Dolphins 23 - Seahawks 10 DT Paul Soliai led the Dolphins defensive effort with multiple sacks on Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. MIAMI - In Coach GTG's first game back with HK, the struggling Dolphins he took over were able to get back in the win column after week upon week of losing football. Miami's halfback MJD was able to get the new run oriented offense off to a successful start, and finished with over 100 yards rushing on the day. Coach GTG made it clear that his football team will get off the bus running week in and week out. Look for MJD to continue to get his share opportunities in future games. Dolphins QB Mark Sanchez struggled early after his first two pass attempts were a drop and interception respectively. With less than 20 attempts during the game, it appears that the new coach will utilize Sanchez as more of a game manager than rely on his below-average arm. Despite this, Sanchez was able to hook up with TE Tony Fasano on a long TD pass that proved to be the difference in the game. The Dolphins defense looked dominant as they were able to apply plenty of pressure on Russell Wilson, causing 8 sacks and an interception. Coach GTG emphasized his belief in the 4-3 defense that he learned as a protege of Lovie Smith. The special teams personnel also got in on the team's success as they returned a kick off for a TD to start the second half of the game. Coach GTG had this to say after the game: "I think this week's efforts showed that the Miami Dolphins have a bright future," said GTG. "The guys really responded to our game plan, and I look forward to working with everyone throughout the upcoming off season."
