. uagrad90
Well the saints were able to start the season off with a very impressive victory over the cowboys. most impressive was the defense, very remenant of the dome patrol of the early 90s. The defense piled up 4 turnovers, 3 sacks, and only allowed a fg. Reporter,"Coach for, congrats on your first victory, we couldnt help but notice that u and coach bob had a long post game handshake, can you tell us what was talked about? "Sure, he just wanted to congradulate me and my staff on our first victory in Hard Knocks and just let me kno what is expected outta me as far as conduct, gameplay, and content you know, normal stuff, really glad to be a part of this league now we must plan for the falcons and thats what we're looking forward to, thanks" Good Game BobJr

49ers 30 - Bears 7 The 49ers came out strong in their season opener and showed their offense can get it done as well as the defense. Colin Kaepernick looked good throwing for 289 yards and 2 TD's on 16/23. Gore fell short of 100 yards by 1 yard as he ran for 99 on 21 carries, no TD's this game though as LaMichael James got the rushing TD for the Niners. On the rookie front, Avius Allen caught 5 passes for 114 yards and a TD. The 49ers defense allowed a TD in the 2nd quarter, but nothing after that as they only gave up 138 total yards and 7 first downs while coming up with 3 takeaways and cruising to a 1-0 start on the year. gg thirdalarm
