    Wisconsin dont lose at home!!

kicking off now, UW in red top/white pants and UNC in the all white

    UW ball first!

Wisconsin starts extra conservative and punts
UNC marches right down but fumbles in the redzone
more conservative offense leads to another UW punt
UNC marches again and is held to a FG 3-0
UW's QB goes down with an injury. Not that Budmayr is a downgrade as he drives the badgers right down into the endzone as the 1st Q ends 7-3

    Nebraska Destroys MTSU
    Martinez Has Record Day
Lincoln, NE- Coach Bulgy said he wanted to get the passing game some work before heading into B1G play next week and it was firing on all cylinders Saturday. Taylor Martinez had an incredible day throwing the ball for Nebraska.
Martinez went 20-26 for 514 yards and 7 TD in essentially one half of play. Martinez ended the first half 19-25 for 448 yards and 6 TD, on the first play of the second half Martinez found freshman TE Jason Robinson for a 68 yard strike to end his day. Nebraska had 6 different players catch TD passes and 5 WR had over 80 yards. Martinez set the school record for passing TD and yards in a game. Both star freshman WR caught TD passes. Brandon Smith took a short route 73 yards for a score and also scored from 51 yards out. Jerrell McDonald only caught 1 pass, but he made it count an 84 yard strike after he beat the CB deep. Coach Bulgy was exasperated with the passing game over the last few weeks and told his players there would not be any running plays called unless absolutely necessary. The Huskers leading rusher was Bret Davis with 14 carries for 57 yards and a TD.
The defense had 7 sacks on the day with freshman Austin Harrison recording 2 and 2 more TFL. Ciante Evans and Devin Paulson both had interceptions for Nebraska.
Cory King also threw his first career TD pass in the second half Saturday when he found Willie Ransom in the endzone for a 23 yard score in the 3rd. It was his only attempt and completion of the night. The score was bad enough but it could have been worse. Aaron Green had a 68 yard punt return TD called back for holding and David White had a 97 yard interception return negated by a holding call during the return.

2nd Quarter is much of the same for UNC as they march right down the field again but a sack knocks them out of FG range, forcing them to go for it on 4th and 14 and the badger defense comes up with a pick.
Now with Gandy back under center, UW continues with the conservative offense and go 3 and out but the punt pushes the field position back the other way
UNC continues to move the ball with ease and after a long drive, find the endzone on a toss to the HB from the 3 to go up 10-7

Wisconsin answers quickly with a nice drive but a drop stalls things just past midfield and forces a punt that goes into the endzone
now with 1 minute to work, UNC takes over. A blown coverage gives UNC around 50 yards right away and it doesnt take long to get inside the 10. but UW comes up with a HUGE int!!

they run it out to go to half down 10-7

    Miami 38

The Deacons got all that they wanted from the Hurricanes. AJ Marshall got off to a fast start, snagging two interceptions and returning one for a touchdown. Josh Harris had 120 yards on 20 carries and a TD. Tanner Price had an average day throwing the ball, going 17-29 for 154 yards and a TD. Not much else to say, this was a straight shootout. Wake got outgained 194-372 in total offense, and still managed 41 points--- thats saying something I think. Defense will have to get better, absolutely.

UNC takes the kick to start the 3rd and gets to the 19. they march right down the field again but lose their top WR for the game. it doesnt matter as they find the endzone to go up 10 on a dangerous pass to the TE. 17-10

and yet again UW goes 3 and out
UNC goes deep on the first play and UW comes down with another INT at the 10 yard line
UW elects to put Budmayr back in the game at QB to generate some offense and he delivers and after takign 2 big sacks to set up 3rd and 20, he finds Whitlock over the middle deep and he takes it all the way to the endzone. 17-14 UNC

with UNC trying to march again, the 3rd quarter ends. and after a defensive mishap Blue takes it 28 yards to score 24-14

Feeling some crunch of the clock, UW needed to mount a drive. and they did. Budmayr hits Gordon on a huge screen pass and it takes a great goal line stand to force a FG. 24-17 with 4 min left

A TE crossing route on 3rd and 5 inches past the line and UNC keeps the clock rolling. But its useless as Blue breaks around the outside and gets itself to the goal line. 2 plays later a QB sneak finds the endzone with 116 left

It takes UE 2 plays to find the endzone but NEEEED the onside kick for any hope to tie it up

it was a beauty kick but UNC fields it cleanly and kneels out the clock with the 31-24 win

    GG fuzzyl0gic

My the difference in my starting QB to my backup was huge in the results and my conservative start hurt me. I was just scared he would make a mistake and then my defense was all or nothing (as usual) but I gave you too many possessions

Yeah it was a great game. Despite 3 INTs and a fumble, UNC overcame it's errors for a win. That's a nice way to do a write-up as well, I usually forget what exactly happened.

I did notice that checking out your roster the other night. Outside of your big SS your secondary is pretty small.
