NC State is humbled 31-7 by North Carolina
After sloppy performances by the Tar Heel offense and defense in the past few weeks, a lot of analysts where viewing this match-up as a potential trap game. Luckily it turned out to be the most complete game all season.
NC State would receive the ball first, but they were forced to punt on a 3 and out. Carolina drove the ball down the field, with a lot of the yards coming on a post route to Adams. The Tar Heels got it to the 1 yard line, where Renner dove into the endzone for a TD. NC State responded in the second quarter with a nice drive that ended with an 18 yard TD pass to WR Everett Proctor. With the game tied, the Tar Heels where efficiently moving the ball once again with their balanced run and pass game. In the redzone, Renner found Andy Smith for an 18 yard TD. NC State turned the ball over, and Carolina scored again before the half. This time it was AJ Blue with an 18 yard TD run.
Going into the third, UNC lead 21-7. Things got even bleaker for NC State as they had to turn to their 3rd string QB after injuries. The Tar Heels kicked a FG, and led 24-7 heading into the fourth. NC State wasn't able to do much in the fourth, and Carolina scored again with a 6 yard run by Giovanni Bernard. NC State ran the clock down with consistent running plays on their next drive, ending the game with a 31-7 UNC victory. Good game UofCWildcat
UNC continues their tough road schedule, traveling to Maryland next week. It will be hard not to look past that game in preparation for the big division battle brewing against Georgia Tech, but Coach Fuzzy will have his players ready.
    Stats:
    B. Renner 13/21 173 yds 1 TD 1 INT

    AJ Blue 18 110 yds 1 TD
    Giovanni Bernard 10 62 yds 1 TD

    J. Adams 5 catches 102 yds
    S. Tapley 2 26 yds
    A. Smith 1 18 yds 1 TD

    D. Lipford 2 tackles 1 sack
    T. Boston 4 tackles 1 INT
    S. Williams 2 tackles 1 sack
    J. Price 1 tackle 1 INT
    T. Scott 1 tackle 1 sack
    D. Guy 3 tackles 1 sack

Cavaliers take out Maryland 44-23. The Cavaliers have been playing spectacular ball lately. They have been playing good offense and good defense(somewhat). Ross Metheny known for throwing multiple interceptions a game didn't throw a single interception against Maryland and even threw for 3 TD's. When Duke saw that happened all he could say was "What the fuck." Kevin parks ran for 100+ yards and a TD. The Cavaliers are now 6-4 and look to finish strong winning their last two games. Mediocre season for Duke.

Haha. Yeah. Fuzzy's team is EONS better on defense than mine. I may have DBs but he has the complete set. I could not run and my passing game was piss pour. If I beat Wake I still have a shot since that was my first conference loss at least :D

    #4 Wake Forest 17
    @
    Clemson 12

The Deacons needed every bit of their defense to win this one as the offensive line got dominated all afternoon giving up 6 sacks. Wake Forest managed to put together 166 yards of offense to Clemsons 226, and each team had 4 turnovers (3 fumbles by Wake, 3 picks by Clemson). Fortunately, Duran Lowe and Jharrison Gillepsie were able to return their interceptions to the house to provide the points for Wake forest. The Wake defense also managed 10 sacks on the day; John Gallagher with 3, Nikita Whitlock with 2.5, Daniel vogelsang with 2, Duke Mosby with 1.5, and Zach Thompson with 1 -- all defensive lineman. Clemson's lone touchdown came on a fumble return off of a sack.

"I'm damn proud of our defense, they won this game for us no doubt. The offense did what they had to do in the second half to manage this one and let our defense win it for us. At halftime we looked at how each side was playing and just said 'hey we aren't doing anything on offense well, and they just threw two pick sixes to close out the half.' We had Boyd rattled and he was thinking about every throw he made. I hope our offense is ready to go, because NC State won't hand us the game I don't think."

Wake has their biggest game of the year next week against NC State, the game that should ultimately determine the representative of the division.

31-7 isn't a talent gap, it's a talent & skills gap. If two users are equally matched the talent of the team might be a 10 point difference, not a dominating blowout. With that said we really need to get team ratings posted, I will do it tonight when I get home.

Nah. Conference games as a whole will mean something to my Division hopes.

Not exactly my friend. I've had people who have far worse talent than i do but compete with me. Also with skill. People who are far better than me a can compete with (see my 3 point loss to Oshio). It all just depends on the day. One day I could compete with fuzzy and another i'll get destroyed.

    Nebraska Takes Down Illini
Champaign Il- Nebraska rolled into town played efficient, unexciting football and rolled back out with a solid win 31-10. With several major contributors down for the 2nd week in a row Nebraska spread the ball out and moved down the field well. Carnes ended the day 12-12 with 175 yards and 3 TD. Jason Robinson caught 2 TD passes and is becoming a very good target in the passing game. Gore led the team in rushing with 80ish yards. Carnes added 40 more off several nice option keepers. And the defense kept Illinois on their half of he field most of the game.

If someone has far less talent than you but still competes they are either equal or better than you.
